Cannot contact directly to unlock account. Needed urgently.
Buying a car through well known car company I have used for four years. I was notified two days ago by the car company that my Experian account, which they check was locked, could I unlock it.
The last time I used Experian was ten years ago when I purchased a property so was unaware I still had an account, but apparently everybody has a free one.
Followed the instructions online to download the App. Logged in and was notified that they could not verify my account.
All attempts to contact Experian have been made, however, they will only speak to you if you have a paid account. If you do not have a paid account the automated service informs you to get in touch through the App. As the App does not recognise me, I cannot.
Finally got through to someone (fraud dept, not the one I required) after contacting every number available and was informed that Experian does not recognise me as they may have a different phone number.
Was instructed to email to verify my account but this will take 7 working days!!!!
Now I have a car I cannot purchase until they unlock my account and another one sat on the drive as the insurance has been swapped over.
If you run a business through an App you need to be able to access the App.
