We booked what we thought would be the…
We booked what we thought would be the holiday of a lifetime.
We flew to Chicago and traveled through the Rocky Mountains ,described as unbelieveable scenery on the Empire Builder train ran by Amtrak.Followed by a 7night Alaska cruise.
We flew out with American Airlines and sailed with Nowegian Criselines.
We upgraded as much as we could within reason , flight seats, the train and cruise.
On boarding the the train we were greeted by very abrupt Amtrak staff who although at the time of booking the cruise nation Rep assured my wife we had booked and paid extra for a private room on the train with private facilities, they told us we had a two seat roomette and shared facilities.
The shared toillet had no running water for the whole journey and was at times digusting. The shared shower also had no running water which meant we spent two days without washing facilities again disgusting.
Although my wife stipulated at time of booking we would not travel without our own facilities , Cruise Nation failed to book them.although at the time of booking guaranteeing we had them.This made our sleeping conditions horendous.and the rest worse.
We were then informed our flight home had been transfered to British Airways, even though we had already paid for our seats with AA. We had to pay two hundred pounds to BA , to book seats with them. Cruise Nation were of absalutely no help in getting our AA money refunded. Instead pleading ignorance of any responsability.
The advertising of the train describes breath taking scenery of the Rocky Mountains, after a day and a half of travelling through flat prairie land we reached the Rockies, unfortuately by that time it was dusk and and by daylight we had passed through the mountains without seeing anything. Totally mislead and miss sold,we seen nothing of described scenery.
Since we returned I have been in touch with Cruise Nation ,telling them of the things we paid for but did not receieve.
They refuse to accept any resposability for this disaster of a holiday.
Thankfully the cruise was alright.
But to put a tin hat on everything else, we had seats at the back of the plane, and they ran out of a choice of food.
My advice to anyone is stay away from the holiday we thought we had booked , its nothing like the description given by Cruise Nation. And also double, double, and check again what you think you have booked with Cruise Nation , because the are awfull to help with any calamaties even if it was their fault.

Booked a cruise for my 30th wedding…
Booked a cruise for my 30th wedding anniversary as a surprise and quickly found out my wife had got in first with a surprise for me on the same dates. Spoke to Kimberley the day after booking in a mild panic and she couldn’t have been more helpful. The best customer service I have experienced in many years, all solved and everyone happy. Fantastic customer service
Mary was my advisor . She was knowledgable , patient, helpful and personable. I felt she went above and beyond her duties to help me book a cruise. I have used other companies before to book cruises and have been disappointed with their lack of knowledge so this is why I chose to try a different one Cruise Nation. Laura gave exceptional service. The hotel we had booked for was being closed during our planned vacation. She took care of everything for us, including checking with the new hotel regarding provision for my guide dog.
