I rented the car via Hotwire for what I thought was a set price. By the time all of the fees were added, I paid almost 2.5x the price. The car was absolutely filthy! The windows were so gross that I had trouble seeing out of them. The backseat passenger windows looked like someone licked their fingers and drew on the glass. I didn’t drive the car much the first day I had it. I only drove the distance from the rental location to the hotel, which was about a 15 minute drive. Immediately upon driving on the second day, the notification to change the oil came on. The customer service at the car rental location was the only positive. The guy working was courteous and friendly. The shuttle drivers were also friendly and courteous.

Not so easy

Contrary to the company’s misleading name, there’s nothing easy about renting a car from them. First, from the center where all the major car rental companies are located (where the Sky Train takes you from Sky Harbor Airport) you have to (1) walk a significant distance with your luggage to the place where an Easirent shuttle van will pick you up, (2) wait for the van, and (3) ride a few more miles to the office. Plan on an extra half-hour for this. But the worst part of renting from them is that, if you don’t happen to have documentary proof for your car insurance, including policy number, they force you to pay a large additional amount for theirs. There was no advanced notice of this; in fact, Expedia had sent us confirmation that the rental was fully prepaid by us. We’d never encountered this in over 50 years of renting cars, and neither had another elderly man who was getting a car at the same time and was also forced to pay for unneeded insurance. It was just a scam to overcharge us.

Avoid

Double-shuttle required to access rental car with 30-min shuttle wait, then takes over an hour to get rental car due to understaffing; online links for tracking shuttle not working; paid for tolls package, yet toll booth didn't work. NO response from customer service via phone or email after multiple attempts to resolve toll issue. I wish I could give a more positive review, but sadly, wouldn't recommend.

Beware

I called the main office before we arrive as we wanted to take the card to Phoenix for one day and they said we had to pay $25 fee for the day that we is gone when we come to pick up the vehicle they said we had to do it for the whole entire seven days. We had the car which is ridiculous that we’re only there one day. I was trying to cancel the reservation and they said I would lose all my money. It was a bunch of BS. I’ve done everything I could to make sure I’ve done everything correctly. Beware.

Do yourself a favor and use a different company

Don’t fall for the sun pass they sell you when you arrive to be able to drive toll roads! They lied to us saying we had to use the toll roads where we were going and we didn’t use a single one on a 7 day trip! It’s a scam as usual with these big companies! The car also had a leaking tire that we spent 7 days putting air into morning and night due to tire shops charging way to much to fix and some refusing to fix due to it being a rental! The company wouldn’t answer when I called to report the problem, nor did I want to spend my honey moon worrying about it so I just stopped and put air in it at every gestation we went to. The half windows wouldn’t shut and every time you’d stop you had to spend 2-3 min trying to close your car up etc! Returning vehicle and the merchant didn’t care that we didn’t use the sun pass we had to still pay for it! I wasn’t happy with the service and will not be using them again for our future vacations as we do travel 4-6 times per year!

Though Rian offered incredible service and seems to try to compensate for poor company performance, I had a below par experience. INCONVENIENT airport transfer, HIDDEN COSTS charges for out of state travel, additional deposit ($500) if you didn’t fly in AND out and feeling stuck with NO CANCELLATION option. I felt stuck. What was quoted to be $365 was $570, very deceptive. They get you in the door and over a barrel with no recourse. READ THE REVIEWS BEFORE BOOKING!!! There’s good reason for 600+ bad reviews. I wish Rian a promotion, a raise and a better job!!!

I rented a car through a third-party…

I rented a car through a third-party site. for this company. The rental stated that it was unlimited miles. There was nothing stating any geographical restriction. Upon picking up my car, the staff member asked me if I was taking the car out of state. I said I wasn’t sure. He stated that if I took the car out of the state, it would cost me $20 a day for the entire length of my rental. Any savings that I had by going through them was lost with the additional $20. He stated that it was in my rental agreement. I went back through my rental agreement and it says “ All cars are restricted to the State of the origin of pickup. Arrangements can be made at the branch for exceptions for an added fee. Vehicles that leave the state may be charged a fee up to $1,000.00 or the overage mileage charge - whichever is greater.”
Since I had unlimited mileage, there shouldn’t be any overage. I told the staff member I wasn’t sure if I was going to go out of state- could I just call in and change the rental if I did decided to go down the state. He told me no once I left the site that if I called in later I couldn’t add the additional coverage for going out of the state. The additional cost was not disclosed and the policy is very difficult to find. It is very misleading, and I would have much rather used a different company and probably paid less than rented from this shady company. I was respectful to the staff member(because after all, it’s not his policy. He just works there) but I did respectfully state that I thought it was misleading and just playing wrong. The staff member told me I literally don’t give a f***!”- never again.
Also, the car I received was supposed have “compact suv” and it was to fit three pieces of luggage. I guess I didn’t realize that a compact SUV would fit less than a small car would- I had three full size pieces and no matter which way we turned it, there was no way that more than 2 were going to fit. Unfortunately, it made for a very uncomfortable trip.

The check in staff was nice but the return and being held accountable for a slow leak that was a thing when we were 1 hour into our trip that was three hours away is just ridiculous. We are almost certain that this car had a slow leak before it was rented out to us. We had to put air in the tire multiple times on our trip. The responsible thing was to report it as we did, but we see where that got us. Being held accountable for something that was already a thing. We had to wait several minutes until they brought the car to us when the car should have been cleaned and ready to go. A friend used this place stated that she would not use it again and we still gave it a chance but will not rent from here again and would not recommend no matter the price. As mentioned the checkin in staff was nice.

Hidden fees

First, this is not located at LAS airport, nor is there a direct shuttle to their location. You have to get a shuttle to one rental car hub, then wait for a second shuttle to bring you to their location.
Upon arrival there was 1 other customer being helped and 2 other agents at the desk doing paperwork. With no one else there, I approached the desk & was told I need to get in line and wait. After finishing her paperwork, one lady left, but not before chatting with the other 2 agents for a minute. After flight delays and multiple shuttles to get there, I was picking up at 5:30 instead of 1:30.
Finally got service from a lady who was focused on the multiple snacks at her desk. She surprised me by asking if I was going out of state. I said I would be on the 2nd day only. The 1st day was almost over anyways, but i was still paying for 2 days. I was charged $30/day plus taxes for going into CA on one day. My rental was $75, but i had to pay almost double that due to this ridiculous fine print rule.
The car was fine and the return was fine, but I absolutely will not rent from this company again.

Hidden Fees, Long Waits, and Not Worth the Hassle

Hidden Fees, Long Waits, and Not Worth the Hassle

I booked this rental through Expedia, where my estimated total was around $200. I thought that was a great deal, especially since we were visiting Dallas for just a couple of days and planned to use the DART for most of our transportation. We really only needed a rental car occasionally, so I wasn’t looking for anything fancy.

Unfortunately, the experience ended up being far more expensive and frustrating than anticipated.

After landing, we took the airport shuttle to the rental car facility, only to discover that Easirent does not have a counter there. Instead, we had to take an additional shuttle to their off-site location. We were told this shuttle runs approximately every 20 minutes, but we waited closer to 30.

When the shuttle finally arrived, people seemed to come out of nowhere to board it. Despite having waited with our two children and luggage, we couldn’t get on before it filled up. Rather than wait another 30 minutes, I suggested that my husband leave his luggage with us, take the front seat, and return with the rental car to pick us up. He wasn’t thrilled about splitting up, but it seemed like the better option.

Unfortunately, things didn’t improve once he arrived at Easirent.

He encountered a very long line, and when he finally reached the counter, the additional fees started piling up. What we had expected to pay more than doubled.

I had carefully reviewed the rental information ahead of time and did not see anything that clearly prepared me for these additional charges. We have personal auto insurance that covers rental vehicles and even brought our insurance information with us. However, Easirent told my husband that our insurance would not cover crashes.

On top of that, there was a mandatory Texas toll pass costing $18 per day, along with a location surcharge, an airport concession fee, and other additional charges.

By this point, nearly two hours had passed since our flight landed. My husband ultimately decided to pay the charges and get on his way because the kids and I were still waiting at the airport rental facility.

But even after paying, the car wasn’t ready. It still needed to be cleaned.

When he finally got into the vehicle, it had only about a quarter tank of gas. However, the rental instructions stated that we were required to return it with a full tank. That was yet another frustrating detail.

Meanwhile, while the kids and I continued waiting, I watched another Easirent shuttle arrive. Once again, there weren’t enough seats for everyone waiting. I watched an older couple get turned away and left to wait for the next shuttle. Clearly, our experience wasn’t an isolated incident.

To be fair, the car itself was fine. It was nothing fancy, but I hadn’t requested anything fancy. We just needed something reliable to get us from point A to point B, and it served that purpose.

Returning the vehicle was also relatively easy. We dropped it off around 7:30 in the morning, and since we were the only customers there, the process went smoothly.

My biggest complaint isn’t necessarily the car itself. It’s the misleading impression of an inexpensive rental, the unexpected fees, the inconvenient off-site location, and the excessive amount of time wasted just trying to pick up a vehicle.

When you’re traveling with children, the last thing you want after a flight is to spend nearly two hours navigating shuttles, long lines, and unexpected charges.

The bottom line? If a rental price seems too good to be true, it probably is. By the time all the additional fees were added, I don’t believe we saved much, if anything, compared to renting from a more established company at the airport.

Even if we had saved money, the hassle simply wasn’t worth it.

I would gladly pay more upfront for a transparent price and a convenient pickup experience rather than go through this again.

I wanted to take a moment to thank Darren for his assistance when I picked up the car. I had uploaded all my documents ahead of time, and the entire process went smoothly and quickly. I truly appreciate his professionalism, helpfulness, and excellent customer service. Thank you for making the experience so easy and pleasant!
Keep up the great work!

Worst customer service ever

Worst customer service ever, no gas in car and they told me it was above their pay grade to insure gas was in car. Dirty as could be and totally unsafe to drive once I got down Hwy and it was rattling. Tire pressure at 24 on 2 tires. Dirty and console full of trash and spilled items. @$75 a day total scam. I was there for a funeral and got in at 8pm and couldn’t change. Do not rent at DFW!!!

Car smelled like cigarettes

Car smelled like cigarettes. The waiting room was not at the airport in a weird location. Car was dirty. Got upsold on a $60 toll package and there are no tolls where we are staying. Got charged a $250 deposit, which is not in any booking details. Would not recommend.

Exorbitant Toll Charges

I was never informed that there was no way to leave and return to this rental car location without being on a toll road, although it was only for about a tenth of a mile. Getting charged $56 for tolls is ridiculous and I will never use this company again when I fly into DFW.

Red Flags

Red Flags

This was not an airport location, even though it appeared in the search results when I searched for airport rentals on Expedia.
There was no direct shuttle service to the airport, contrary to what was indicated on Expedia.
I was only informed at pickup that there was no direct airport shuttle.
Despite checking in online, I still had to wait about 30 minutes to pick up the car.
I was told I would need to pay an additional $25 fee for driving out of state, or potentially face a $1,000 charge.
When returning the car before my flight, I was asked to wait in line for a vehicle inspection.
During the inspection, an employee examined the windshield of every car and pointed out multiple tiny rock chips that were not visible under normal conditions. These chips could only be seen upon very close inspection and were not visible in the photos I took, even when zooming in. As a result, there was no practical way to prove that the damage had not occurred during my rental period.
I took photos after the chips were marked, but the damage still could not be seen clearly in the images. Despite this, customers were being charged $250 for these minor windshield imperfections.
I had also purchased insurance through Expedia, but that coverage is handled by a separate company and involves a lengthy claims process. The rental company does not assist with that process.

Overall, this was one of the worst rental experiences I have ever had. The lack of transparency, unexpected fees, and difficult pickup and return processes left a very negative impression.

Issue summary: Unsafe Vehicle

Issue summary:

●
The vehicle had a bent rim, significant front-end shaking while driving, and indicated it was in need of an oil change.

●
When I reported these issues, staff stated the front-end problem was already known, and the manager dismissed my concerns.

●
I kept the vehicle until the return date because I was approximately 60 miles from the drop-off location and had no practical alternative. However, I limited my driving significantly and was unable to visit family/friends as planned due to concerns about safety.

●
Conditions at pickup included torrential rain, and I did not notice the full extent of the problems until the following morning in daylight.

Hidden charges, ill-equipped

Rented through a third party booking co who took a down payment to be applied as a "voucher" credit to the total cost. That voucher didn't get applied to balance. They didn't have two cars ready, but luckily had a van to fit us. Their two kids' car seats were not compliant or compatible with van, we had to go to a local store and buy car seats. They charged us $500 for a reduced hold on our credit card while renting the vehicle. Never gave us the option to put a full hold on credit card, which we would have opted for and saved the gauge. Silver lining, they did accommodate a last minute booking, which was appreciated.
