DeerWood Construction recently converted our garage, creating a fantastic second office/playroom and a separate utility room. They also laid new flooring throughout the house, installed underfloor heating, and extended and fitted a brand-new kitchen.

I highly recommend them. They’re genuinely great guys — reliable, skilled, and incredibly hardworking. They showed up every single day, regardless of the weather, always on time, and kept everything spotless. With a busy household, kids, and a dog, they were so considerate and made sure the work caused as little disruption as possible.

Their attention to detail is outstanding. I’m very particular, and they exceeded every expectation. They’re efficient, professional, and clearly know their craft inside out.

We’ll definitely be having DeerWood Construction back for future projects. Couldn’t rate them more highly.

Our garage conversion was great from start to finish. From the quote, through all the discussions to make a bespoke space for us, through to the top quality workmanship. Nothing was too much trouble for Nick and Ash who were hardworking, personable and friendly. We couldn't have asked for a better building company. Highly recommended.

We employed Deerwood Construction to carry out an extension to our house. From the very first meeting and all the way through the construction phase Nick and Ash were a pleasure to deal with. Always at hand to answer any questions we had and we are delighted with the end product. The new space has given us exactly what we were looking for and we could not be happier with our new space.

Nick and Ashley are experienced builders who spent 6 months with us (through a very wet winter) carrying out extensive refurbishment works to our cottage. We found them to be reliable, trustworthy and they were easy to 'have around the place'. The billing process was clear and well itemised. Importantly, they always turned up when they said they would and their communication was excellent.

Nick and Ash have been extremely professional and courteous during the time they spent working on our extension and other home improvements. They clearly listed out the job and if there were extras (often at our request) these were priced and agreed ahead of undertaking them. They always provided sound and unbiased advice, often recommending sensible and pragmatic solutions to our suggestions. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them and have booked them for some further works later this year.

Nick and Ashley built a really fantastic 2 storey outbuilding for us. They are highly competent and experienced builders and are proactive with lots of ideas and suggestions if changes or improvements to the original plan are needed. They are incredibly hard workers, starting early every day and working through whatever the weather. They coordinate all the external trades so you can just hand over the whole thing to them. The timber cladding and unusual roof covering we chose are beautifully detailed by them - we are very happy. We've since had them back to sort out a couple of replacement sheds and have recommended them to several friends doing work who have booked them in!

We will be having Deerwood back shortly for a third project in the last two years. Great people, fantastic standard of work and nothing is too much trouble. Nick is responsive and has a ‘can do’ attitude, carrying out a full range of internal and external projects. We can’t recommend him and his team highly enough.

Deerwood Construction will Always be my “Go To” builders. Recently they carried out a major extension and re-construction of my home. I cannot fault them in any way, shape or form. They are Honest, Upright, Exceedingly Helpful with excellent knowledgeable ideas.
This is the third time I have used this company. The first time was to construct a kitchen diner from 3 rooms and another time to create an én suite Wet room.
They have very good knowledge of what will - and will Not, work in any given situation. They were most useful for me as I don’t have design ideas in my head so being advised was Very important to me especially as I amp on my own.
They were ALWAYS on time

They were, at ALL times, polite, respectful and courteous as were ALL of the tradespeople who worked on the project. Not once did I hear them ‘effing and blinding‘ as I had last year when I needed specialists contractor to remove Asbestos.It was as though those contractors didn’t know any other words!!!!
I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND Deerwood Construction for any project that you may have. Even the few snagging problems that arose were dealt with swiftly without complaint.
All of the contractors, from the roof down to the ground were also very skilled and I could not have been more pleased with all of them.

Interesting that there are so many repeat customers for a business that has only been operating for one year.

Deerwood Construction have undertaken a number of projects for us on our house and garden including a large gazebo, seating area, boardwalk and refurbished an existing patio. They installed a new bathroom from scratch which has the wow factor and we are incredibly pleased with. All the work carried out was to the highest standard with excellent advice and we would definitely recommend them and use them again for any future projects. Sue

Deerwood Construction have done a few jobs for me at work and at home, always good quality work and always offer sensible suggestions to get the best result from the budget. They have recently done some landscaping with brick retaining walls, raised planters and sandstone paving. It all looks great and has transformed the space. Very happy with the work and would strongly recommend.

We have used Deerwood on more than one occasion and we have been happy to recommended them to friends and family. Often builders have a bad reputation but, these guys really care and go the extra mile to do a good job. We did a conversion of a (dilapidated) Victorian stables into an annex; in spite of some onerous building control requirements, the project went very smoothly and the end result was a warm, comfortable space, which everyone commented positively about. More recently, Deerwood built a garden cabin / office for us - the quality exceeded expectations and gave us really useful flexible space. On each occasion, were always kept informed and everything was agreed an 100% transparent. Most of their work is through personal recommendation - we would certainly be happy to recommend. To be honest, we would not use anyone else and, having recently moved, we already have another project with Deerwood planned!

I employed Deerwood Construction Ltd to build a 2 storey extension to replace an existing garage and to carry out major works to our house. The work was supposed to take 14 weeks but took 24 weeks due to them keep leaving the job to do other jobs, including working on the garden next door.
The owner had building materials for the neighbours garden works all delivered to my drive, when I questioned this he became abusive.
He overcharged me on extras including £3900 for the supply and fit of 6 radiators which I managed to obtain a receipt for only to discover they cost £486!! I was double charged for items included in the scope of works such as plastering costing £3700.
I was charged extra for work done without my prior agreement.
He ordered windows and doors despite being told by the architect to get a cheaper quote, he got a quote but didn't present it for a decision. The doors were left with missing screws in the hinges, various faults such as mould along the beading, they need to be refitted & I wasn't given any keys.
He worked with his son who had no skills at all and messed up everything he did but if I mentioned it he would fly into a mood and leave the site.
He was a controlling bully and made me feel uncomfortable in my own home.
The workmanship is poor the decorating needs re doing, no snagging has been done.
He worked with an architect for whom his last 4 jobs have been with him. They both ganged up on me and lied to cover up for each other. The tender process was dishonest, only 2 builders quoted so it was impossible to know the proper cost of the job. I have now paid £1200 for a surveyors defects report but he refuses to put right the defective work/snagging or refund me for what I’ve paid. The company have no money behind them. I was their first customer after their previous company went bust with debts of £670,000 in August 2020, which I wasn’t told. I would not recommend them to anyone. I am a widow and this was supposed to be a new start for me and my children, but they completely ruined it and I am owed more than £50,000 in overcharging and defective work. I would advise anyone to steer well clear of them.
