Following my correspondence appearing on the Trustpilot site last June and Dancenter’s performative apology stating that compensation would be paid, I received a separate email informing me that the local office had agreed to refund the payment for the undelivered linen. When I replied that we were also due a refund for a ruined holiday, cut short by not having bed linen, Dancenter replied that absence of linen would not usually be considered grounds for cutting short a holiday. Wow!!!
It would take all day to recount my subsequent communication with DansCenter. Four months later, I have neither received the promised refund for the missing bed linen or any compensation for the ruined holiday. The only course appears to be the legal one or the Danish organisation Awkenaevnet for Feriehusudlejning, which investigates complaints against companies letting holiday homes.

Made a booking via Expedia over 9 months ago. However only closer to the date did they demand a large deposit from me for which they are unwilling to return less undisclosed extra charges they cannot explain. And then they co-erce into a massive cleaning fee that almost the cost of the booking or they charge a cleaning audit fee which they won't disclose in advance at the time of booking what it is.
At the actual holiday home, there was no heat despite being 5C at night -> which was not disclosed in advance.
In trying to deal with customer, they respond in understanding the inquiry but repeatedly fail on followup to deliver anything via telephone or email.
Given what I paid, I would have been better off at a hotel with heat, customer service and few unpleasant surprises.

EDIT: after writing this review the deposit has been returned, I can’t say whether or not the review had anything to do with it, but I nevertheless had to speak to them over the phone 3 times and write a bad review before anything happened
I booked a house through Dancenter in the beginning of September, in that regard everything was great, the house was fine. My issue is with the deposit, according to Dancenter the deposit is supposed to be refunded a maximum of 21 days after checking out, which has not happened in my case. I’ve been in contact with their support on phone, THREE times, every time I’ve been promised that my refund should be there by the end of the week, mind you they’ve done that three times in a row and so far no deposit has been refunded. I’ve asked to speak to a manager, and got told they don’t have one, which seems convenient.
I can’t recommend it at all

We have been using DanCenter for years in Denmark, but this last summer has been awfull.
We had booked a house for 2 weeks in a selected area where DanCenter has almost all houses to rent.
When we arrived, the cleaning hadn't been check by the company :
- dirty sheets from previous family were still there
- the fridge hadn't been cleaned
- the vaccum cleaner was in the middle of the entrance
- and most of all : the washing machine wasn't functuning !!
we struggled during all 2 weeks to have it fixed. I sent emails, called but when a very nice worker came to check-out on it, all he could say was that they had phoned the owner and would replace it asap. But NOTHING !! we had to wash all our clothes by hand (and my daughter had 2 weeks of dirty clothes after a summer camp)and we were lucky the weather was good in order to hang the clothes in the garden to dry (there was nothing to hang the clothes indoors).
on departure day, DanCenter was very quick to ask for paying for the electricity. But we've been struggling since August to have a compensation for not having the washing machine and they are just dismissing our request pretexting that some came to visit. NOT ACCEPTABLE.

Nice house, good inventar og comfortable beds! I recommend taking a portable grill with you as the house does not have one. And the only problem we encountered was a nonfunctioning washing machine.

Loved to stay in this holiday home for the third time.

Nice house, good inventar and comfortable beds. The only thing missing was a grill, and the only thing that didn’t work was the washing machine.

I will always use Dan Center to book holiday homes in Denmark.
They are professional and easy to teach if you have a problem or need help, advice or recommendations.
Why risk an unchecked website when you can deal with a person?

Great House for the Price
Unfortunatly I have to change this Review:
After our stay, part of the security deposit was withheld without any prior notice, allegedly to cover cleaning costs such as “cleaning the grill,” “emptying dishwashers,” and “removing bed linen.”
These charges make no sense — there was only one grill, two dishwashers, and three toilets, yet the invoice listed 13 items for each.
When I contacted DanCenter, I only received a standard reply claiming that “extra time and effort” had been required, without any proof or detailed explanation.
I find this practice non-transparent and unfair. If the final cleaning is paid for, there should not be additional, unexplained deductions afterwards.
I have since referred the case to the European Consumer Centre for review.

Absolutely horrible experience with multiple serious issues. Only after filling an official complaint with The Appeals Board for Holiday Home Rental (Ankenævnet for Feriehusudlejning) we got our money back. That is after trying to reason with DanCenter for over a month.

Avoid DanCenter at all costs!
We booked a house through Airbnb for a week as three families, and the experience was terrible from start to finish.
When we arrived, the place was dirty—we had to clean it ourselves before settling in. The house smelled strongly of mould, and the sandbox in the garden was full of cat litter. These were just a few of the issues.
The worst part came after our stay. We spent over 8 hours cleaning before leaving in the evening (earlier than required), yet a month later DanCenter claimed we had left the house dirty and charged us 2,500 DKK. This was not only untrue, but also against Airbnb’s rules, which state that hosts must make claims within 14 days of checkout.
On top of that, they inflated the costs for electricity and water, and we received an invoice in addition to the 5,000 SEK deposit we had already paid.
This has been the worst rental experience we’ve ever had. DanCenter is unprofessional, dishonest, and should be avoided.

I booked a holiday home in Denmark through Booking.com for August 2025.
Due to a medical emergency, I had to cancel before arrival. I accepted the non-refundable policy for the accommodation itself, but requested a refund for unused services that were never delivered:
€107 - electricity deposit
€84 - bed linen
€170 - final cleaning
Here’s what happened:
1. I first called DanCenter to inform them. I was told to send full medical documentation to prove the emergency. I did - which means they now hold all my sensitive personal data (medical records, ID, address).
2. I then cancelled in writing on August 4th and 7th. No response.
3. Later, DanCenter sent me this message:
>“We have received confirmation from our local office that you have checked-in at the property. Due to this, we regret to inform you that we are unable to process a refund for the linen package and final cleaning costs.”
This is completely false - I never even left my home country (Poland).
4. Meanwhile, Booking.com support wrote to me:
“As Booking.com, we don’t mind cancelling this free of charge and refund you. But all we need is the property’s written confirmation to guarantee your right, when we cancel they will not charge you with anything. That’s why we have tried to reach them many times, I encourage you to get in touch with them directly…”
So here’s the situation in plain words:
DanCenter lied that I checked in, to block a refund of unused services.
Booking admits they want to refund, but instead of fixing it with their partner, they told me to chase DanCenter directly - even though I am their customer, not DanCenter’s.
And DanCenter still holds my sensitive medical data, which they never had a right to process in the first place.
I am escalating this to the European Consumer Centre (ECC) and the EU ODR platform, but I also want to warn others: if something goes wrong, DanCenter may not only refuse refunds, but also lie about your stay, misuse your personal data, and Booking.com will push you to deal with it yourself.

We cancelled our booking and received a confirmation from DanCenter in June. It then took over two months and a lot of calling and Emailing to finally get our refund (to the point of needing a lawyer), which was already frustrating enough. But now, we’ve received a payment reminder claiming we haven’t paid for the cancelled booking. This is completely unacceptable.
Clearly, there’s a serious issue with DanCenter’s internal communication. One department has no idea what the other is doing. It was a battle just to get the booking cancelled and the money refunded—and now we’re being chased for payments that don’t even apply.
This whole experience has been chaotic and stressful. I will never book with DanCenter again and I strongly advise others to stay away. If you value your time, money, and peace of mind, look elsewhere.

After reporting severe cleanliness issues upon arrival via the automatic defect report email, I received no response. When I followed up, I was told that no such email had been received, and since the 48-hour window had passed, every further inquiry and request for compensation was rejected. Even the timestamps of the photos I had taken for the initial report were considered irrelevant. With a cleaning fee of €190 and such serious deficiencies, this is an absolutely incomprehensible approach from customer service. We will no longer consider DanCenter in the future.

We arrived on Saturday after two days of driving over 1100km with our three Kids. We had booked the same house as four years ago, and again with dancenter. As we opened the front door we saw that the house was not cleaned at all. Food on the floor and the sofa. Hair and sand in the beds. Lets not speak about the bathroom.... We tried to reach the dancenter office in Ahlbeck by phone and the customer service but had no luck. It was Saturday 6:30 p.m. and so we got some cleaning stuff and cleaned the house for 2,5 hours. Finally our kids we're able to get some sleep after a long and exhausting travel. We took a lot of pictures and sent them to the customer Service Email as well as to the booking email adress on the next day. Until now (tuesday) we only got two lines of standard "sorry for your inconvenience, but you should have contacted us per Email on Saturday.... " No other contact to the customer service possible. If we try It by phone we dont get anybody on the line. We wrote another eMail to the office in Ahlbeck today with the requests to contact us by phone or email. No answers up to now...
We booked several houses in the last 18 years in Denmark and Sweden with several providers, but never ever experienced such a bad customer service. I think Dancenter is now on my Blacklist....

Good communication prior to holiday. Relatively smooth check in process with good instructions. Some inaccuracies with locating the water meter due to incorrect picture being displayed on instructions but otherwise all good.
Would recommend.
