This bad review actually started about 3 years ago I believe it was when I first signed up with this company, the first 3 days were great so I couldn't just get rid of it. The problem started after that 3 days when I could no longer cancel unless I wanted to be charged thousands of dollars just to end the contract. The product that I had the biggest problem with was the video doorbell, it never caught the mailman who was 5 ft from my house when he dropped off the mail. Furthermore I feel that this company should not be in business with the fact that they have that contract that forces you to stay with them and pay for a service that is in my opinion completely useless. I really hope you read this review and stay away from them go with a company that is a little bit more reputable.
Ok...I have tried to like everything about Alarm.com. Their equipment is horrible. Everything seems to fail. Things disconnect. After arming we get errors....zones bypassed, smokes that don't work, auxiliary panel disconnected. I have written to them for support and they do not answer. We were promised access control for our office system, and it appears that Alarm.com refuses to send the equipment to our local security company. This has been ongoing for 6 months. We just give up.
Worst customer service ever, I have tried to contact the person assigned to my contract several times and their supervisor, no reply, no answer for months, now they don't even answer my call. If had the chance to get out of the contract I definitely would, but like I said they won't even answer phone
Had for a year now. Takes minutes to answer the door camera. App sucks. Slow to connect. I have excellent internet.
I purchased a model home with an existing security system. The old passcode for the panel was still in effect, and no one knew what this passcode was. I called alarm.com for technical support regarding this issue, and although it took multiple attempts, Ed from alarm.com was very supportive every step of the way in finding a solution despite things looking grim. Sure enough, the issue was resolved. Thanks again for everything!
I would give a negative zero if possible. The sales person in our area of Florida, Greg promised the world and gave us NOTHING.We paid $2,400.00 for three cameras that did not work correctly from the being..after calling and waiting over a week for him to show up..he showed ME what to do and left.Okay..lol great service. We had a problem one night and thank god I still had my blink up..it cought what was going on...not my 2400.00 system. Didn't call Greg, why would it matter..he doesn't help... but when the system went completely down, I did call..he said he went home and it showed on his computer my cameras went off???? no they didn't and he said well it shows it did.He got very to the fact, very argumentative, I had a meeting and could not get into the situation right then and said so.Next thing I know I answer a call from Alarm.com ..lol a 3 way call with Greg on the other end like a scorned child.Again..told the story..said i had to go and we got disconnected..next thing the emails start..no calls from the salesman... why not ..he basically took 2400.00 for nothing so hes happy...right??So we are left with a system that does not work. Next Alarm.com emails me directions and says the system isn't on line..after I told them we disconnected them and wanted to be reimbursed..something for what we got taken for. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE..POOR PRODUCT..RUN do not walk away from this company and its sales people..we are totally dissatisfied
I have had a very bad experience with this service. The tech missed a door to put a sensor. The monitoring was not always responsive, as we triggered the alarm and no phone call came from the company. I felt the company also was unfriendly in regards to customer service, and did not inform me when the service was canceled or that I would be billed for an additional month.
Started out with good customer service. Then you just do not get any support. Days and weeks go by without hearing back from them. Had issues with not getting video notifications for a minimum of 2 minutes and was told that is normal. We was using Alarm.com USA Alarm said we needed stronger wifi so we bought a new router and that did not fix it. Just a lot of money out of pocket for something we did not need. Then was told our internet needed to be upgraded. So we did that to gig service. Still did the same thing. And again just more money out of our pocket.
I can only say stay away from USA Alarm and Alarm.com they have some great features but it does no good if you have to wait a minimum of 2 minutes before you know that something set your cameras off. I have been back and forth for weeks on end with USA Alarm and Alarm.com to hear that is normal. Well it's not normal at all. We have cancelled service with USA Alarm and have another system and we get notifications within 10 seconds max that something has set our cameras off.
I had a Simon 3 alarm system that was failing me. I looked at Access Communications Coop and their Alarm.com smart home system. It was WORSE!. It gave me a false sense of security while thieves continued to pilfer my belongings and the cameras never caught anyone nor the sensors indicate any activity. I should have got a dog again.
I should have known right from the start - when i had a camera pointed at the garage and another at the front drive. The one pointed at the garage kept failing so I switched them and the garage cam was still the one that failed.
I have a motion activated picture cam in my garage pointed at the man door. I recently discovered that the panel display for this camera only shows archived pics from as far back as a year to a year and a half.
Because there is no evidence of the breakins I am being ignored by Access as well as the Police.
My advice - spend the money on dog food! At least if it is going to kiss the thieves it will wag its tail when it sees you. Otherwise it is hard to get the time of day from these folks when problems arise.
Terrible company and I don’t recommend signing a contract with them. My system itself needs serviced so I can use it and I can’t get the the company who installed it to come out, not can I get them to put me into contact with someone who will come out. I’ve called twice to both agencies and no one will respond. I can’t wait until this contract is over.
I am an Alarm.com Certified Technician, when I call for help, their Technicians are very professional, knowledgeable, patient, understanding and polite. By FAR the best Support Service in the business. The only complaint is the wait on line, otherwise 5 STARS
Terrible!
Equipment doesnt work at all.
Raised rates in contract because they can.
Didnt secure wires, electrical taped one wire three different places.
SCAM SCAM SCAM
Scum of the earth
DO NOT BUY
Very poor app. Camera recording and mobile access is horrible.
System has regular occurring errors. Will arm and disarm on its own. Good luck cancelling service, they auto renew you. Cannot wait to cancel. Hateful customer service when you try to disconnect service. No understanding.
Alarm.com installed their equipment incorrectly which caused a false alarm to alert. They came in and corrected their issue however left us with a $75 bill from Harris County. They also fail to point out key contractual information.
Just horrible service they show up present them selves as ADT sell you on bunch BS then their installer shows up with ADT diy kit and does horrible half as install and if it even works not usable just waist of time and money
If I could give 0 stars, I would. We have had problems since the day we had this system installed in our home. They wired it wrong twice and we have had to pay HVAC companies to come out and figure out what the problem is. The doorbell wasn’t installed correctly and doesn’t chime in the house and they are charging us a fee to have their person come out to program it correctly. DO NOT GO WITH THIS COMPANY!!!! You will be wasting your money!
Poor service and even worse customer service. They will lock you into a contract before you know how horrible the service is and make you pay even more to cancel. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! You will save time and money going with someone's else... anyone else, I promise that.
Garbage. Alarm.com doesn’t provide on-site support and my home security provider that sold me the system isn’t any help either. They come out but never resolve my issues.
By the time I get an alert that someone is at my front door, they’re gone. There are no saved recordings of my dog who is always running around my backyard or me walking around. But the cameras save every wasp or bug that flies in front of it. I’d give it a zero if I could.
I've had alarm.com for about three years now. It's junk. My system frequently encounters issues where the alarm.com web site and mobile app simply stop responding to commands. For example, sending the command to turn on and off lights, unlock or lock doors simply fails today. On their web site and mobile app, they show the command being received. Unfortuantely, that doesn't tell you whether or not the command succeeded as I found out the hard way (the commands are silently failing). The interface definitely has significant room for improvement and debugging and fixing the system should not require the service provider to come out. Remeber, this is an automated solution! Reliability is a huge disappointment as these issues occur REPEATEDLY every 4 to 6 months. I'm ditching this piece of junk for a better alternative that is reliable.
