A visit to Barton Grange
Such a lovely visit to Barton Grange, we had lunch when we arrived which was delicious. Followed by two hours in the garden centre and all of the other departments. Barton Grange is so much more than a garden centre it’s a day out. I love blue diamond garden centres there are always 100% well worth visiting.

We were served at the checkout by a lovely, friendly lady called Gwyneth on the 30th September. We had a lovely meal there and although it was quite busy, we were served quite promptly. The staff in the caffateria were very friendly.
We would recommend the burgurs and sausages on the butchers counter, delicious. We had a nice day out.

No garden centre products available on 1st October due to Christmas displays - Bad Management
I wanted to buy a rose for a watering can. I was told on the 1st October that all SUMMER garden equipment had been packed up to make way for the Christmas display and was inaccessible.
A Manager was nearby and slipped away very quickly.
I went to the counter and asked to see a Manager - I was told he was too busy to see me. After insisting - I waited 10 minutes and a Manager came to see me coughing and spluttering. He defended himself first for not supporting his checkout staff when there was a queue of 6 people, and then told me he could access what I wanted to buy and it would take him 5 minutes. He disappeared and came back 20 minutes later saying he couldn't find anything. I left after around 50 minutes empty handed.
This was at the New-Haw Crockford Park Site and the Manager was Peter Walford

having visitied worid end garden centre…
having visitied worid end garden centre aylesbury i was very disaponted by the fact that when arrive at the garden centre that right by the car park is a the bags of potting compose witch i had come in to purchase then you have to push the trolley with the product in it which didnt work that well all round the garden centre on uneven ground in places to find a till and pay then back outside to the car park .there must be a better way then this not all your customers are a 100% fit and heathey wound be better if you had a take a voucher syetem to the till and pay for the product the collect it and then put it in the car this to me is a poor dessign and needs looking at asap i can think of your competitors that sell the same products that have the same problem with having it so fare from the tills

I am sorry that you found the process of purchasing and collecting your compost inconvenient. I have spoken with the Garden Centre Manager, who has confirmed that the current process is for customers to pay for their compost at the tills and then collect it from the clearly marked collection point directly outside the Garden Centre.
Signage is currently displayed to explain the collection process, but we will review this to ensure it is as clear and visible as possible, so that all customers are aware of the arrangements.
Thank you again for bringing this to our attention. Your feedback is particularly helpful in highlighting the importance of ensuring the process is accessible and straightforward for all our customers.

Few hours out looking around
Always a nice garden centre. Coffee shop was lovely. Some of the best cake I’ve eaten out at garden centre. A lovely choice to. Well done to the pastry chef. They also have a lovely pet shop as you walk in and quiet an array of stock.(pets corner)

Ideal meeting place
We planned a meet up at what was loosely a half way point from our home in Cheshire and a Scottish friend not seen for a couple of years. Barton Grange was just the perfect place to meet up. The restaurant still looks smart and all the staff were very welcoming and the lunch was just perfect. Would we go back? Yes we certainly would, and hope to do so as soon as we can.

Newbridge garden centre is a great…
Newbridge garden centre is a great place to go for breakfast, lunch or just afternoon cakes and coffee. I can spend a whole day there in the diffuser section, fashion, gifts, food and outside with all the plants.
There’s something for everyone at Newbridge and well worth a visit.

Know Your Consumer Rights When Returning Faulty Goods.
I recently returned a faulty item to East Bridgford I had originally purchased using a National Garden Gift Voucher.
The cashier told me that she couldn’t refund the value to a National Garden Gift Voucher, but offered to put the refund onto a Blue Diamond voucher instead.
That would have meant being tied to spending the money at their stores.
I pointed out my consumer rights under the Consumer Rights Act, and the refund was then correctly made to my debit card.
It’s worth knowing your rights before you get to the till or returns desk. Otherwise, you may be offered a store voucher when you may be entitled to a different form of refund.
Know your rights and don’t be afraid to ask for the remedy you’re legally entitled to.
