Don't waste your time

Login needed on a bi-daily basis
I have bought ApowerPDF in 2020 and all in all I have been satisfied with there product. It is a fairly expensive product for few functions.
My biggest concern now is that some time back, they changed licence activation from a key to a login, and now I need to enter username and password several times a week, when using there product. It is really annoying!

recorder ok, but service is inexistant or an alibi
The recorder is simple but good enough. I have just cancelled after five years because I lost access and there is no response from the help desk.
I spent an hour trying to restore access.
I lost access already in March in a separate incident and was just lucky to get it going again. The login process is totally intransparent.
Maybe it is that I am registered on two devices. But there is no way to find out if that is it except by spending time on trial and error. Response from the help desk was existant in March, but helped me only in my trial and error. They do not give you a new code to register, which would be the easy way. The old code does not do it any more.
In short: the worst contact with a corp for a long time. About the level of the bad end of crypto...
On to a new provider.
Software did not work
Sofware for unlocking used ipad with old icloud connection did not work and their support just said I have to buy a licence again.

Other than that I suppose the Apowersoft suite is alright. But the tools are way behind the technology wave now & the support is laughable.

REFUND REQUESTED, AGAIN! WARNING TO NEW POTENTIAL BUYERS: They couldn't care less! No support, and NOT RESOLVED. Still! the software "HANGS" if you touch anything, too fast, stops responding! Have to shut down, and restart. A hundred times in a day!! For goodness sake, guys, if you're it people, surely? You can fix this error in last 5 years!! NO RESPONSE WHATSOEVER! I've made a new refund claim! NEVER AGAIN.

Horrible and frustrating customer support resulting in the inability to activate a new subscription which ended up wasting hours of my time and required me to demand a refund.
I have been a customer for several years. I paid for and received a confirmation of a one year renewal. However, when I tried to use the program, it would not recognize that I had renewed and kept asking me for an activation code. Support had me try half a dozen ways to get the program to work. I took numerous screenshots which I printed to pdf and attached to the email chain (support refuses to call and support phone number does not work) but rep told me she did not have the ability to review email attachments. Finally, after 12 email exchanges I gave up as the rep was simply ignoring my requests including my final request for a refund.
My recommendation is to use a different company for screen recording.
I want to add that I started the verification process, but trust pilot wants me to send them a copy of government issued ID including a scan of the bar code on my license and I decided against providing such to them as it could easily be used to steal my identity.
Beware Mac Version Doesn't Have Edit Features
Their misleading website claims that within the software there's basic editing, and the ability to change resolutions, frame rate etc... NOT for the Mac version. Subsequently I spent over a week trying to get a refund with no reply.
TIP - In desperation I emailed "Paddlesoft" their payment provider, who refunded within 2 hours.

I downloaded it to record an important meeting and at the end, when I was about to save the recording, it said that I have to upgrade, otherwise, it'll only record 1 minute.
So I lost the entire meeting.

Apowersoft's Streaming App - high rate of dud leads s
I have only used Apowersoft's Streaming Audio Recorder. Over two years, the searches have provided a number of dud leads, items that won't download. Perhaps over the last six months, the number of leads that work has shrunk, maybe to one in five. These either come up as "Failed" or have the status of "Downloading" but remain on zero.
I contacted Customer Support a few months ago and they suggested reloading the app, but this has made little or no difference.
It appears that Apowersoft does not check that leads are still working. Would this be diffciult to do via a program designed specifically for this?
Updated February 2026: I have reduced the stars from three to one. 1) The search function has become far less useful. 2) The number of duds - tracks that won't download, is now 95%+. 3) My email to the company about 1 & 2 sent four daysa go has not been answered.

I do not believe this company exists anymore. I purchased the recovery product 5 days ago. Immediately ran into issues. Sent numerous messages to the company and received zero responses. Also there are no reviews since 2020.
