Sneaky butchery
I bought why I thought was and stated gammon joint.
It wasn't, it was 2 joints squashed together to look like one.
I thought the days of sneaky butchers were long gone, unfortunately by Aldi they are still here.
Poor customer service
Very disappointed with the customer service at Aldi Wellington Road, Wokingham.
We politely approached the manager (the gentleman wearing glasses) to ask about a parking issue, but his attitude was extremely rude and dismissive from the start. He showed no patience to listen properly and spoke to us in a very unfriendly manner.
We completely understand that staff can be busy, but basic courtesy and professionalism should still be expected, especially from a manager. Sadly, this experience made us feel quite unwelcome.
Was shopping in the Backworth branch…
Was shopping in the Backworth branch last week. We were just coming to the till with our full trolley of food when they said the tills had gone off. They asked if we wanted to wait or leave the trolley. Wouldn’t take cash either. Only around 15 customers and mostly hand baskets but after 15 minutes told us the electrics weren’t coming back on for a couple of hours. Not their fault but having finished our shopping after a full day at work to be told to leave the shopping and do it again somewhere else is really poor Aldi. For 15 customers mostly hand baskets a large business such as yours could have let us keep our shopping and not make us have to do this all over again. It wouldn’t have made much difference to your profits but would have really helped your customers out . Only giving two stars because the staff were so friendly.
As a mother
As a mother, I wanted to leave an honest review for other parents considering working at Aldi. I genuinely enjoyed the job itself and worked hard in my role, but my experience became extremely difficult when it came to balancing work with childcare responsibilities.
Despite having multiple conversations with management and clearly explaining the hours I could not work due to childcare commitments, I continued to be scheduled for those exact shifts. I tried to communicate openly and find a solution that worked for everyone, but I did not feel supported or listened to.
Sadly, the ongoing inconsistency with my rota eventually caused my child to lose her nursery placement, creating a huge amount of stress for my family. What upset me most was feeling like my circumstances were treated as an inconvenience rather than something that could be reasonably accommodated.
Retail is demanding, and I understand flexibility is needed, but working parents also need understanding and consistency. I’m sharing this review so other mothers are aware of the challenges they may face if they rely on stable childcare arrangements while working here.
I appreciated the support from some colleagues, but overall my experience left me feeling pushed out of a job I genuinely wanted to continue.

Long-standing Aldi customer but very disappointed with how a recent food illness report has been handled.
A few hours after eating an egg and cress sandwich purchased from Aldi in Bristol, I became suddenly unwell with severe stomach cramps, vomiting and diarrhoea while out at the cinema. Obviously neither I nor Aldi can prove definitively what caused the illness, but based on the timing and symptoms I strongly suspect the sandwich may have been responsible.
To be fair, Aldi responded promptly and apologetically. However, the process quickly became focused purely on refunding the sandwich cost, despite the seriousness of the symptoms and the disruption caused. As I no longer had the packaging or receipt after becoming ill later that evening, they advised they could not offer anything beyond their standard refund process.
What disappointed me most was the lack of reassurance that the matter had been proactively escalated from a food safety perspective. I reported the incident both online and directly to the store myself because I felt it was important that any potential issue was properly logged and checked.
I’ve generally had good experiences with Aldi over many years, which is why the handling of this situation has been disappointing.

Aldi Biggleswade self service
Aldi Biggleswade self service. Staff member was arrogant and rude. Told me if I did it properly, it would work fine . Not my fault till wasn't working properly.
Do Not buy their veg! Gross!!
In general, it's OK. However, I NEVER buy they're fruit n veg. It's awful.
But, I wasn't able to get to asda this week for my fruit n veg, so, I decided to give it another try and pick it up with the rest of my shop.
Fast forward two days to today, Sunday, I start prepping the Sunday lunch. I get to the spuds for the mash n toasties. I picked up two packets of 4 'baking' potatoes. They really weren't baking potatoes in my opinion. More like a large new potato! Anyway, as I peeled them, ALL 8 were black and bruised. Completely unusable. So, no mash and toasties for us today.
That is why I NEVER BUY ALDI VEG!!!
And they do not have a 'contact us' on their website. I wonder why??? Not!
Rude checkout lady
No problems until we reached checkout. Woman was very rude and arrogant- she told us that we had ‘placed our items in the wrong order’ and that next time we ‘should place our bulk items at the back’ which I have never heard any supermarket say before. She scanned the food really fast and seemed impatient when we couldn’t put everything in our bags that fast. Pretty pathetic in my opinion-Never again! This was at Stane Park, Colchester- Do not come here!
Aldi bearwood road,security aggressive…
Aldi bearwood road, security aggressive and unapologetic for accusing us stealing when we had just payed. Also even checked cameras and still apology and then refused to give details to my husband and then snatched his phone to stop photo him being taken. I would avoid this store for your own safety.
For a while now I have suspected the…
For a while now I have suspected the packs of frozen Atlantic prawns 250g have been getting smaller so I have defrosted last 3 packets I've had and drained a weighed them to find they are 230 to 240g. I do like the prawns but I find they make it difficult to complain compared to other supermarkets. If you buy their prawns check the weight like I did. It would be interesting to see if I'm just really unlucky or maybe my scales are wrong but I don't think so.
Absolutely disgusted by the parking…
Absolutely disgusted by the parking penalty notice by Aldi, Uxbridge UB8. I registered my car registration number in the machine provided as well as kept my shopping receipt so I am going to challenge. However, I wonder, what if I did not have my receipt or what about all the people who are continuously shopping there. We do not always keep our receipts! I will never be shopping there again! Scammers!
Omg I’ve just come out of Aldi…
Omg I’ve just come out of Aldi Chingford on the industrial estate, fuming. They have some ignorant Asian woman working on the self service checkout with the biggest attitude and an ignorant disposition! I was having problems with the till and called her over. She completely ignored me, chose to turn her back on me to chat to a colleague instead, then went to attend another lady who’d just called her over. I heard them mention how rude she was! Then ignoring me further she went to two other people before going to sit down again. I called her asking if she was ready to serve me yet. She rolled her eyes then came over, put her key in the machine and I told her that the landing tray that you put your goods on wasn’t working. Incredibly, and mockingly with a grin on her face she said “Aw isn’t it?”
I reported her immediately to her manager but have no doubt that nothing will be done!
Aldi, if you are reading this, you really need to step up your customer service training! At the very least customers deserve respect and a respectful service. I see that customer service is a huge problem at Aldi which points directly at a lack of training! Customers expect cheap products not cheap and tacky service!
Shame about the teacakes
Am a fairly regular shopper at Aldi, Carmarthen Road Cwmdu, Swansea, SA5 8LL.
The store is always clean and the shelves usually well stocked, with staff being helpful, even though they are always busy.
Today, after spending about £10, my shop including a pack of Teacakes (6) at £1.19, which were fresh, but had almost no fruit in them.
Apart from this my experience was good, with the cashier being friendly, and giving me time to pack.
Shame about the teacakes!

Aldi Grantham
Aldi Grantham - Yet again produce that has gone way by the use before date remain on the shelves for unsuspecting shoppers . This is the third occasion this has happened, which makes me angry due to my own stupidity.
Stick your store, you are not welcome to my hard earned money anymore.. Hello Lidl, I am back...
The Asia green garden Had the sweet and sour yesterday and the kung pao prawns today they were both amazing just as good or better than my favourite takeout really good only a main so no rice or chips but did have some veg in each , keep an eye out
I really wanted to mention some on special food I bought from me local but while I’m on I will say I’m going to avoid my local Aldi on Sunday it was like a nursery children screaming and running round not that I blame the store or the children it’s the parents who think they are giving right to let the do these things possible were brought up the same
