Background with a previous supplier:
I'm refurbishing the kitchen & bought 4 sets of new, but old-fashioned style copper lights from a *different company* (Bowley&Jackson - order #36211) which came with spun copper shades, solid brass bayonette fittings (with a cord stop), cloth wrapped cable, and solid brass ceiling roses (without cord stop). When they arrived, the products all seemed to be excellent quality.
However, my Electrician wouldn't fit them as the rose [bowleyandjackson dot co do uk / antique-cast-metal-ceiling-rose-for-pendant-shade] didn't meet building regs because there was;
1. no ceiling fixing kit supplied (or available on the website)
2. no way to take the lamp weight off the wiring connection
3. no earthing point physically connected to the metal rose
4. no space for a double earthed 'chocolate block' for wiring
5. no cord stop or cord protection as part of the rose
I contacted Bowley&Jackson but they didn't answer my emails.

DIY modifications:
I tried multiple adaptions, but nothing fit the rose. Most ceiling roses (at least for larger pendant lights) are designed to have an M10 thread for a cord stop, and most ceiling brackets are longer than the 50mm diameter internal space. In the end, other than heavily modifying & probably damaging the existing roses, I had to start from scratch & find something else.

Internet scouring:
I could find similar products, both bespoke & off the shelf, but nearly all of them only showed the aesthetic detail, with few having any technical details, or any mentions of size, standards, and many clearly written using AI and not much sign of other intelligence tbh - not even sense checks. You almost expect that now if from overseas, but our own big high street, quality retailers? ...not so much.

Finding Dowsing & Reynolds:
As a time-served Engineer of 35years (not an Electrician though) their website made me so happy... (I know that's probably weird but I'd been tearing my hair out over this).
The photos were thorough (not just the nice face you see when installed) and included every view and detail of the products that would enable you to make a fully informed decision about what you were getting.
The available .pdf documents were top quality;
a) general how-to for safely fitting & hanging pendant lights
b) specifically how-to for the actual product (because metal)
As someone who has spent time managing processes, procedures & some 7years as Lead Auditor, these are some of the best written, laid-out, intuitive instructions that I've seen in a while.
The ceiling roses arrived quickly, in sturdy packaging, with careful individual wrapping, and EXACTLY matched what was on the website. :-D
What's more, (after several iterations of me showing my Electrician various methods to fix the original roses & getting scathing feedback) he didn't even blink when I cautiously showed him these...so I'm very happy.
