He's now doing business as New Remotes. Beware

He's now doing business as New Remotes, Inc. They sent me a model that I did not order, and although compatible, it was unusable due to a vision disorder. I requested the refund of nearly $16.00 in postage (delivery plus return costs) and of course, did not receive them. A $20.00 remote I couldn't use and did not order, ended up costing me $16.00. How unethical. Do not do business with Charlie Waters of NRI. He has done business under a variety of company names. Beware.

HORRIBLE!!! DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM!!

HORRIBLE!!!! I wish I had seen these reviews prior to ordering. The experience is as bad as many people have already written. I ordered a specific remote. They sent me a totally different remote with a letter in the envelop asking I "give it a try". I emailed them that I needed the remote I ordered because it had other functions that this remote didn't. Essentially, they sent a much cheaper model. The letter that came with the remote did not offer a discounted priced for the cheaper model they sent. I wrote in the email that I wanted a refund. I received a return email from their customer service again asking me to "try it". At this point, I am angry with the time it is taking to get a refund on a product I never ordered so I decided to call the company to explain why the remote was not going to work for me. I told the person that answered the phone the situation. She told me to return it for refund. I then asked why I should be responsible for paying shipping costs for the return when it was a product I never wanted. At this point she told me to dig through the garbage for the original packing so I could return it to sender. She was very rude so I asked to speak to the manager or owner of the company and she told me she was the owner. She tried to tell me that I should have received an email explaining that a different remote was being sent. This was a lie. I never would have agreed. Basically, just as others have said, this company is a scam that charges your credit card then expects you to go out of your way to return something you never ordered! Many complaints with the Better Business Bureau. HORRIBLE!!! DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM!!!

I was leery about ordering a remote …

I was leery about ordering a remote with the reviews I saw, but when I called, they told me my remote was no longer made by Element, but they have a replacement. No programming. "just put in new batteries". They said i can return it if it doesn't work.

I got it in a few days and it worked great. Its not a generic that I had to program.

I think these reviews are a competitor or competitors who's trying to hurt their business (one post is by "Mr. Remote", which is another remote control website. I was told I was getting a replacement, and the lady was very nice on the phone.

Bait and Switch

I wanted a specific model number Sony remote, as pictured on website. Electronic Adventure sent a different model number without notice.
It works ok, so far, and it isn't worth the time and expense to return it at my expense. So, Electronic Adventure's bait and switch worked to its' profit.
It seems, from other reviews, they pull this scam on everyone.

I ordered a specific Vizio remote

I ordered a specific Vizio remote. What I received was a piece of garbage generic remote that doesn't even have enough buttons to accomodate all the features on my tv. I called them and they were very rude and just apparently issued me a refund rather than send me the right one

New Remotes, Inc. AKA mrremotecontrols.com, discountedtvremotes.com, and electronicadventure.us SCAM ALERT!

I ordered a brand new OEM original remote for my TV and NEW REMOTES, INC, also doing business as MR REMOTE CONTROLS, DISCOUNTED TV REMOTES, and ELECTRONICADVENTURE.COM sent me an inferior cheap generic remote that did not work with my TV. The information NEW REMOTES enclosed stated the original advertised remote was never in stock so it is obvious they intended to defraud the buyer by substituting an inferior much less expensive product. In fact, NEW REMOTES continues to advertise the remote I ordered as in stock and ready for shipment!
This is a clear example of a BAIT AND SWITCH fraudulent business practice!

bait and switch

I ordered an obsolete Yamaha remote for my receiver, that they claimed to have. They sent me a different remote and claimed it was compatible. A few functions worked, but not the setup controls I needed. They told me to send it back in the mail marked "refused". The USPS clearly states that this doesn't work for returned packages. After bugging them a couple of times, they sent me a mailing label, and they did eventually refund my payment.

Bait and Switch Reviews are True

I ordered a HAMPTON BAY UC7083T-R remote as pictured on the website. Instead I received an off brand remote which I doubt sells for $29.96
Just read the reviews on this company which I should have read prior to purchasing. Seems that this is not the first time they have done this. I certainly will not be purchasing from then again, The negative reviews on the bait and switch are true.

Great Product

They were able to hook me up with a unique installer remote for some hospital grade televisions. The remote was discontinued but they sent a compatible one that worked even better.

Outstanding resource for remote controls

I was searching for a remote control for an 8 year old Onkyo receiver, when I found a video for Electronic Adventure that showed my model remote. I was a bit skeptical because of the price but decided to order it anyway. BTW I used a coupon code from the video to save $5 (search for this before you buy). My remote control arrived a few days later and it was brand new. Works great…. I will definitely look these guys up again if I need any other remotes.

BEWARE - Bait and Switch... Do NOT Buy!

I purchased an original Vizio VR8S remote control for my Vizio VSB210 sound bar and when I received it, it was a cheaper generic manufactured model. Come to find out I OVERPAID for the item at $29.95, and ended up getting a cheaper item in which i did not purchase! I looked up the generic model and I could have paid $14.95 for it elsewhere and not have been scammed in the process. I will never do business with this company again. Plus shipping cost is too high, bad customer service, and they try to scam you with a extended warranty you must pay additional for. NEVER BUY FROM THEM. It is against the LAW to bait and switch!

Great Savings, fast delivery, quick and easy check out

I recently ordered a Sony RM-YD04 Remote as a replacement for the one my Grand daughter had decided she wanted to flush down the toilet. I had tried to use a Universal but everyone I tried didn't give me the input which I needed for my DVD player. I went online and saw that it was listed here at much less than others and said they had fast delivery which I needed. I placed the order, got a confirmation e-mail immediately and had my same remote within days. The transaction was simple, with cost savings and delivered as promised.

Electronics Adventure at Tampa Florida is a truly scam over the internet.

My daugter accidentally dropped my element tv remote control on the water. I sat with her, searched the internet, and eventually and unfortunately we found the Electronic Adventure {electronicadventure.us} remote television control website.

We matched our tv remote control by model number and by picture, the cost $29.95 and Electronic Adventure charged an additional $7.95 for shipping.

After 2 weeks we received a cheap knockoff withouth model number and really different with what looked like a generic. I was very upset because they never ask me if we want a generic remote control, of course Not. I can go to walmart for a generic remote and I tried 3 before but My element tv seems like don't work with a generic remote control. quickly called their Tampa, Florida and they respond than I can return in the same envelope only write outside: return to sender!! no-hassle, 100% money back guarantee.

Now after 2 months they say than the remote never arrive and they don't give me back the U$29.99 neither the U$7.95 for shipping. I came to the post office and they said than the remote is with the sender again, so I lost my money!!!

bait and switch

Blinded by the excitement of having a new gaming console and desperate to be able to switch my TV into game mode, I did everything wrong. I Googled "Sylvania doesn't work with universal remote" instead of "Sylvania replacement remote" or just going to the Sylvania website. I found ElectronicAdventures.com in a posting on a forum and bought a remote without comparing prices or searching for company reviews.

They sent a cheap generic remote instead of the original $30 remote I'd ordered, saying it was out of stock. They did not ask if the switch would be okay or notify me at all. Also, the remote did not work. Fortunately, they refunded the cost plus shipping, though, under the circumstances, I also complained about the return shipping cost which they did not refund. When I did Google the company, I found several similar complaints that I should have seen earlier. I ended up buying a replacement remote from Sylvania's customer service for almost $20 less than the cost of ElectronicAdventures' generic remote.
