A review from a very unsatisfied customer

I bought a one year travel health insurance policy with AXAMANSARD which I did not use but was still charged for.

It is more annoying that I communicated with a representative about a destination change BEFORE the policy started reading (aka became “active”) and she did not mention I could pause or cancel the policy until I was sure of my new destination.

I asked for some form of compensation since I was going to buy another health insurance policy and was told no compensation as the policy was “active”.

On the 3rd of March 2026, I spoke with Rhoda, a customer service representative who told me over a telephone call that if the reason I wasn’t using the policy was due visa refusal/denial, then something could be done. So, you can imagine my shock and irritation when David Abiola emailed me to state “no refund” even after I submitted a visa refusal letter, again, because the policy was already “active”.

I understand destination or date change cannot be made when/after the commencement date of a policy has began. However, it is infuriating that no form of compensation can be given in this case.
It is ridiculous that an insurance policy is considered “active” when I (the buyer/client) am NOT in the location/country where the insurance was intended to be use.
