extremely poor experience with Extak

I ordered a pair of walkie talkies for my Grandaughters Christmas present.The items were in stock according to the website.Ordered on 13 Oct 2013 for delivery 18-20th Oct.On the 22nd Oct I called to chase and after waitingon hold for about 15 minutes was told that they would look in to the matter as the computer said the product had been dispatched and should have been delivered.I then received an email confirming that actually the product was no longer available.Why did I have to chase and how long will it take to get my money back. ?

terrible!

When I placed my order, I was notified of a delivery date. However, when the delivery date passed and I contacted Extak to enquire about the delivery date, I was told that the item I ordered was out of stock.

Ideally, I should not have had to enquire but rather, Extak should have contacted me much earlier to inform me that the item was out of stock.

I will not be purchasing form Extak again nor recommending them either.

Shame the goods never arrived

I ordered a Philips HQ8 shaver head replacement from Extak on 1 October with an anticipated delivery of 8-11 October. When the goods did not arrive I phoned again on 14 October (the call lasted 25 minutes with waiting time at a probable cost of £2.50). I was told I could I have a refund or the goods would be sent again within five days. I went for the latter option but no package received. I now have to pay through the nose via the 0843 number to get my money back. Guess what? I won't be using this Extak again.

I hope the company reads these comments, it would be good for them to understand their abysmal customer service.

Out of Stock!!

I ordered an item online with delivery date the following week. Following 10 days and missed delivery timescale I contacted to establish position. This appeared to generate a response which unfortunately was not the one I expected. Item was out of stock! Don't appear to have much stock control and blame third party supplier. Not good.

utter rubbish so far

Waited 20 mins in a call queue only for a prerecorded message to say no more room for any further messages and then disconnect me. Probably more irate customers. I will cancel my order if someone actually answers the phone

FRAUDULENT COMPANY

They could not fill the order and then failed to notify me, when I asked what was going on they informed me they had given a full refund. Checked my bank account, no refund
Contacted them back and they stated they have changed banks so they could not give refund.
A simple search in Google and I would have seen this company is known for scamming.
They probably fill some orders but it seems a lot of people are left out of pocket.
If you have money to waste then risk it and buy from them otherwise stay clear it's too much of a gamble.

Absolutely useless

Haven't received the items I ordered 2 weeks ago despite being in stock... Absolutely no communication from them to advise on the status... Will certainly not be ordering from this company again... My advise; AVOID

1 star is way too much for this company

Words fail me! Made a purchase and was told delivery in 4 working days. After a week with no despatch notification I tried calling the number provided. No-one was available to answer my call even though it was within their opening times. Unable to leave a message either due to mailbox being full - probably due to the amount of other unhappy customers. This company is unprofessional and an absolute disgrace. Should be closed down, wish I had read the reviews BEFORE purchasing Please avoid at all costs!!!!

Shopping with this company is my worst experence and a nightmare so far.

I have made an online order on the 6th of October and untill the 15th of October, I have not recieced my order or any notification. When I contacted them, thery said " Unfortunately due to a technical fault on our system we were unable to process your order which was affected by this fault. We have automatically refunded your account to save you any further delay or inconvenience". However, untill the 21/10 I have not recieved my money either. When I contacted them again they said "Due to complications that have arisen with our previous payment merchant this
has affected our ability to process your refund, we must unfortunately notify you that you will need to file a dispute with your bank for the transaction, as we are unable to complete the refund from our side.

Fraudulent company

Extak is a company that advertise stock that they do not have, when your order goes past your expected delivery date and you contact them to chase your item they then
tell you that the item is no longer in stock even though they are still showing in stock on there website,and when you ask for a refund they tell you they have a problem with there payment merchant and tell you to file a dispute with your bank. This is a load of rubbish,as I work in the retail trade I know it does not work like this.
I should have read all the reviews left by others regarding Extak before purchasing from them.
So be warned DO NOT BUY from Extak.

Terrible

Do not use these guys. We are electricals, then Wae+ and now as extak, these guys only want your money and have little interest in actually delivering goods. Useless company.

If only I had read these reviews total total utter rubbish do not buy from here

I orded a telephone case off this website, it never arrived, when I tried to log in to find out what had happended I could not log in, then I emailed and was told my ordered could not be processed due to techinical issues and they would issue a refund. I am still waiting for a refund 7 days have passed now it does not take that long to refund into a bank account. They are now ignoring my emails I will have to contact my bank as the transaction went through via clicksafe !

Failed to delivered twice and poor communication.

They failed to deliver my purchase by delivery date. Their customer service line is rarely answered and their answer machine is continuously full. They replied to a "contact us" message eventually and give a reason for non delivery and new delivery date. This delivery also failed to arrive. I messaged them again and was offered another delivery date or a refund. I choice to be refunded as very disappointed in their non deliveries and lack of communication. The refund took nearly 3 weeks to arrive.

Never used Extak before,awful service, wish I had read these reviews earlier.

This is sort of service that makes you wonder how on earth this company stays in business.
Placed an order on 15th September for ink cartridges and given 20th Sept for delivery. Paid by credit card and noted money taken immediately. No ink arrived. Advised on 24th Sept that it was out of stock -- no other advice given. Purchased ink elsewhere and asked Extak for a refund. Numerous e mails sent, some unanswered, and money finally received yesterday, 18th October, 5 weeks later!!
APPALLING SERVICE. Cant imagine what would have happened if the goods were faulty or damaged. Never used Extak before and never will again.
Have to read between the lines on review sites but my fellow reviewers say all there is to say about this company. You are a disgrace Extak

Beware

Their stock levels do not appear to be accurate. I ordered a couple of hard drives on the 5th of September and they took 20 days to deliver. When I phoned to chase, they informed me that they were awaiting stock from their supplier...

Poor, bad, bad, poor, not satisfied at all, not acceptable in this day & age.

Completed this review at some risk as my order is still outstanding!!!!

Ordered a cable in good faith from Extak, ordering from them for the first time. Received confirmation email in a timely manner, then received an email to write this review, then waited nearly TWO WEEKS before having no choice but to follow up the order. Called the 0843 number only to be held in a queue for 15, then 25 minutes....slowly moving through a queue of 7 calls. How can 7 calls take 25 minutes waiting time unless there is only one or two people answering them? The cynical side of me says that the call charging of up to 13ppm has something to do with it, especially as my enquiry took all of 1 minute max....and I still have to wait five working days for the order to be fulfilled!!!! Not at all happy!

Never using this site again... EVER.

I ordered a Samsung PC on the 5th October 2013 and paid £798 for it. The money was taken from my account on the 7th October 2013, leaving me with just £2 in my savings! Usually, companies take the money when they dispatch the item, so I assumed it was on its way. I hadn't received a dispatch confirmation email, however, but I thought they would send it in the next 24 hours or so. When I ordered, the estimated delivery date was the 11th October 2013.

A few days later, on the 11th October, I checked the site to make sure it was still arriving on time. The estimated delivery date was now 11th-14th October, which I was fine about, as I wasn't in any sort of rush. However, when I clicked 'view order details', there was a notification about my order; saying something like 'awaiting customer response'. I didn't know what to do, so I clicked 'reorder', as there weren't any other buttons to press. The site told me the computer was out of stock. I assumed I had got one of the last ones.

I emailed Extak (just in case) to ask what it meant. A day, on the 12th October, I received a reply, saying that the computer I had ordered was out of stock and I couldn't receive it. They asked whether I would like a refund or another model. In Extak's T&Cs, they state that they ALWAYS inform the customer if anything they have ordered is out of stock after an order has been placed (due to third-party stockists, it's not always updated soon enough) but I NEVER received an email telling me this.

I emailed back asking for a refund. I didn't get a reply after 24 hours, so I emailed again on the 13th and again on the 14th. Eventually, on the 16th, I phoned them (the first time I wasn't at university during their opening hours). I was on hold for 10 minutes, which cost me more money. Customer Services told me there had been an 'admin' error and my emails had been ignored, meaning I'd have to wait for up to 3 working days for my refund.

I am not being given any sort of compensation for this, even though Extak technically breached their T&Cs by taking money from me for something they DIDN'T HAVE and not informing me when it was out of stock.

It's the 18th now and I've just realised that the third 'working day' is the 21st October, as weekends don't count as 'working days'. So, Extak basically took my money from me and held it for no reason for 14 days. I should be charging interest on it!

I feel as if I couldn't trust this site again and urge everyone to try and get their stuff elsewhere.
