Find my past is good but a bit…
Find my past is good but a bit confusing found it hard to add to the family tree and as I went over the 7 days they took a payment and added the subscription which I thought you could cancel ANYTIME you can but they still want the payments for a whole year so you dont really cancel at all

I had a significant problem with our…
I had a significant problem with our family tree - left to my devices I would have created havoc in the household.
My contact with Find my Past was great.
First telephone call was answered quickly (as my was second call!)- the same person, Marion, was my advisor.
Advice was given plus information emailed.
Second call because I had to check that the steps I was going to undertake were correct.
Help given was by a question & answer approach- I was asked the question, I had to answer. The process took time but it all worked out well - people were moved to their correct place & the family moved with them!!
Thanks to Marion our household is now calm.
Contact with Find my Past will be used more often.

Newspaper resource on site is extremely useful
It is useful to use different family history sites as each of the major ones offer different resources - FMP has news papers and also the records are transcribed independently so if there is an error on another site you may find the record on FMP

I bought the £16.99 monthly…
I bought the £16.99 monthly subscription to look into my friends family. I cancelled after a month and yet money continuously came out of my account for the next few months. I eventually rang them and was told it was a contract I was tied into for a year in extremely small print. I then had to pay an extra £35 to get out of the contract with no refund. Do not trust these scammers.

DON'T GO NEAR THIS COMPANY!
I am only writing this in the hope that it will save some other mug falling for the trap I did. I can see from countless other 1* reviews that it's a common problem; trying the free trial and then having to pay £16.99 a month for a service you've cancelled and have not/do not use. I was unable to cancel on the last day of the trial as we were travelling but as the blurb said "cancel any time" I decided to keep it for another month to see if it was useful. When I realised it wasn't and cancelled the plan, I found it was a FIXED ANNUAL CONTRACT, which is in the VERY small print! I'm absolutely gutted as I'm on a very small pension and can ill afford to be scammed out of £17 a month. I thinking it's appalling in this day and age, when every other subscription offer from other companies allows you to literally cancel any time, thereby only paying for what you use. Shame on you!

New to FMP and frustrated!
I'm fairly new to FMP. I'm beginning to find my way around and have discovered some interesting things. However, I find it frustrating that when you've cleared an entry to look for a new person, othat often the previous person's details suddenly appear, even though you've used the 'clear all'. 'No results' show and you suddenly realise, when you look at the names and dates you think you've entered, that they've reverted back to the previous entries.
