Extremely overpriced
Extremely overpriced. Compared to other budget airlines, their rates are unjustifiable. I now avoid airBaltic entirely and always book with competitors who offer much more reasonable prices.
Changed our layover in Riga from 1 hour…
Changed our layover in Riga from 1 hour to 12 hours. The airline gave no explanation for the change nor were willing to help us get to our destination at a reasonable time. Stay away at all cost!
Bad service
Bad service,
My flight to Tallinn, I have to sit for 5 hours in Riga airport. I fly a lot but after you are so unstable I will not book flights from you anymore, I am very dissatisfied. You could at least give free seat selection, food and drinks at the airport, or something as compensation. What am I supposed to do for 5 hours in Riga airport, this is really bad service. Never again AirBaltic
Pretty nice experience.
Pretty nice experience.. One of my 4 flights was half hour late to defrost the wings.. Polite staff, clean airplane..
This company doest care at all.
This company doest care at all.
Luggage twice not there; both going and returning ! And then they tell you it will take 4 days to deliver them or you can come back yourself. 3 hours drive...
Every item is weighed and then later weighed again (oh yes, just after the boarding check there was another guy waiting); all made to make you pay more.
And on the flight, of course everything is payable.
We'll never fly with these crooks again.
Fraudsters
Fraudsters. Charging extra for hand lagguage. They say nothing on check in and then charge during onboarding
Scam with cabin luggage
airBaltic’s new policy allowing only 8 kg total combined cabin luggage (including a personal item) is highly unreasonable and misleading.
Even after paying for a carry-on bag, the 8 kg limit still applies to both the cabin suitcase and the personal item together. This means that if your suitcase itself weighs around 1.5 kg, you are left with roughly 6.5 kg for everything else — including clothes, electronics, and essentials. That is barely sufficient for even a short trip.
What makes this particularly frustrating is the pricing structure. The airline advertises very low ticket prices, but then charges €25 or more to increase the allowance to just 12 kg — sometimes the same price as the ticket itself. This feels less like a reasonable policy and more like a strategy to extract additional fees after purchase.
If the limit is strictly 8 kg, it would be more transparent to simply allow one small cabin bag instead of giving the impression that two items are permitted while enforcing a combined weight that makes this impractical.
This approach resembles ultra-low-cost carrier tactics rather than the standards expected from a national airline. It creates unnecessary stress at boarding and leaves customers feeling penalized rather than valued.
Very disappointing experience. I will spread the word amongst all my friends and colleagues to avoid Airbaltic from now on. SHAME ON YOU AIRBALTIC!
Terrible experience
Terrible experience. I was flying from Vilnius, Lithuania to Orlando, Florida via Amsterdam. My checked bag was 10 kg under the limit, and my carry-on weighed 10 kg. I was charged €30 for being 2 kg over the hand luggage limit.
Nothing was mentioned at the check-in counter, and I could have easily moved items into my checked bag. At the gate, the same staff member who had not said anything about weight restrictions earlier told me, “You should have read the rules when buying the ticket.”
Very disappointing customer experience and unprofessional, arrogant behavior. I will avoid flying with them in the future.
Disappointing Lack of Support for a Minor Passenger on Flight from Paris to Tallinn
I recently entrusted my minor daughter to Air Baltic on a flight from Paris to Tallinn, and I must say I am deeply disappointed by the experience.
When she accidentally dropped her ring under her seat, she politely asked the flight attendants for assistance. I would never have expected that, at that moment, the response she received would be that they “did not have time for this kind of thing.” When you entrust your child to an airline, you expect professionalism, care, and at the very least a minimum of empathy.
Fortunately, kind passengers seated behind her stepped in and helped her retrieve the ring. Without their help, she might have lost it permanently.
Such an attitude from cabin crew is simply unacceptable. Basic courtesy and support — especially toward a minor traveling alone — should not be optional.
Frankly, I cannot thank you for this experience.
Never fly with this air company!
Never fly with this air company!
Do not end up in their traps:
They sell you ticket for 90 euro, then charge you 30 euro on each connection flight for any kilo above 8kg.
Generally speaking fine as an airline
Generally speaking fine as an airline, but the business practices are bullshit; example is the option for upgrading club to exec - you lose points that you gained after a while. So I need to feel honored for spending money on something I already own, just for the sake of keeping it? Ridiculous to say the least.
Scam
I was amazed that after checking in for my flight, I was asked to weigh my baggage and charged a €30 fee for being only 2 kg overweight. The experience felt unfair and left me feeling scammed. I will not be using airBaltic again.
Airbaltic - definition of garbage.
The whole business strategy is completely unethical, teasing with small prices and then charging for every little detail that should just be included. Luggage policy and pricing is idiotic. Purchasing ticket forces you to go through 10 steps of purchasing stuff nobody wants. You can't even choose a frikin seat without spending money. Most frustrating is when you start purchasing a ticket, fill out everything and go through the whole process, start paying, then you receive a message there is a technical issue, goes back to beginning, and suddenly your ticket is 50€ more expensive. Wish there was any other company offering this range of flights in my country.
Worse airline
Worse airline. Expensive with worse quality than Ryanair. 30€ for 1kg over the maximum that is 8kg. They lost me as a customer. They prefer to get 30€ for 1 extra kg? Now they will loose my 700€ i will spend on the whole year. Do not choose it, is DEFINETELY not worth the price.
Scam company with luggage, they let you pay extra, no matter what
Scam company with luggage.
:( :(
Nice aircraft, but this is a humiliating that my bags where 2kg heavier and I need to pay 30 euro extra…
8kg combined cabin luggage limit is a…
8kg combined cabin luggage limit is a cheapskate move
Great charter flight service
Just finishing our return flight from Gran Canaria and using the free onboard wifi to write this. Very efficient crew both ways and the aircraft is spotless. Weather delay on outbound flight, which was obviously not the fault of the airline. Would recommend.
always cold and formal service
Customer support is typically formal and unspecific. I have requested wheelchair assistance for my elderly mother. The support agent sent a template reply ignoring that my mother will be on a connecting flight, not arriving to the aiport from the outside. My further emails were ignored. The motherland is unsurprisingly cold, formalistic, unhelpful, uncaring, and sadistic.
