Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Looking at 126 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Customers frequently complained about terrible customer support, unhelpful chatbot systems, and frustratingly long waiting times that made it nearly impossible to reach a real human being. Shoppers also experienced severe delivery delays, missing items, and paid orders that were cancelled without receiving any clear explanations. Some reviewers were happy with the fast shipping times for directly stocked items and appreciated the wide variety of products available. Conversely, a small portion of people felt deeply frustrated by receiving defective merchandise, non-genuine items, and unhelpful responses when requesting customer assistance.

Please Avoid this merchant !

I recomend to all potential customers, domestic or international: AVOID THIS WEBSITE. It is full of arrogant support agents who only mock you , do not help you straight with a general problem, they do not publish negative reviews to products and sellers , apply the censorship like some sort of dictatorship, they're full of scammy, low quality, rubbish overpriced chinese and polish products, many romanian sellers practice the opportunistic overprice practice to many of their products. And they simply force how many abusive taxes they want when they want, overnight. Please be very extra carreful, if you do not want shock surprises !

A very original Scam shaped by the AI

If I had the chance of putting 0 out 5 stars , I would select -5 . Just to let you readers understand: The company I work for gave us a Voucher with E-mag in January. I found a beautiful guitar and I bought it. My mistake: it was only acoustic instead of electro-acoustic. I fill the returning file and procedure, they show up only once and when I try to contact them ( they arrived in a time where we were not in the office) they disappear and make the returning period expire. Maybe my fault? A colleague of mine gave me his voucher ( 38.000 forints Magyar) for a new beautiful guitar and I feel Naive enough to give a second chance . I pay on the 23rd of April and the Guitar should arrive on the 4th of May maximum. On the 5th of May ( after the agreed period) I get a message that the order had been canceled since they didn't find any guitar that I paid for. I try to contact them again but this worthless useless AI service is the only one replying and handling the situation only in Hungarian leading to nowhere and only to make me lose my patience. It really took me to swear to the stupid AI service in order to be contacted from a real person. the AI says that the reimbursement has been processed but after a lot of days I see no money and they tell me I will probably get no Voucher money ( out of 47.000 I might get only 9.000) . Slower than a Turtle, the CS lady replied to me in Hungarian and gives me no feedback at all. So I slightly have the impression I will not see my Money and neither will see my guitar. If that will not happen I am glad to retract all of this but behind this innocent disorganization and slow feedback there is obviously a strategy of getting the customer dry of energy and out of will of asking money back. In other words ladies and gentlemen buy anything else from anywhere else: buy weapons from black market or dealers from the streets or buy things second hand from a desperate homeless person . Do not buy anything from here. Trust me sincerely As you would trust a friend.

134 days to replace a defective product - only after government intervention

I have been an eMAG customer since 2013. With hundreds of orders, Genius subscriber since day one, and now paying the newly introduced 'operational services fee' on every order. This is my first public review, and I wish it were a positive one.

In December 2025, I reported a defective Philips LatteGo espresso machine under warranty. The defect was clear and confirmed by eMAG's own authorized service partner (ESD Rom): 'UNIT LEAKS WATER CONSTANTLY.'

What followed was 134 days of dysfunction.

The service technician took the machine three times. Each time he returned it dirty and still broken, without issuing a single handover document. He refused to provide any paperwork when asked, and on his final visit, he entered private property without notice or permission, leaving the defective machine behind.

When I escalated to eMAG support requesting a replacement; as is my legal right under Romanian consumer law (OUG 140/2021) after the 15-day repair deadline had long expired; the agent repeatedly insisted I open a new service ticket. This would have reset the legal clock. When I refused, my ticket was closed without resolution. I then received an automated satisfaction survey.

Only after I filed an official complaint with ANPC (Romania's Consumer Protection Authority) did eMAG suddenly want to 'help'. Even then, their first proposal was to send the machine back to the same service company, just a different city. I refused.

When they finally agreed to replace the product, the price difference (the product now costs more than what I paid on promotion) was presented as a 'discount offered to me' as if covering a legal obligation was a favour.

The compensation offered for 134 days without a product I paid for? A gift card worth approximately €30, valid for 3 months. I declined it on principle.

The courier pickup took 6 days after the shipping label was generated. I was then called and asked why I hadn't sent the product myself. The service partner sent automated emails referring to 'repair' when the unit was sent exclusively for return and replacement. Another email claimed the product was 'out of stock' despite written confirmation of replacement.

I finally received my replacement on May 12, 2026; 134 days after the initial service entry, 119 days past the legal deadline.

The product replacement was not goodwill. It was the bare legal minimum, delivered 119 days late, and only under pressure from a government authority.

Is the Genius Subscription Still Worth It?

I choose to pay for a Genius subscription primarily because I like to buy products, test them, and return them if they don't suit me. The 60-day return window for Genius products (usually delivered by eMAG) is a great benefit, alongside the occasional vouchers. I always do my own research on sellers and products instead of just buying based on the title.
That being said, my recent experience has been frustrating due to the new limits on free shipping and the addition of operational fees. Why display these extra charges at checkout? You should just absorb them into the commissions you charge your marketplace sellers. As a paying subscriber to your premium service, I don't expect to be hit with unexpected taxes or delivery fees.

They simply reject reviews of products or sellers if they don't agree. There is no way to contact them. They add fees when they feel like it even for users who have already paid for a genius subscription.

Ni product, no details, blamed me for it

It is ok if everithing goes well from the begining, if you have the smallest issue, you are doomed. The worst customer suppirt ever. Only a robot and a chat and if you are lucky you will get an email that will say no worries we will solve this together. 3 weeks and 6 other "no worries" email you will not receive anything, no product, no money back.

If the courier (sameday - witch belongs to emag)fails to deliver the product they will try to blame you that you opened other locker then the one that openes automatically. 0 interest regaring the customers.

It has monopoly over the market in romania, thus no one can hurt them. Buy from small business.

If you post a bad review, they will not post it and make up something that you are agresive or you sould not write about the delivery, even if they are asking you if the delivary was in time. I never received the product and from their perspective the delivery was on time.

Nu acceptă review-uri negative pentru chinezăriile promovate și vândute de ei.
Am dat retur la multe produse care nu corespund descrierii.
Am găsit de multe ori prețuri mai mici la același produs la alte firme mult mai serioase.

They do not accept negative reviews for the Chinese products they promote and sell.
I have returned many products that do not match the description.
I have often found lower prices for the same product at other, more reputable companies.

They don't respect their delivery time. If you command a product with shipping payment and you cancel that command you will receive only the money from product not the money from shipping. I think are many other problems.

EMAG RO WAKE UP…

I rarely return products I buy from eMAG Romania, but recently I had two cases in a row where my returns did not appear in the system. This made it impossible to complete the process in a normal, easy way. Instead, I had to send multiple messages and emails just to solve something that should have worked automatically. That is not acceptable for a platform of this size.

Another issue is the growing number of sellers from outside Romania using the platform. You can easily end up buying something simple—like a €6 hair gel—from Poland, only to wait far longer than expected for delivery. On top of that purchases from foreign companies involve different VAT handling compared to buying locally, which is not always clear to the customer.

eMAG should introduce stricter rules for sellers joining the platform. “In stock” is not enough. Delivery time must be clearly stated on the first page of every product (for example: 2–3 days, 3–5 days, etc.). Also, the country of origin should be displayed next to the seller’s name, so customers immediately know where the product is coming from. Yes, you can find this information if you search for it—but that is not customer-friendly when it could be shown upfront.

I’m writing this as feedback, although it often feels like eMAG doesn’t care, considering the low rating of 1.3 out of 5 stars. Maybe it’s time to start listening to customers instead of ignoring these very basic issues.

A garbage application

A garbage application. If you want to close suggested products...the application closes. A mess, maybe I don't want to see those products...🤮. And on top of that you don't even have customer support. Only on the flawed "Dana".😂😂😂. It's cabbage, man, pilaf.

Unfortunately they can't keep their promise when they set a delivery date. This might not be a problem with regular products but when you need a fridge because yours broke, or you need a dishwasher because it broke, things get complicated. They misplaced a dishwasher for me, I had to order another one which also arrived late. Now the same with a fridge. These things are frustrating, you rely on deadlines given for various reasons - to get people to help you for example. Anyway, at first it seemed like an accident but now it's clear to me that they have a big coordination problem.

Horrible experience, worst practices

Horrible, Horrible experience. They own the market by convincing sellers, to sell their products through them. They then abuse to modify prices, deliver late, approve the reviews that they want...basically anything bad one would think, they do.
