The parcel was insured for €500, and the shipping costs were paid in full.

bpost lost the parcel but refuses to honor the insurance policy. The company demands purchase receipts for personal second-hand belongings and gifts. They ignore my bank statements, my signed sworn declaration, and the market value of the lost items.

In the end, bpost paid only €238, even though the contents of the parcel were worth approximately €1,000. In addition, we lost the shipping costs, we now have to purchase the lost items again (which will cost around €1,000 or even more), and we have suffered significant emotional distress.

I believe that bpost's conduct is misleading towards consumers. The company charges customers for insurance, but when an insured event actually occurs, it refuses to pay based on unreasonable formal requirements and uses bureaucratic rules against ordinary citizens.

To my great disappointment, the Belgian Postal Ombudsman sided with bpost and concluded that its actions were lawful. In my opinion, bpost is violating consumers' rights in an unacceptable manner and does so with apparent impunity.

The postman didn't wait for a reply and threw the package over the fence. Don't use bpost, you're losing customers.

Why do you ask me opinion only when the delivery was fine? Yesterday it was fine but today the postman had two registered letter for my husband and me but he did ñot even call any if us. We are at home all day!
