Beer is great, but the cancellation process is terrible
I got an introductory offer for a box of beer, where I just paid shipping. Got it, didn't realise that subscribed you so got charged nearly £30 next month. Okay could've been a bit clearer but suppose it's my fault for not reading thourghly. Had the beers, they were lovely.
Went on my account to cancel. After jumping through about 3 screens of popups with 'offers' trying to get me to stay, I then got the end and found you had to ring to cancel? I have never had to do this for a simple subscription service before, and it really wound me up. So I ring, and I am on hold for 10 minutes just to cancel. The call drags on as the agent on the phone constantly gives me more 'offers' that are 'just for me', then tries to sell me one of their wine or coffee subscriptions? I said on the phone I was cancelling for financial reasons, why on earth would I then want to take up another subscription?
This review is not reflective of the product - I think the service is great and the beers are great, and the price is fair for the product that is sold. But I shouldn't have to go through these hoops if I don't want to continue anymore.

VERY hard to cancel.
Technically not scammers but very close. Very very difficult to cancel. I took an online deal,and boy did i regret it. Sent beer (which I had tried to cancel) to my old address) then wouldn't refund me. This was about 2 years ago but they still keep bombarding me with emails. That is why I thought I would warn people.

I spoke to Edward today and he was so nice , friendly, polite and really helpful as I was calling to cancel my account just due to how cost of living is just now. I didn't want to cancel as my husband loves the beers and the different selections you get. Edward could see I have been a loyal customer and I did ask if i could maybe reapply in a few months time. So he done me a deal on my account to pause it and also a nice added gift for when my next box is due. Beer52 is Great and I always recommend to people but just really nice how Edward managed to find a way to help me and I really appreciated it .

I called today to cancel my subscription and wanted to leave a review for Quentin. He was friendly, kind, and genuinely funny. We ended up chatting so much that I completely forgot the reason I’d called in the first place! It’s rare to speak to someone in customer service who makes you feel comfortable and have you laughing throughout the conversation.
The subscription wasn’t actually for me, it was for a family member. They thought the coffee was great, but they no longer needed the subscription, which is why I was calling to cancel. Quentin handled everything brilliantly. There was no pressure at all, just genuine kindness, excellent customer service, and a really enjoyable conversation.
If the subscription had still been needed, Quentin alone would have convinced us to stay as customers. Your company is very lucky to have him on the team. Thank you, Quentin, for making what I expected to be a quick cancellation call into such a lovely experience!
They don’t make cancellations easy
Was a good one time gift but when I tried to cancel my subscription you have to get through several pages of marketing and deals on the website only for the last page to say you have to call to cancel. I called and waited on hold for ten minutes to be greeted by a salesman trying to persuade me to stay with more deals and even trying to sell me coffee. I’ve never experienced a company make the cancellation process so difficult. I don’t even understand the business logic behind this as you’re just annoying potential return customers. I would have returned to this company in the future for buying gifts but never again after this experience.

DO NOT ORDER unless you want to be stuck in a subscription you cant easily cancel.
Extremely misleading website when it comes to trying to cancel, makes you think it is already cancelled whereas if you scroll down right to the bottom of the page it then says to call to cancel!!!! it would be soooo simple to just have the option to cancel online, it would save your customers the hassle (and unexpected payment from their banks) and your staff who I really do feel sorry for having to deal with complaints from customers constantly.
