So expensive for poor food quality.
Loads of fried foods. Fake chicken breast ( processed chicken) but advertised as chicken breast.
Crispy prawns for nearly £7 for 4 little prawns. Never go again

This was Brewers Fayre in Newhaven - Carpark was busy might be due to the Premier inn next door - as the restaurant was very quiet. Advised that we could sit at any table on in the first area.

Looked at the menus - these were sticky with previous food / drink which wasn't good. - We cleaned the table with the baby wipes we had as this was filthy too.

We have a 4 year old daughter so chose the children menu for her which was for starter (vegetable sticks) and the main was beefburger (which we ordered extra cheese for) & chips and 2 sides - peas and baked beans.

Restaurant was nearly empty now (Saturday just after 6pm)

The other mains we chose were missed grill and katsu chicken curry. Not sure why they don't have an app to order and pay - so you have to remember all the choices and go to the bar to pay (and collect your drinks and then carry them back) - Children's drink was out of stock so had apple juice!!

They advised that there might be a wait for food (this was Saturday at 6pm !!? in an empty restaurant).

40 minutes later we chased the food as nothing was received - not even the "starter" for our daughter - I could chop up some carrots / peppers and cucumber in 5 minutes but it took the "chef" nearly 1 hour.

The waitresses (3 of them I think were just mulling around - no food was being served !!). We asked one of them for progress as it had been 40 minutes? - she said she would check and then never appeared again to advise - We chased again and eventually the food arrived the starter and the main for our daughter??!!

and the mains for the 2 adults.

I asked why the starter was delivered at the same time as the main and she said "it comes all together"

Why are you calling it a starter if it comes the same time as the main - not sure what my daughter is going to do with vegetable sticks when she also has a burger and chips going cold at the same time !!!

The peas (side dish) were served straight on the plate and not drained so the burger base was all soggy.

Absolute joke - we left & will never be back here

This the worst pizza it made me throw up and it's so dry it's like a stick and papper combine if you are going to try this please don't

Why does the Swindon branch of brewers fayre have problems with getting points credited to customers accounts? I always have to contact whitbread H Q to get the points sorted out.

Staff were in a rush to go home and were not attentive. Steaks were so chewy and chips hard and dry. Literally never eaten somewhere so rubbish in my life.

Four of us had meals (lunch time) steaks were cooked as requested and very nice. The fish was good and the mixed grill was excellent. Staff are friendly.
Looking forward to our next visit.

Horrible service, distasteful food, absolutely apuled with the cleanliness of the tables and glasses sticky to touch and left over residue from old food and dishwasher water. DO NOT RECOMMEND!!! Save yourself from food poisoning!!!!

We were very pleased with the service ,prices and the food was good. Cannot understand the low rating as we have been there quite often with no complaint.

Food served burnt. Never have I seen pakora ad barjis served black. Sent back and 3 new onion barjis and pakora came back burnt again. This time I went to the bar and the supervisor there agreed and offered me a dessert or refund. Being hungry I opted for a bowl of chips. Came dry requested ketchup which I couldn't eat. (Cheap brand) Not only our food was bad every table made a complaint around us. Mash tasted like smash cold and lumpy went back to kitchen re heated. Taken back again and had a bowl of chips. Another table steak went back. When it arrived the rest of the plate had been eaten so the steak was left. Behind us a lady took hers back as when she cut in the jacket potato it was black inside. We were table 30 and the 3 tables around me all took food back. Suggest you change your chef!! Caerphilly.

Went to brewers fayre wasall and what an actual dump. There were cheap throws on the seats what I can imagine to cover the crap underneath these were extremely unclean with god knows what all over them. There was stuff all over the floors. People eating Tesco meal deals. Poo all over the toilet false nails all over the floor. If it wasn't for the fact I had already paid and my little boy was starving I would have walked out

We visit Brewers restaurant in Glastonbury and have been doing so for last 2+ years. Even had the last 2years Christmas lunch there which was good.
Got to know the staff there to name a few, Michelle, Zoe, Wallace, Daisy and Lee who are all very friendly and helpful.
We’ve had some lovely meals and good value, but as of late it’s hit and miss . The smothered chicken which we always have was served luke warm and bacon hardly cooked , bone in chicken the cheese was mush over it and garlic bread only cooked one side our complaint was put right. Another time waited ages was served cooked lettuce etc this was put right to. I think they have a new chef who’s not up to scratch also less staff and the staff they have are run off their feet.
The cleanliness has gone down hill example hall way porch floor needs a good clean, food on the carpet , disabled toilets dirty and sink all brown etc etc.
Please don’t ever close as we love going there it’s a 24 mile trip for us which is worth it. Keep up the good work.

We dined at Bobbing apple sittingbourne on Saturday 7th June 2 pm there was nine of us
We had an excellent meal. The food was perfect. The staff Kelly Claire Julia Kayleigh and Jimmy.were very very helpful even though they had three staff called in sick that day
10 out of 10 excellent food excellent service

I went with my wife and sister in law to the mulberry tree near braintree and we all had lunch there which was really nice we each had a chicken caesar salad flatbread for a fiver and it was superb xx

Popped into Brewers Fayre at Cheswold Lodge Doncaster with the family and sadly, it was a let-down all round.

Food was poor – tasted like it had been sitting around a while, nothing fresh about it. Staff seemed disinterested and slow, like we were an inconvenience rather than paying customers.

They charge £4.50 for the kids’ play area, which would be fine if it was clean and looked after. But it was filthy — rubbish everywhere and no sign of anyone keeping it in check. Not somewhere you’d feel comfortable letting your kids play.

Overall, felt like no one really cared. Definitely won’t be rushing back. Shame really, as the location has potential.

Can't fault the welcome, the food, and the attentive and helpful staff. We were a party of 12, but the food was brought to our table perfectly cooked, and - hot. All of us, from as far away as Florida, were truly impressed. Many thanks Brewers Fayre for making a rare 'get-together' so memorable.

We visited the Brewers Fayre at Craig House Inveresk on 23rd May 2025. We had excellent service and were attended to by Murray who was very helpful, courteous and polite, in fact all the staff are excellent. The meals are extremely good value for money with a decent choice and always served piping hot. I would give 5 stars, however, the place does need a bit of refresh as it is a bit run down in some areas although this didn't spoil our enjoyment. We will most definately be returning more often.

Investment is definitely required in a refurbishment
This restaurant is in a prime location and could offer customers a relaxing stay however instead the children spent the whole time complaining
The toilets smelt before you even got through the door so they would not use them, everywhere needed a paint, the carpet looked like you would stick to it !!
The staff were friendly, food was as expected the coke was flat
We would not visit again sorry even though the location is amazing and staff friendly !!

Paper Mill (High Wycombe)

Used this restaurant as was staying in the Premier Inn next door.

Very dirty (floor, walls, napkins, glasses), extremely budget meals and ingredients (had better in the supermarket cafe), staff who constantly moaned about how busy it was (but wasn't), meals served incorrect, the most miserable looking salad I've ever seen, staff more miserable than the salad, chef who was coming out of kitchen to look at football score on the TV, etc.

Would have eaten elsewhere after first night, but had paid for meal deals as part of hotel stay.

Have stayed in the Premier Inn and used the Papermill many times in the last 18 years whilst visiting family and very shocked how downhill things have gone since last stay.

Not expecting top notch food like in Marlow, but when budgets have been cut to the bone and the food/ingredients are obviously VERY poor, then it's very disappointing. Was emailed direct by Brewers Fayre after the last meal asking for a 'review'. Left feedback, but of course no response. So what's the point of asking for feedback?

Booked a table for 4:45 on a Sunday for a carvey (glenrothes location) that ends at 6 told it had ended because they had 20 people to serve and had little meat left very disappointed.

The chicken goujons and the prawns that I had today were quite hard, the coating tasted as if it had been refried and was difficult to eat. Will think twice before ordering that dish.
