Parking Fine
My father correctly got a parking fine which he paid over the telephone immediately but the ticketing company didn’t send a receipt and denied having received the payment.
The company Rachael works for was asked to get the nonexistent debt.
Rachael was very helpful and understanding. I sent bank statements several times to prove that it had been paid well within 14 days and eventually with Rachael’s help they accepted that it had been paid and the case was closed with no outstanding balance.
I received a parking fine in April…
I received a parking fine in April which I disputed and I didn't hear nothing about it until I received a dept collection letter from dept recovery. I called them and was told that smart parking ltd sent me an email on 21/05/26 to say that my appeal was rejected, I advised that I didn't receive anything and that I had been regularly searching my emails by typing in smart parking but nothing came up, it wasn't until I scrolled through hundreds of emails did I find the response which was sent to me from citysmarti. I spoke to Mike at dept recovery and although he couldn't do nothing about the fine he did offer to set up a payment plan and said that if the parking company accepts my complaint to them then they would be happy to refund me, so I paid in full and am now waiting for a response from the complaints department at smart parking.
Just had an amazing convo with Patrick…
Just had an amazing convo with Patrick he explained how these car park companies work and helped me to make a decision, I urge anyone to ring them if you get a letter and they will explain hey they don’t take you to court and it goes back to the car park company and whether they take you to court is 50/50 but he’s put my mind at rest. I only stayed over 8 mins and tried to pay within 14 days but didn’t receive the letter till after the date.
Wrong case; bad communication
I recieved a letter from Debt Recovery Plus for a PCN that i hadn't received. I called asking for an email address to share the parking payment receipt (proof that i paid for parking on the date of the PCN) but hte lady declined and said I should present the recceipt when the case goes to court!
I called again the next day and the guy ended up hanging up!
This debt recovery company acts on…
This debt recovery company acts on behalf of Parking Collection Services (PCS), and my overall experience has been extremely frustrating.
There is no proper customer service or direct telephone line to speak with someone about your case. The only contact numbers available are automated payment lines, making it almost impossible to discuss a dispute or obtain assistance.
My PCN went through the appeal process, but I do not believe the decision properly considered the evidence I submitted. After my appeal was rejected, the charge increased from £60 to £100. In many parking cases, motorists are given the opportunity to pay the original amount for a limited period after an unsuccessful appeal. In my case, the charge increased immediately, which I found unfair and unreasonable.
What is even more disappointing is the lack of communication. I raised concerns with the British Parking Association and also sent several emails to Parking Collection Services requesting clarification, but I received no meaningful response.
Rather than engaging with customers and responding to legitimate queries, the matter was simply referred to debt recovery. This gives the impression that recovering payment is prioritised over resolving disputes in a fair and transparent manner.
Overall, this has been a very poor experience. I would expect companies operating in the private parking sector to provide accessible customer service, respond to correspondence within a reasonable timeframe, and deal with appeals and complaints professionally and fairly.
I have to call twice today on hold…
I have to call twice today on hold 10minutes no reply they are chasing a debt for parking for Standsted airport which was paid on the day. I did call Standard parking a manager was meant to call me back within 72 hours instead received a letter from these guys
My experience with Debt Recovery Plus…
My experience with Debt Recovery Plus has been extremely frustrating.
While I understand the role of debt recovery companies, I found the process to be heavily focused on demanding payment rather than helping to resolve the underlying dispute.
In my case, I genuinely believed that payment had been attempted at the parking machine, yet there was no practical opportunity to discuss the circumstances with DRP or provide evidence before receiving repeated demands. Instead, I was directed back and forth between the parking operator and the debt recovery company, making it unnecessarily difficult to resolve the issue.
The volume and tone of the correspondence created significant stress, particularly where there was a genuine dispute about whether a payment had failed due to a technical issue rather than deliberate non-payment.
I would have appreciated a more transparent process, clearer communication, and a genuine willingness to assist customers in resolving disputed cases before escalating recovery action.
The call handler was very good but
The call handler was very good - no issues. However I keep getting chased letters for a charge which has been cancelled. Call handler quickly verified this and has promised to update their systems. I live in hope

So these scumbags emailed this evening…
So these scumbags emailed this evening telling me that the non payment of the parking charge has gone from £60 to £170, then it will rise to £280. Where is the justification for being 15 minutes outside of the free parking at 6PM? It's complete and utter greed. The parking meter doesn't even work past 6PM. Take me to court you jerks, I will fight you greedy scumbags all the way. Does Ingoldmells want people to visit their town, because it's put me off ever visiting again.
Exceptional Customer Service
My call to the service was handled by Emma L'Estrange, and I'd like to thank her for her kind approach and efficient service. Sometimes you make a significant difference to someone's day without even knowing it, and that's exactly what Emma did today. Thank you
Unsafe payment portal, broken customer service, and absolute denial of accountability.
tried to pay my scheduled installment online today, but my antivirus software (TotalAV) completely blocked their payment portal (payments.debtrecoveryplus.co.uk), warning me of a critical threat regarding malicious activity and potential data theft.
When I went onto their live chat to report this and try to find a safe way to settle the balance online, the agent (Leigh) completely dismissed the security warning, falsely claimed they "don't have an email address" for correspondence, and then abruptly closed the chat on me.
When I emailed their complaints team directly to resolve the issue and protect my data, they tried to deflect responsibility by sending an automated message telling me to use an online form instead of dealing with a major security complaint. They expect consumers to compromise their financial data on a flagged website rather than fixing their own IT infrastructure. Completely unprofessional, hostile customer service, and a total lack of data safety compliance. Avoid.

Racheal was really good and communicated well during our phone call.
Claims we failed to respond!
I used Manchester Airport Station Drop-off where you need to pay online by midnight tomorrow (no more option to pay on exit). I forgot I need to make a payment as soon as I left the airport. By the time I remembered the deadline has passed.
I finally received a latter this week (almost 2 months later) saying that I have failed to respond to previous letter.
THERE HAVE BEEN NO PREVIOUS LETTERS!
I now have no option but to pay £170, as they have given me 3 days to pay and no option to query.
Helpful staff member - Kiren
I had been incorrectly charged for a fine by APCOA. When I called DRP I spoke to a guy who was not very helpful. I ended up having to call again and Kiren dealt with my case. She provided me a contact email, informed me of the process and kept me up to date. Very grateful to her for sorting this for me!
Great service
Great service. Sorted by a phone call which did not take long to go through.

After a very awful first call with another advisor, I was dubious about ringing again. But today I spoke with Rachael who was fantastic, really helped me out, advised everything I needed, and rang back when needed, she was super helpful, very knowledgeable, sorted my issue and hopefully will be able to help further.
This company handled my case in a very efficient way.
This company handled my case very thoroughly and I have to say that Telephone negotiator Rachael Ward was very efficient and was very polite and courteous to me at all times.
Kathleen Arton
Smashed it guys, well done!
Owning a vehicle rental company running hundreds of vehicles we receive many debt recovery letters due to PCN's/speeding fines. Dealing with Carlos & Monica @ DRP was easy, they put the case on hold whilst I gathered evidence from the DVLA and dealt with me in a professional manner. There are a lot of other debt recovery businesses that could learn a lot from DRP & their team!!
Car Parking
Mike listened to my explanation and after an email exchange he has helped me. Thank you
