Got a welding bottle Jan 2022. account cost £233.07 returned it when empty and didn't take a refill as my project was finished.
Then at the end of last year I noticed that BOC was still taking money off me, £149.34 Jan 23. £150.96 Jan 24. £160.80 Jan 25. so I cancelled my direct debit. now they are hounding me for £207.52 late payment, late payment for what? Can't reply to the emails, no contact number on the invoice or website, and nobody has phoned me to explain the issue. Try to login to see if I have an account but no account can be found!!

poor service from BOC. Times are hard for small businesses, when we get charged for gas bottles for a full month when we only have them for 2 weeks doesnt help. Understand their billing is done monthly, but to be charged cylinder rental for days we dont have them is wrong. Would you be expected to pay for a months car rental if you only had the car for two weeks? BOC have lost our business.

This was not a late delivery - COMPLETE FAILURE
This was not a late delivery. This was a complete operational breakdown.
We ordered critical welding gas online for our robotic welding cells. Without shielding gas, production cannot run. This was a confirmed delivery and our entire manufacturing schedule was structured around it.
The delivery never arrived.
No phone call.
No warning.
No update.
We had six members of staff on site ready to run production — and they stood idle all day because the gas did not arrive.
At 4pm, after losing an entire production day, we contacted BOC ourselves. Only then were we told the driver had loaded the wrong gas.
So BOC knew the wrong product was on the vehicle — yet no one thought it necessary to inform a customer whose operation depends on that supply.
This resulted in:
• Six staff paid for a non-productive day
• Robotic welding cells offline
• Missed output
• Disruption to customer delivery schedules
• Direct and measurable financial loss
Mistakes happen. Failing to communicate them does not.
For a company supplying critical industrial gases to manufacturers, this level of operational negligence and indifference is staggering.
We now expect a formal explanation, acknowledgment of the financial impact, and meaningful compensation for the loss caused.
Manufacturing runs on reliability. On this occasion, BOC failed completely.
Unacceptable.

This review is only for the accounts dept in Woking.
I have an issue with an BOC outlet in Rochester, who wrongly claimed that the issue had to be taken up with "customer services", a journey which in all honesty could be made much more user friendly, however I went for the option for accounts, to which I was answered by Zac, although not the customer services, he helped solve a major part of my issue through listening, manners and a highly professional attitude at all times, going above and beyond where most would have given up and moved me on as quick as possible.
I believe outstanding behaviour deserves being noted.
Thank you Zac for helping my day go so much easier.

Hobbyist failed to make an order!
Tried to make an order for argon for my small diy mig welder. Website is an absolute shambles. Tried to charge me £170 odd for a small bottle. Get a grip for gods sake. Will stick with my pub CO2 bottle if this is the best you can do. Get you IT department to deal with this if you want to be taken seriously. Lots of small time hobbyists who need argon but your website is rubbish. No one can work it out.!!

Avoid at all costs, charge £10.74 just for sending an invoice unless you request to have invoices sent online. Customer service is beyond a joke. A disgusting experience working with this company who has no interest in offering any form of customer service. DO NOT USE

Awful customer service
Awful customer service, I contacted BOC to ask why they had been taking an annual DD from our business account for a service they no longer provide. They argued that the serial number on a gas bottle we rented had not been returned 8 years prior so they had continued to deduct the rental for this, only after threatening to go public did they agree to cancel the contract but no credit would be issued for all payments they had taken, Disgusting attitude from the live chat team. Avoid at all costs.

The British Oxygen Company has left the company I work for high and dry with deliveries of Oxygen. I'm not surprised that the cogs of industry turn extremely slowly within the UK when reliant on gases.
The new website customer service portal is unhelpful showing orders as delivered and nothing appears. The call handlers, mostly working from home doing the best they can, seem to have limited information as to delivery dates.
Periods of excellent delivery are spoilt by long drawn out periods of poor shipments with limited cylinders.

Web site wouldn't take my order. Chat box thingy consumed hours of time. No conclusion.
Without me knowing or having order confirmation BOC converted a screen shot of my basket into an order.
When I found out, by looking at my online account, the web site order stated the order was delivered. Confused by the whole experience and needing certainties on delivery, It then took a 50 minute phone call, being passed about, to find out that the order was being processed and delivery could be expected. This is one bad experience lately.
If only there was an alternative to BOC
