3.5 stars, really...

Been using Evernote for 15 years now. It's basically the only thing standing between myself and total chaos.

Since it was acquired by Bending Spoons it has become a far deeper application, although they oddly dropped at least two of the features I used daily in the old version.

I admittedly do not use its extended functionality, so for my use case it is WAY overpriced. There are two reasons I stay: 1) My work pays for it. 2) I feel like switching to a new app is a painful process which I'd really like to avoid.

But if you make use of the features, it may be worth the serious price tag.

Their support is notoriously horrible, but if you learn a few tricks (i.e. use the subreddit) you can get some action. It also seems like they've overcome a lot of the buggy growing pains that were happening a year or three ago...

So, I do feel like the Bending Spoons folks are making it into a powerful and very different application. It's definitely a great fit for a lot of users.

Too Focused on AI

So much potential, but the creators have an utter disdain for users. There are still fundamental flaws, the mobile app doesn't always behave as it should, and now they've just pumped it full of AI features so they can charge more. Now users are being forced to surrender unlimited notes or pay a higher price to have AI that they either don't want or don't use. This used to be THE note-taking tool that I would suggest, but honestly? There are better options these days.

This company changes the rules

This company changes the rules , charge double for monthly service, has no customer service to talk to. I have paid hundreds of dollars & can't get into my account. It's a scam & don't do it. The worst.

I have used Evernote for over a decade to keep my home and work lives organized. The tagging system is invaluable and the ability to create notebooks and stacks has enabled me to create a daily tracking calendar that keeps me organized.

Deteriorating month on month

As a long-time user, I used to think it was the best, but I am sad to say it is getting worse and worse. The search is now hopeless; I tag a note, but it can't find it and instead presents me with a bunch of unrelated notes. The app is slow to synchronise, and sometimes you have to log in and out several times before it does. Time to look for an alternative.

Evernote is my work and life organiser

Evernote is my work and life organiser. It's brilliant for record keeping, task planning, retrieving information. It works on my Mac, my iPad and my iPhone, syncing instantly, and it's multi-user for my wife. It's got better and better over the years. Couldn't be without it.

I stick with it-- but wish I could move

The search function has deteriorated. I can't believe the searches I do and how it can't come up with the exact phrase? Too much AI thinking it? And then I use multiple devices and I'm limited to 3? Wow-- so I use the web version to supplement. Been a user for over 20 years.... and can't move now...

"Please make Evernote more intuitive."

I have been using Evernote for a long time. However, looking at the recent changes, there are a few disappointing aspects:

Search is very difficult and unintuitive. Search is the most essential feature of a note-taking app. When I search for a keyword, it should pull up results from everywhere, regardless of which notebook they are in, but this function does not work smoothly.

The display makes it hard to find the notebook list in the left panel, and browsing or searching by notebook also feels unintuitive. I wish the interface were more intuitive and provided easier, more structured access.
