display unit from Catten

purchased a display unit from Cattelan through Fishpools last year, and the entire experience has been nothing short of unacceptable. The item arrived with broken parts, and when their team came to “fix” it, they actually caused further damage.

Since then, I’ve been left waiting indefinitely for a replacement part that has still not arrived, rendering the unit completely unusable. Months have passed with no proper resolution.

The level of service has been extremely poor—disorganised, unprofessional, and frankly dismissive. Communication has been impolite and unhelpful throughout. This has been a frustrating and disappointing experience from start to finish, and I would strongly advise others to think twice before purchasing from them.

Just recieved an order of the Chantel Display case, shattered.

Just recieved an order of the Catalan Italia Chantal Display cabinet from the supplier Casadesign in Italy.
Its arrived very broken. Im on Madeira Island, Portugal, this location of mine was well known, the item was placed onto a pallet (at our request) for our collection by our courier, following the arrival here we discovered the brakage on the delivery lorry, however when we looked deeper and just opened the side of the box on the pallet, there is virtually Zero interior protection!!!! I found this absolutely unaccetable, a fragile item was not protected, this is a serious ´´care´´ fault of the factory.
In my home I have many Catalan Italia items, however this packaging was different to all other items I recieved from the company, the Item was left loose inside the pallet, its basically a disgraceful way to send fragile items that are the responsibility of the customer once it leaves the Catalan Italia factory.
So dissapointed as I have no Item.... We know we took a risk with a glass item shipping, but this really was negligence from the factory. Not correct for a company who is an iternational exporter.

Title: Disappointed with design and lack of warnings

I’m disappointed with my experience with a Cattelan Italia table. When we moved it, the table was damaged because the design doesn’t allow the metal supports to be reached from underneath, meaning it can’t be lifted safely. There were no warnings in the product information about this, and nothing from the manufacturer to explain the risk.
When I contacted the company, they refused to help, even though none of these limitations were mentioned at the time of purchase. For a premium brand, I expected clearer guidance and better support.
Sharing this so others are aware.

Update: I have already emailed their customer service twice, so they should have my purchase details. The table broke the first time we tried to move it after several years of normal use. I was quoted a very high price for a replacement top, which to me doesn’t feel like meaningful customer support.

Beautiful Designs, But Misleading Images and Disappointing Execution

As a long-time admirer of Italian furniture design, I had high expectations for Cattelan Italia. Unfortunately, my experience with their Billy Wood table has been a significant letdown, and I cannot recommend ordering their products.

The table I received does not match the advertised product images. On the official website, the legs are clearly shown in a warm bronze finish, which matched perfectly with another item I own (the Yago coffee table). However, what I received had plain grey legs, which look entirely different and far less refined.

The images used on the website are clearly misleading, either due to heavy retouching or inaccurate representation of the actual materials and finishes. This is especially unacceptable at this price level and for a manufacturer of Cattelan Italia’s reputation.

Additionally, the production time was excessively long. The delivery, through MiliaShop, took a total of 13 weeks, far beyond the 8 weeks that had been estimated. This suggests not only poor planning but also a lack of transparency around realistic delivery timelines.

When I raised the issue, the manufacturer stood by their product and refused to acknowledge any discrepancy between what was delivered and what is advertised. This shows a clear lack of accountability and customer care.

To summarize:

Delivered product (grey legs) did not match official images (bronze legs)

Website imagery is misleading

Unacceptably long production time

Refusal to admit or correct discrepancies

Cattelan Italia may offer beautiful designs on paper, but the execution, customer support, and honesty behind the product are deeply disappointing. I urge potential buyers to think twice before placing an order.

Emerald Mirror turns black

I bought Emerald Mirror. After less than a year, this mirror is full of black ugly spots that come from de-silvering, Cattelan Company ignored my complaint, retail handler can’t help. I don’t recommend this product because of poor quality and bad customer service.

Do Not Buy Products from this Company

Really wish we had read the prior reviews before purchasing anything from Cattelan Italia. This company was recommended to us by a very high-end furniture store in DC. We spent $9K on a shelving system that took over 4 months to arrive and came damaged and had a missing part. Instead of apologizing and telling us what they could do to remedy the situation, the company lectured us on their production schedule before finally taking another 4 months to deliver the parts. This company has very poor customer service. Do not recommend.

Awful, awful company with no respect for customer

Awful. If I could leave no stars, I would. We bought a 4k dining table via a dealer in the UK and the swivel does not turn as it's very, very stiff. The dealers' fitters came and tried to rectify the issue but they said it's a manufacturer problem. They have taken ages to get back to the dealer and to date, still no response on how they are going to rectify the situation. We have had this faulty table for about 5 months now. They do not care about the customers as long as they get their money. Please, please avoid this company. Absolute shambles.

We bought 6 leather chairs for our… kitchen from IQ Furniture in Amersham the chairs are Norma couture, Ecoleather was wrapped around the legs,the chairs cost £466.80 each. Cattlan refuse help

We bought 6 leather chairs for our kitchen and had the legs wrapped in leather they are only a couple of months old and the legs have tears and scratches the leather is not good enough quality to withstand normal life. The company refuses to help. Very disappointed in these chairs. We would not have paid extra if we had been told that the leather was delicate.

Cattelan Italia - Excuses, Non Trustworthy, Very Poor Quality Service

This review is about receiving a Cattelan Italia that was 10 weeks late and received damaged.
Trading Standards, European Consumer Council in both UK and Italy are involved.

I ordered a Cattelan Italia dining table at the start of August 2021. Table arrived just under 3 months late and was damaged. Cattelan Italia are refusing to send me a new table or give me a refund. I paid several thousand pounds via bank transfer. Cattelan Italia have done nothing to resolve this issue for me which I find ridiculous for a premium brand company.

Trading Standards, Consumer Council, and a Solicitor both here in the UK and in Italy are involved in this issue. All legal advice I have received from Trading Standards, Consumer Council, and a Solicitor state the same - Cattelan Italia are at fault and need to give me a refund or send me a new table which they are refusing to do so. Below is a summary:

The table I ordered was to be delivered in mid October. After chasing for a delivery date on the 11th of October, the next day I received an excuse on October 12th that there was a flaw in the table and that the table would need to be remade. This story changed in January 2022 to 'their was a shortage of raw materials'.

Update 23rd December 2021. Table arrived damaged, large crack down the middle of table. I'm not surprised as packaging was poor standard and after waiting just under 6 months to get a damaged table is not a big surprise. Simply shocking to wait 6 months and get damaged table.

Update 12th January 2022.
I received an email today from the shop I purchased the Cattelan Italia Table - took 3 weeks for a response. They are claiming I did not report the damage to no-one which is false as I reported the damage to the driver at time of delivery and I also reported the damage to the courier company as soon as I opened the badly constructed pallet and also sent WhatsApp and emails to the shop as soon as I opened the pallet. I have pictures, emails and WhatsApp messages to prove my case.
Unfortunately, I have received a damaged table and the shop is refusing to do the right thing and sort this mess out. Waiting 6 months and paying thousands only to receive a damaged table is ridiculous.
I contacted Trading Standards UK and the UK International Consumer Centre to get professional and legal advice today. I was informed of my UK and EU rights and puts me in a strong position in my dispute with this company. Courier also advised shop that when they collected pallet from port it was damaged. Pictures was taken of the damaged and logged on courier software system. Shop was notified of damaged but they advised courier to deliver damage pallet to be anyway.

Update 18th January 2022.
I contacted Trading Standards UK, UK International Consumer Centre and a Solicitor to get professional and legal advice today. A letter was posted yesterday to the shop advising them of my legal rights which means the goods need to be delivered to me on time, free from defects and durable. The table I received was 10 weeks late and damaged. The shop has 14 days to respond.

Update 28th February 2022.
No contact from the shop. Cattelan Italia have done nothing to resolve this issue over the last 2 months, they want me to pay again for a damaged table and are stating it is my fault I received the damaged goods. They have also requested that I take down this review which I will not do as it is an honest review. They are a terrible company. Trading Standards and Consumer Council both here and in Italy are now involved in this dispute. The law states that I am entitled to receive the goods on time and free from defects.

Update 3rd March 2022.
I have been advised to send this Cattelan Italia a letter formally requesting why my table was delayed for 10 weeks and when did they receive the order for my table. Cattelan Italia have refused to answer these two basic questions so I have been advised to put the request in writing to them. I am currently talking to Trading Standards about their business practices. I will post an update if and when I receive a reply from Cattelan Italia. This review getting hundreds of reads so I'm very pleased the review is getting read.

Update 12 April 2022.
Cattelan Italia sent me a new table top. Table top arrived damaged when opened by courier, refused delivery of table top due to damage. I sent Cattelan Italia pictures of damaged table top within 5 minutes of courier leaving with the damaged table top.

Update 26 April 2022.
I have contacted Cattelan Italia several times but no response over last two weeks. Ridiculous service form a company who don't care. Why they are not replying to me is bizarre.

Do not buy from them

I have placed an order on March for coffee table and magnum mirror.Still waiting to be delivered to England..they will deliver them on July.I am not very happy at all.

Don't trust the website of Cattalan…

Don't trust the website of Cattalan Italia and the dealers of this product in Montreal, Canada..
They do not honor the product that you purchased. It is incorrectly represented on the website and in the store model . The final product was no where near what we saw on the floor in the Montreal store and or on the Cattalan website. The colour was wrong and we are told it is because of the lighting.. Touch luck for us for buying this expensive dining table..

Don't trust their website photos

Don't trust their website photos, they aren't real.
I ordered a dining table with 8 chairs. Before placing the order I asked the company (I bought the items directly from them) to confirm all the details (including the color too), but I got 8 chairs in a completely different color.
When I asked them about it they said: "I am sorry that you don't like it, but you ordered this." This was their last answer and they didn't care more about the problem.
The customer is important only until the payment is done.
Design on the website: 5 star
Design in the reality: 3 star
Customer service: 1 star
Whole shopping experience: 1 star (and never again)
