It's not worth the price

I bought a pair of joggers and a hoodie, and before I even washed them, the fabric was already covered in cotton balls and worn out. It's not worth the price for the quality they offer.

Would give zero stars if possible

Would give zero stars if possible. Ordered a sweater, they sent me an ugly pair of pants. A normal company would own their error and send the correct item, but these shamsters made me use my own money to mail the pants I never ordered back to them - for some reason, they can't create shipping labels for US customers even though they are a company called american vintage. Still waiting on my refund and they have gone completely silent on me. Avoid at all costs.

I received a gift of one of your jumpers but the size was wrong. I was away and when I went to change it, they said the policy is 30 days and it was past it. Couldn't even change the size. Would not recommend at all. No way I could have changed it before then but no flexibility at all.

Terribile quality and worse service

Well clearly they don’t care about their customers as can be seen here but just to add- beautiful sweaters but they look awful after just one wear - pilling unbelievably much and when I reached out to complain about this they told me this is to be expected..after just 1 wear?!! Never buying from them again.

Terrible experience

Terrible experience. Took a week of back & fro’ing to get the returns label (multiple calls without being able to get through & 3 emails without response). Was told I had to pay for returns to France which has just cost me £39.89. I am seriously unhappy & out of pocket!

I’m a bit torn about American Vintage

I’m a bit torn about American Vintage. On the one hand, their clothes are really stylish and comfortable, with great materials like soft wool. I love how simple and timeless the pieces are. The cuts are flattering and the colors are nice and easy to wear.
On the downside, I find the prices a bit high for what you get. The quality is good, but I expected a bit more for the price. Also, my experience with customer service wasn’t great — it took a while to get a response, and returns weren’t as easy as I’d hoped.
So, while I love the aesthetic and feel of the clothes, the high prices and slow service are a bit of a letdown.

Stay away!

Staff are not friendly and the clothes are low quality. Had to return a faulty item but was told no. No space in the UK market for this horrible brand, can’t even return purchased items.

DO NOT BUY FROM HERE

Terrible customer service, poor quality/fitting clothing and unbelievably expensive. I’m waiting on over a £300 refund from them and no one is getting back to me. Absolutely gutted I didn’t read the reviews before, do not buy from here.

Never again!

So their online shop really generously applied the VAT from my country and it's nowhere mentioned I need to pay VAT additionally upon receipt. And in the end when my package was supposed be delivered I had to pay the VAT, the customs and post fee because their shipments are not VAT free. Such a scam! Of course they're not answering to my E-Mails.

Worst service & returns EVER

The store on the Kings rd in London took ages to get to me whilst I was in store so I ordered online. I then tried to return in store and was told I had to do it online. After countless messages & calls to customer services i finally got my order number (the parcel arrived with no order sheet and no confirmation email was sent) I then go to return it and its £8 to return to France and I have to pay £27 in duty taxes! Will NEVER EVER buy from here again. Do not risk it, the quality is bad and its so expensive to return things.

Spitalfields, London store

Wow I’m struggling to describe what’s just happened. It’s laughable and I’m going over the events thinking - did that reallllyyy just happen?!

I need to rant and explain - I had reserved a jumper - last one available in the whole of London. Sold out online too. I made the journey specially for this, since I don’t live anywhere near Spitalfields but they were the only store that had this jumper, in my size and colour.

The day before I dealt with my local store. They asked the Spitalfields team to share photos of the jumper to confirm it’s in good condition - it looked good - and they put it aside for me.

I made my way to Spitalfields this evening, leaving work early. The first woman I dealt with was stood on her phone when I first arrived, fine, she went to grab “my” jumper upon request. I said instantly - ‘there’s someone else’s long black hair on this, I can see a pen mark (blue ink) and there’s pilling on the inside of the sleeves’. She reassured me it was fresh out the “box”. Second woman comes upstairs asking what’s wrong. I explained the situation and she was apologising but at the same time not taking ownership of the faulty item, explaining how these marks weren’t there yesterday and that her and her colleague definitely didn’t do this. I thought wow must’ve happened overnight… I literally spoke to them the day before.

The girls kept showing me a second jumper which they claimed genuinely was faulty and therefore in another, separate box. It was literally covered in finger marks, make up and actual dirt. I was instantly put off both jumpers.

I explained that I won’t be purchasing either and that it’s a shame as I’ve come all this way… they were kind of giggling, whilst apologising, but also unbothered and didn’t do anything to help.

Anyway, I said I’ll walk around and see what else they had. Nothing caught my eye so I made my way to the door to leave. This is the funny part - THE SECOND GIRL I SPOKE WITH HAD PLACED HER HANDBAG ON THE WHITE JUMPER I HAD RESERVED TO TOP UP HER MAKEUP. Shocked, I said ‘that’s probably the reason the clothes are dirty, you’ve put your bag on the white jumper’. Mental.

I never write reviews but honestly, I’m sat on the tube back to central London and I’m still a little shocked / laughing at this joke of an experience. Can’t wait to tell the team in my local store tomorrow and explain what happened. They’ll be mortified.

Even though I checked extra with customer service in advance, and they confirmed that there were no extra charges on top of the price in the Webshop, I still got an invoice for customs from UPS - almost a year after. Their customer service write poor English and keep stonewalling and stalling. Avoid.
