Good customer service and they managed to fix the minor issue in the spot, speedy service

Service I received in the store when I picked up my bike was great and the assistant spent loads of time with me and answered all my questions.
Unfortunately my electric gears hadn’t been fully charged (I was told they had been) so they stopped working on my third ride.
I went back to buy some road pedals and a cycling jersey but the store was busy and there aren’t enough staff at peak times which is really irritating.

I called in to Balfe's East Dulwich unplanned recently mid commute as my gear shifter had lost a screw and was sticking. Yaz and colleague found a replacement screw and fitted it for me right away. Very friendly. No charge. Brilliant service. Many thanks.

Easy and simple. Got everything done in minutes and by son loves the bike!

12 days it took to do what was supposed to be a few days. I told them from the start that they needed a part, but they didn’t bother to check if they had the part. They didn’t update me. Even when I tried to call for an update half the time they don’t pick up the phone.
When you do talk to them they complain about being busy.
12 days with no bike to ride is really annoying.
I’m hoping I won’t ever need another trek part that forces me to use them again.

Absolutely amazing service

Staff were super helpful and supportive as I had to buy the bike along with various different parts and accessories. I initially went in to choose a bike, and the team were incredibly supportive throughout the often bureaucratic approval process for the Cycle to Work scheme, making everything much easier and less stressful.
The service was excellent from start to finish, from helping me find the best-value deals to advising on the work that could be done on the bike and the different options available. The staff were knowledgeable and patient - happy to answer ALL my questions!

The tyre needed substitution, I realised on my way back on the bike after the annual revision. The price is quite high for the revision itself, they asked me then to pay for the tyre (not the work for putting it on) but I was kept waiting on the shop for more than 30min before I could finally get the bike back. It works well now but since the service is so expensive it should be more thorough. They apologised.

Ordering under the “cycle to work” scheme was easy enough but when we came to collect (on a specific date) and made ourselves known to staff, the staff ignored us for 15’ and then we had to repeat ourselves again. The paperwork was easy and efficient but the staff did not check the breaks on the bike (we had to adjust them later at home ourselves as they did not work well). The bike itself (Giant talon 4) has atrocious quality of pedals - we were not warned about it. It resulted in minor injury to my calf as the pedals turned out to have very sharp edges. We have now replaced the pedals but feel the staff should have cared more and talked to us about it/been more proactive. I expected more customer engagement and attention given it is a specialised shop.

Really good knowledgeable staff,(Jonathan )super (helpful ,terrific service able to narrow choices down, ordered bike in, then was able to return a week later & test ride my choices. Very happy with my purchase.

The fellas at the East Dulwich store are top notch! Honestly every time I come into store I’m greeted with a smile and they get the job done incredibly quick and professionally. I would recommend buying and/or for repairs with Balfes East Dulwich!

Visited the Dulwich branch after work; easy to find and get to. I visited on this occasion to collect an online order ahead of a big ride. The staff there were very friendly and helpful. Pricing for most essential high-quality items are competitive and reasonable. There is a good selection available online and in-store. Additionally, there are free bike stands inside the store meaning you don't need to lock it outside and risk your ride being stolen

A good service

Service was great as usual. Balfe’s were helpful when I went in impromptu and asked to test ride the bike I saw in the window. They processed the order timely and were patient and understanding when I had to delay the build and pick up by several weeks. This the 4th bike I’ve purchased from Balfe’s over the past 18 months and the service has always been excellent.
