Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Considering 32 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Consumers frequently struggle with unhelpful customer support, experiencing long delays, unreturned calls, and complicated warranty registration processes that make getting repairs nearly impossible. Many people also report that brand new equipment breaks down quickly, fails under normal working conditions, or arrives with missing parts. The minority of people were satisfied with the powerful performance of specific heavy-duty tools and older batteries that lasted through years of heavy use. Reviewers also noted that certain circular saws delivered exceptional cutting results and provided very satisfying overall results during projects.

Horrendous customer service

Well, over 3 months in and no joy customer services, no joy approaching their head office also. This company really does not care about customers. Next step consumer programmes and let everyone know their attitude publicly.

Shocking, an embarrassment to Dewalt

Unbelievable lack of empathy with the customer.

Ridiculous situation where Dewalt make errors on their website which prevents you registering your product to qualify for extended warranty, you would think that any reasonable company would honour the warranty.
They've lost my business and I'll switch to Makita as they actually care.

used to register my de walt tools…

used to register my de walt tools without any problem of which i have many. tried to log into my old account and couldnt. It was also a register for all my tools for insurance purposes which was very helpful . set up new account and tried to register my new tool, they make it so difficult if there is no manufacture date on the product. I gave up in the end , makes you think they are trying to get out of their guarantee obligations. A sign of the times i think, no customer loyalty anymore. All my tools are dewalt, which i think are very good quality but their website for registration is the pits. That was not the case previously, it was very user friendly , what went wrong?

May be time to DITCH Dewalt. Absolutely Shocking !!

May be time to DITCH Dewalt.

I tend to stay loyal to brands once I’ve found one with good quality and great customer service. I’ve been using Dewalt for decades and I used to think Dewalt fell into that bracket but now I’m woefully disappointed.

I’ve spent thousands over the years and recently bought a few Powerstack batteries, multitools, laser levels and drills.

Went to look on my account to ensure the extended 3yr warranty was in place only to see some of my tools not showing. Weeks of emails to Rick and their ‘back office’ and as others have found, due to a change in their own IT system, there is no extended warranty showing. I still have the immaculate tools in original boxes, with original purchase receipts from authorised dealers, but they won’t do anything.

So much for loyalty !!

After being with them for years, I’d never thought to look at Dewalt’s current customer service reviews, but it seems the figures don’t lie. Likewise, there seems to be no replies from their customer service or PR teams in response either. My email replies have also dried up.

Probably time to sell up and jump to Makita or Milwaukee tools.

Come on Dewalt, turn this around !!!

My Wife bought me a Dewalt combi drill…

My Wife bought me a Dewalt combi drill with 2 batteries Christmas eve 2021, hadn't used until about a week/ 2 weeks before Christmas 2022. I used the drillon a loft boarding job & all was going well until the battery ran out & had to change to the 2nd battery & put on charge the 1st one I was using. I tried the drill & nothing, tried putting it on charge & again nothing. I contacted Dewalt before the warranty was up & the asked for roof of purchase which I wasn't sure was with myself or my bookkeeper, so I went into B&Q to see if I could get a copy of receipt, they told me I would have to contact head office which I tried & got transferred to several different numbers. I went back to B&Q explained & the gave me a duplicate receipt which I submitted to Dewalt customer service who tried to tell me it was now out of warranty I explained I contacted them before the warranty was up but was just getting passed from "pillar to post." Dewalt then asked me to send pictures of the drill, batteries, serial numbers etc which I did & which showed the drill & accessories were brand new only to be kept "too-ing" & "fro-ing" with emails for several months only to be told they won't replace the "single" battery. I find this service appalling & will buy Makitta or other products from now on on hope this warns other people of none helpful, huge company like Dewalt who are making a lot of money & then not willing to help with a small matter. I wasn't asking for a full replacement, just for the broken "new" battery.🤬🤬🤬🤬

DeWalts Joke 3 year guarantee

DeWalt migrated the 3 year guarantee to a new website which most people trying to claim on the guarantee cannot access. Pathetic customer service and generally cheap Chinese tools which fail. Not a brand I will continue with in the future .

Fantastic Products, worse than terrible customer service !

Ill make this a simple as i can, so to avoid any confusion.
I purchase my first Dewalt product, registered for an account so I could claim my extra 2 years warranty before I even received my lovely new Dewalt product.
Once received I the product I went straight ahead to try and register the product, which I was unable to do as there was something wrong on the Dewalt's website that came back with an error, I tried on numerous browsers just to make sure and also tried this on numerous occasions, I then purchased another product I then sent them an email to mention to them about this fact and could they register the products and get the website sorted so that people could use it to register their products in future.
Expecting them to eventually come back to me with a resolution, I moved on with my life believing that they would come back with a resolution, but this never came.

Since then I have purchased two more products, both of which I was able to register fine on the website, so I thought I would just get in touch with them again to discuss why my products where not registered, that is when the fun began !
Basically they couldn't be less concerned and like politicians just deflected everything I put to them and made me feel like I was just wasting my time even getting in touch, all in all a very shoddy affair and something I would like people be aware of if expecting fantastic customer service from what I expected from a superb tool maker.

To top the whole thing off, they were even child like in their response, saying that they had totally wasted their time and mine, when in fact better just stating they couldn't be mithered helping me out in the first place.
I wasted around 2 hours of my time for absolutely nothing and it left a very bad taste in my mouth by a company I least expected it from, so they proceeded to remove my account so that i couldn't even get in touch with them, how immature.

So you think DeWalt is a reputable company suppling quality products? Think again.

In January 2022 I purchased an 18v XR drill with two 5Ah batteries, and registered for a 3 year extended warranty. Battery No1 failed in March 2022 and was replaced with a new one. Battery No2 failed in November 2022 and was replaced with a new one. The replacement battery No2 failed in January 2023 but DeWalt were adamant that batteries are not covered by the extended warranty and, replacements only carry the original purchase date. As it was now 2 weeks outside the 1 year warranty, they refused to cover it. My protestations that it was less than 2 months old got nowhere. I suggested they should investigate a potential quality control fault (unless batteries are generally only expected to last a couple of months) but still got nowhere. I should emphasise that these have only had light use for DIY purposes. To add insult to injury, the chuck isn't working properly but apparently chucks aren't included in the extended warranty either. So, after many years purchasing DeWalt products, I am now a very disgruntled 'customer who will never buy another. Clearly they are no longer the reputable supplier of quality products they used to be and I suggest you look elsewhere.

Dewalt is drowning

On Home Depot’s official website ordered Dewalt cordless drill kit DCD797D2. One battery pack is not responding not on the drill itself and not on charger. Next day made my trip to Home Depot for replacement. They didn’t have it in stock. So representative told me that I can order online again, which I did. Today I got a package with my replacement of the same model Dewalt. Opened the box… Battery pack which is on the drill is not responding again not in charger neither. And this drill kit has weariness signs, scratches on the battery packs and drill driver itself.
Very disappointed with Home Depot and Dewalt

Horrendous customer service

Horrendous customer service.
Called Dewalt to find a product, heatgun DCE530B. It's nowhere available in Canada.
1st agent said it's available in the US and transferred me to Dewalt Canada. Only that when you select dewalt in the phone menu, it redirects you back to dewalt Canada.
Next agent Anita was useless, did not listen to anything I said, kept talking over me, kept says Canadian Tire and Home Depot have the product, which they don't.
Kept giving me false information, and did not anything and did not appear to show any interest in figuring out what was going on on the supply side. Why the product is out of stock everywhere in Canada and when would it become available again.

Dewalt tool that is not supported by dewalt :(

I bought DEWALT Air Compressor Combo Kit with Brad Nailer (DWC1KIT-B) from Dewalt web store in Amazon. When asked what is the size of the connector so I can buy a second air hose ot attach to it, I was told that this is not a dewalt product, it is an outsourced product and they don't support it. I just wander how many other outsourced products are there that carry the name dewalt but actually are not supported by dewalt.

So disappointing! Me thinking I am paying extra money for a quality product:(

Never again I am bying a dewalt product

Yet again I’ve fell for it

Yet again I’ve fell for it. I bought a dewalt circler saw today and spent over an hour trying to register it under the 3 year warranty. (With no luck it won’t accept the codes) It’s the third time this has happened to me. You’d think I would of learned my lesson by now. Obviously not, it’s an outright con. Stay clear folks buy makita or Milwaukee.

I bought a £600 thicknesser with 3 year warranty and when It broke down they told me they would not honour ththat e warranty because I did not have a copy of the certificate they sent after it was registered. When asked whether they could see warranty had been registered I was told the service department could not see that. Absolutely ridiculous - it is your own system guys - once ive registered it you should be able to see it.

poor quality Dewalt battery charges

I recently purchased a Dewalt bundle after owning a drill and impact drill kit, all of which have hardly been used but I have issues with both battery charges which do not work properly, one as a constant red light showing battery full when not, the other you have to put some weight on top of the battery when docked on the charger to get it to work properly. poor quality will go back to cheap reliable Hitachi.

I have the tough case with the various bits in it. Phillips, square, torx, flat, it's the yellow case it says tough case on the back. I put one small pack of silica gel in it and put it in my toolbox. I am not a professional I use these just around the house. They were in there about 6 months. I went to get them out and they were totally rusted. They were sitting in my garage in a toolbox. I do live in Ohio with fluctuating temperatures but this stuff is garbage. And they have lost a customer. Used to be a good brand but now their crap is made in China with the cheapest metal possible.
