Don’t do it

Don’t do it. My car was carried away by a flood in Jan this year and was completely ruined, obviously a complete write off. I made my claim the very day it happened. Weeks passed and I heard nothing and was so hard to find a number to call as Bingle is online only. Once I called them they reassured me, next week you will hear! After not hearing (surprise, surprise) I called and asked about towing and she said call another number. Of course that number didn’t deal with towing so they told me to call back and she said oh yes let me organise that for me. So if I hadn’t called about towing nothing would have happened. These people are polite, but couldn’t tell me a thing about my claim. It was finally towed after pestering them and then it pretty much sat there for 2 WHOLE MONTHS. Each time I called it was someone from overseas who was impossible to understand and had no clue what was going on. Each time they said ‘ so sorry no time frame, and no assessor’s available,’ even though a member said you will hear next week ( they said this every week and I never heard.) The only progress I made was calling another platform which was the assessor’s group and they were great ( although weren’t directly bingle workers.) They said somehow my claim got missed and was just sitting there. I called bingle again and said what is happening and they said so sorry no time frame and no assessor available. Another few weeks passed and finally the assessor team said it’s been assessed and I should be receiving a call soon. At last the settlement was very quick which was one positive and gave me an above average price for the car which I was pleased with. I’m relieved I was finally paid out but who knows what would’ve happened if I didn’t pester them constantly.

DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY

I submitted a claim with Bingle insurance on the 29th of December 2025, and they were very quick to ask me to pay the excess of $995, the same day.

Since then, I have not heard from Bingle Insurance to get any update on the progress of my insurance claim. Calling up their call centre gets you the same responce of "wait by the phone and we will call you"

I'm writing this review on the 28th of February, 2 months later, and still no correspondence from Bingle, and no resolution to my claim. I have been without a car for 2 months, while my car sits in their assessment centre gathering dust.

Even after complaints both directly to Bingle, and to AFCA, there is still no progress.

This is by FAR THE WORST insurance company i have every dealt with. If you are thinking about insuring your vehicle with them... DON'T!!!

You will regret it as much as I have

So far terrible

So far terrible! Price is irrelevant to be honest Bingle, Aami....its all Suncorp run. What they have done is outsourced all call centre and handling to overseas agents who have no idea how to handle cases.

Currently a not at fault driver who is dealing with Bingle (my insurer) and Aami (the driver's insurer) has been like tumbleweeds for me. I have done so much leg work when I am the victim in all this.

At this point in time I am ready to make the repairs myself and have the at fault party simply pay me direct and cancel the whole claim, honestly given the minor damage it would be cost him the same and not affect his rating.

Next year will be avoiding all Suncorp related insurers, this has been less than satisfcatory to say the least!

Severely Mishandled Claim and Damage Caused by Bingle

My experience with Bingle was extremely disappointing. My car was involved in an accident where I was not at fault, yet when I lodged a claim, Bingle attempted to severely lowball me on the value of my well-maintained car. On top of the already low offer, they said they would deduct $1,690, which made no sense given the damage was relatively minor (mainly the bumper and boot).

Because of this, I withdrew my claim. When my car was returned to me, it was in much worse condition than when I handed it over. There was writing on the windscreen with a permanent marker, my number plates were removed, and the screws were missing. I now have to spend around $500 just to remove the marker from the windscreen.

I had to call Bingle every day for weeks just to receive my withdrawal letter. Customer service was rude, dismissive, and repeatedly tried to avoid my requests. When I raised the issue with the complaints department about the damage done to my car, I was told they “couldn’t do anything” and my concerns were ignored.

It felt like Bingle had no intention of repairing my car at all—they simply sent it to a salvage yard and offered an unreasonable amount. I am now considering legal action due to the damage caused to my vehicle and the fact that it was not returned in the same condition it was provided.

Overall, this was a very poor experience, and I would not recommend Bingle based on the way my claim was handled.

Poor claims handling, no accountability

I lodged my claim on 25/11 and the experience since has been unacceptable. My central locking failed immediately after the accident, despite working perfectly beforehand, yet Bingle refused the repair without providing clear written reasons or explaining the expertise behind their assessment.

Communication was terrible. I had no direct contact number for anyone handling my claim until I submitted a formal complaint. I was forced to chase repeatedly and spent over an hour on hold just to get basic answers. Responsibility was spread across multiple people with no ownership.

Assessment officer Robert Jones was rude and dismissive, did not seek to understand the situation, and repeatedly stated he had been in the business years and was not going to review his decision, regardless of the facts presented.

I was then told I must obtain and pay for my own independent assessment, plus cover vehicle transport and hire car costs, shifting all cost and inconvenience onto the customer.

Would NOT recommend.

Cheaper is not always better!

Very dissatisfied with Bingle Insurance. My car was “lost” for 17 days with no clear communication, repeated contradictions, and no timely assessment. Poor service — I’ll be cancelling my policies and escalating to the Ombudsman.

Awful experience with bingle post accident

not insured by bingle but got into an accident with someone who is and in a nutshell, they're a nightmare to deal with. It took them three weeks to even put in a request for the police report and it only happened in the end because I had to keep calling to follow up. They take their time doing everything in a mixture of incompetence and what feels like a deliberate attempt at delaying the inevitable pay out. Unreliable and incompetent, overall very poor experience.

My car was insured with Bingle car…

My car was insured with Bingle car insurance . Upon making my car accident claim , Bingle car insurer went out of their way Not to pay out my simple car accident claim . Master was complaint to ombudsman , ombudsman too took insurance side giving biased determination that hindered my claim . I believe ombudsman are paid by FSP like insurance and banks .

Pathetic

Pathetic. I applied for car insurance starting 26 June 2025 yet when I paid and all was finished it states the policy starts 11:59pm 26 June 2025. Might as well be 27 June 2025 so I pick up my new car without insurance. Total ripoff.

Waiting over 4 weeks and still no…

Waiting over 4 weeks and still no outcome or payout.

Accident happened 14 December and still waiting for Bingle accessor to declare the car a write off even though there nominated repairer AMA repairers declared it a write off.

Phoned them twice and get different stories. People hang up on you or transfer you to someone else to start the process update all over again. No accountability and no time frames given.

The most incompetent website

Bingle is the most incompetent insurance company I have ever used. I am a 24 year old who is technologically savvy and I can never do simple tasks on Bingle.com without having an issue.
Examples are updating my personal details, payment methods or viewing my policy without having an error message pop up saying “OOPS! Theres been a Bingle!”

For this reason I have changed insurance providers and would rather pay $50 extra than use Bingles incompetent online system.

The fact that information is not easily found either is a huge problem. If told to contact Bingle, consumers should be able easily find a support email address instead of being directed to FAQ. Absolutely incompetent and I would never recommend anyone to use Bingle unless you are in financial hardship and have no other choice.

Save your money - it's not worth it

Everything was fine until I made a claim.

The online claim system is infant in its design with no avenues to seek or provide updates. Buried in my emails (and not advertised anywhere online) I found a number to call to request an update. After calling I was bounced around to different teams at an international call centre (with friendly but unhelpful staff). I was finally told no further action was required from me and that my claim would be paid.

After calling back a month later, I was told there was an error in their system and more checks were required and that I'd receive a call.

Beware when they call you back they only let it ring for 2 seconds before they hang up and then send you an email saying they attempted to call you but you were unavailable and that you need to call them ASAP (and wait in the long call queue) because they also don't bother calling more than once.

Also, their complaints webpage has a broken link and there is no information on their SLAs for timeframes of resolution for claims. Two months later and I'm still waiting to know if and when my claim will be paid. I have since found another insurance company and will not return. I will be following up with a formal complaint.
