Our first time staying here. We had room no1, a room that would make an ideal wedding suite. On this occasion it was my birthday and they had put balloons, a banner and little cakes on the bed(chargeable extra). We found all the staff to be really friendly and went out of their way to help me order gf food in the restaurant.
We can recommend the sea bass and the short rib for dinner. My breakfast kedgeree would have made an ideal dinner sized portion. Cocktails were well thought out, one even had a mini tart with it. The copper bath was indeed big enough for two! There was very little surrounding noise and we slept really well. Would not hesitate to stay again.

Arrogant waitress. Walked in off the street on a a Tuesday afternoon without a booking. The arrogance of the response when we said we did not have a table booked was unnecessary. Was not ‘prepared’ to offer any idea of wait time and expected to wait until they were ready. As we walked out we heard laughter. Such a rude, pompous place will not go back

The service was outstanding, and the quality of the food and drinks was top notch as usual.

I would advice booking from their webpage, as the queues will incur a long wait.

My mother and I both had the Byfords Breakfast, and a coffee (included in the price), at £16.50, was very well cooked and not padded out with e.g. chips. It was an excellent meal and experience as always, and I will definitely be going back. You can get a cheaper version of fry-ups in the area, but this is something special. Thank you Byfords and see you soon!
