Rude staff and useless customer service support

Rude staff - Westfield France and useless customer service support.

If we can rate a zero star we would do so. We visited about 5 days ago, and bought items at 1500pm. However, the sales person at the till did not tell us that we needed to claim tax exemption in the upper level of the shop. We finished our shopping and headed to the main reception area inside Westfield mall to make claims for all the stores we visited at about 7:15pm, only to find out that C & A did theirs but did not mention this to us.

We went back to the store to the same sales person and she asked us to go upstairs. We stood on the queue and were seen by this very rude sale person who told us to get out of her way because she wanted to speak with someone else. On discussing with another salesperson (the 3rd person) at the till, we were informed that the tax claim closed at 7:30pm. One of the other salespersons present was giggling (quite clearly at our expense) while we were upset and trying to explain to the salesperson that we shopped in their shop at 1500pm and that it was the same Staff we approached at about 1920pm who who could have communicated about the tax claim process as she was very aware we were not local.

However, the salesperson we were discussing with kept repeating that they were closed. There was no iota or hint of an apology for the shameful customer service we had already received. We then asked for customer service details and they said that was also conveniently closed. We then insisted that we be given contact details for customer service before we finally and begrudgingly were given one.
We found two of the staff quite rude and lacking any form of empathy whatsoever, considering the experience we had. We have still not received any apologies nor our tax refund. It was such a distressing experience that I do not think we would ever consider returning for shopping here. Nor would we be recommending C & A to anyone visiting Lyon.

So I contacted them the following morning due to their reply comments on Google. Complete waste of time, their comments is nothing but a show. They take no responsibility for the bad treatment we received. They asked me to go to their branch because they said the law provides an additional 24hours. Despite explaining that I was returning to my country this morning. They open at 0930am, and there would have been no way I could make it to them before my departure time and yet they did not care. They expected me to go to them and miss my train connection. No solutions were considered or offered for the poor way we were treated.

Following their comments during the phone call and because of the lack of support I requested to speak with a manager and I was told they had no manager. I then reiterated that I needed to communicate to a manager and I was grudgingly told to write to them “if I want”.

No wonder their staff was so rude in the store yesterday. They do not have a customer service. Please beware!! If they had any decency they would have addressed the situation by providing a remedy for their rude and misinformed staff. We spent over 250 or so, absolutely no way we are going back here. They have no customer service whatsoever, and very rude sales persons, so beware if you are thinking of shopping with them.

Charging returns


My experience with the C&A online shop was unfortunately very disappointing.
I returned one item out of a three-item order. The confirmation of the return took a very long time, and afterwards I was informed that the item still had to go through an identification process. This has now been ongoing for almost a month.

Although the website clearly states that returned items do not need to be paid for and only the remaining items should be charged, I continued to receive late payment and penalty fees for the item I had already returned. Despite contacting customer service several times, it seems that internal communication between departments is extremely poor — and in the end, the customer is the one who suffers the consequences.

Meine Erfahrung mit dem Online-Shop von C&A war leider sehr negativ.
Ich habe einen Artikel aus einer Bestellung mit drei Artikeln zurückgeschickt. Die Bestätigung der Rücksendung hat sehr lange gedauert, und anschließend wurde mir mitgeteilt, dass zusätzlich eine Identifizierung des Artikels erforderlich sei. Dieser Vorgang zieht sich mittlerweile seit fast einem Monat hin.

Laut Website sollte ein zurückgesendeter Artikel nicht berechnet werden, dennoch wurden mir weiterhin Verzugs- und Mahngebühren für diesen Artikel in Rechnung gestellt. Trotz mehrfacher Kontaktaufnahme mit dem Kundenservice scheint die Kommunikation zwischen den Abteilungen nicht zu funktionieren – die Konsequenzen trägt letztlich der Kunde.

“A negative review because of bad service



“A negative review because when preparing the goods they do not provide the necessary information for the delivery of the package, so you end up having to communicate with the courier yourself. The package was never received for this very reason. They are uninterested and careless.”

J'ai passé commande sur le site de C&A…

J'ai passé commande sur le site de C&A cette année. Ma dernière commande a été expédiée du Canada sans étiquette de retour. Je vis en France. J'ai écrit à l'entreprise à deux reprises concernant ce problème de retour. Aucune réponse. Attention aux achats sur le site de C&A : vérifiez d'où proviennent les produits et assurez-vous que l'étiquette de retour, prépayée, est bien incluse dans le colis. Je me sens arnaquée. À partir de ce mois-ci, je n'achèterai plus jamais chez eux.

Service client déplorable. Au même prix, Zara et Mango offrent un meilleur service et un style bien plus soigné !

I have purchased from C&A online this year. This last purchase was sent from Canada with no return etiquette. I live in France. I have written the company twice about the return problem. NO response. Beware of Buying Now on C&A online: where the products are being shipped from, and whether the return etiquette, free-of-charge postal, is included in the package. I feel scammed by this company. As of this month, I WILL NEVER BUY FROM THEM AGAIN.

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. BETTER OFF IN SERVICE AND STYLE WITH ZARA ET MANGO FOR THE PRICE POINT !!

I am very disappointed with my…

I am very disappointed with my experience at the C&A store in Woluwe‑Saint‑Lambert on 11 October 2025. I visited wearing a sweater I had legally purchased there the day before. When I entered and later exited, the security gate beeped — and no staff reacted. This was already confusing and stressful, as it had happened the day before as well.

Later, a staff member approached me, lifted my sweater, and checked the security tag while holding my personal handbag. I was completely honest and cooperative, but I felt treated like a thief, which was humiliating and deeply upsetting.

When they asked me for proof of purchase, I want to stress that I am not obliged to carry or keep the receipt after paying for something. The store should respond appropriately when the gate beeps, not whenever it suits them.

This has never happened to me before, and it was extremely stressful and embarrassing. I even returned to ask if they would apologize, and was told that I should apologize instead for not informing them when the gate beeped. No sincere apology was ever offered.

I hope C&A seriously reviews their procedures and trains staff to treat customers with respect, fairness, and professionalism in situations like this. Nobody should ever feel accused or humiliated for simply shopping.

People working there don't know how to do it so endup keeping things which you even can't wear them. When you try something in store you try it things and take hours to keep things back at their place...there employees will not take them back. I don't understand what these guys do actually in the store....

horrid service

not being able to have a seamless online shopping experience in 2025 is ridiculous! I love shopping online but with C&A is impossible: half the time they send the wrong orders, the return process is unbelievably difficult and time wasting and the refund comes months later only after you chase them. Shame on them!

PLEASE AVOID

I placed an order, they sent me trousers of a wrong size, apparently it’s not my fault. I was sending messages to customer support again and again. I paid shipping fee, because there were no solution offered from them except for “free shipping voucher” for the next purchase which was invalid lol and the fee is lower than I had to pay. As for refund, I strongly believe that after all these reviews being read, I won’t receive a cent. They scammed me for 44.19 euro. Please please avoid at all cost.

To be fully transparent I want to admit, that after approximately 15 emails (without response from them lol), I managed to get two transfers from them 35.99 eur in total. But they never refunded the shipping fee for the wrong item they sent me lol clowns. The worst experience. Honestly the worst.

So long delivery

I placed an order with in-store delivery. After 1 week no news, only to be told that the parcel had been delivered to the wrong store (in a country other than my own).
I called to find out where my parcel was, and was told that they couldn't find out because DHL was in charge of in-store delivery.
What's more, I ask to cancel my order and be reimbursed, but since the order is being delivered this is not possible...
More than 2 weeks after placing my order, I still haven't received my parcel and don't know when I will...

Went from bad to worse since the end of 2023. Poor quality items, absurdly unprofessional customer service - like typing with a bad friend who ignores everything you've said and gives short, useless, generic responses.

Horrible app, absolutely shameful

Choose a shop that respects its customers!!!

It's so shameful for such a big company that's running for so many years to have such a poor app. It crashes, won't load, logs you out all the time, products you save won't remain saved or won't be saved at all, it has errors all the time and I'm having a lot of trouble trying to order and pay. I tried multiple times to pay with different cards and keeps showing errors. I have this app for more than two years, on different phones and using different Wi-Fi, every time it was just as horrible and not helpful at all without any improvement even so l kept waiting for it, and you can't blame the customer's devices. I'm your client for many years but this lack of respect you have towards your costumers by not putting any effort to make the app and website properly functional, makes me give up on buying from here.

And don’t say anymore that “you are constantly improving the app”, because this not true, just look at how bad everything works. It’s embarrassing.

I am too sad to put a one star review because usually I really live the C&A cotton and quality but lately I bought jeans said to be made in Europe, 3 times worn and completely gone broken from more than one side, it’s too sad really.

SARAH in fuengirola C&A april 2025…

Visited C&A in fuengirola april 2025 when on holidays with my sister and have to say their assistant Sarah was so helpful and courteous to us She was very busy but took time to understand what I was looking for and ordered it from warehouse / another store in my size .
We went back 4 times and each time Sarah attended us with her bright smile .... it makes a difference !!! We spent a lot !
A lot of shop assistants can be quite indifferent and unhelpful to tourists but not Sarah

We were in and out of C& A and lot during our 4 week holiday in Fuengirola.

Never more C&A

I made an order in December which I never received. I opened a claim via PayPal, I sent screenshot and proof that the order was never shipped, I won the claim and I got a refund. Today C&A intimidated me with an unpleasant email saying the order was shipped and never paid. I don't want any trouble especially because it's a small amount, so I make again a bank transfer as they requested. This money I lost won't change my life but I'm very disappointed and I won't make anymore a order on this website.

Avoid This Shop at All Costs

Avoid This Shop at All Costs – A Disastrous Experience for Tourists

If you're a tourist visiting Rennes, I highly advise you to avoid the C&A store in the Centre Commercial 3 Soleils. My experience today was nothing short of disappointing and unwelcoming, leaving me and my relatives feeling disrespected.

I visited this shop at noon with family members who are tourists. They planned to make significant purchases (as they often do in other C&A branches) and requested a détaxe refund. Unfortunately, the employees at the ground-floor checkout were shockingly rude and unprofessional. One of the cashiers, visibly annoyed, told her colleague in French (not knowing that I understood French unlike my English-speaking relatives): "I don’t want to do this procedure, last time it bugged." To which her colleague replied, "Then don’t do it."

When we asked politely to speak to a manager, the response was absurdly dismissive: "He might come in a day, a week, or a month. We don’t know." When I asked for the shop’s contact information to follow up, the cashier rudely told me to "Google it."

This experience was an absolute disgrace, especially compared to the warm and professional service my relatives have received at other C&A locations. To make matters worse, this branch is in a shopping center frequented by international visitors. Such unprofessional behavior tarnishes the brand's reputation and sends a very negative message to tourists.

I have already written two emails today to alert C&A's customer service and headquarters about this incident. I sincerely hope they take this matter seriously and implement immediate improvements.

For now, if you're a tourist, save yourself the frustration and choose another store that actually values its customers.
