I am scared to death

I am scared to death! I am a first timer and i have never boarded such an old and dirty airplane. Also i have had a lot of difficulty getting the online check in done.

Atrocious Service and Bullying Behavior Toward Passengers

This was the worst flying experience I have ever had. The company operates in a manner that can only be described as abusive toward its own customers. Rather than assisting passengers, the personnel appear trained to intimidate, displaying behavior that was discriminatory, aggressive, and profoundly unprofessional.

What I witnessed on board was appalling: a passenger with a visible disability was forced to walk down the aircraft aisle to a seat further back solely because the seats near the entrance were reserved for cabin crew due to a malfunctioning route configuration. The passenger repeatedly said “no, no, no” while struggling to move down the aisle. This scene was humiliating, distressing, and entirely avoidable. It was, quite simply, atrocious. And I have unfortunately more stories that each time make me incredibly stressed out thinking my country does not give me any other choices.

Aeroitalia clearly exploits its monopoly on routes to Sardinia, fully aware that many travelers have no real alternative. This lack of competition translates into open contempt for customers and a total absence of accountability.

It is deeply disappointing—and frankly embarrassing—to see Italy once again distinguished by such poor treatment of its own citizens. I will not travel with this airline again and sincerely hope it loses its public contract in the coming year due to its consistently inadequate and effectively nonexistent service.

I purchased the wrong bag when booking

I purchased the wrong bag when booking. By accident I bought the carry on package, not the checked bag. I sent three emails to this company… no response!!! I finally called, explained the situation to the extremely rude agent. All I wanted was to pay the difference for the correct bag. Apparently they don’t allow it, when asking to speak to a manager, I got this is the rules and he hung up on me!
DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS COMPANY!!! All the reviews are correct and they do NOT deserve your money.

AVOID this airline!!!

I’ve put one star because it didn’t allow me to put minus zero.

AVOID AVOID this airline at all costs! Bought tickets for my parents on the evening of the 9th of December from Rome to Milan.

They were charged 70 euros for not doing the online check in?
Once at the gate, they kept delaying the flight from 9 pm until 1 am, no information provided, the aeroplane did not leave Milan at all! Around 1 am they cancelled the flight. Passengers in the hotel for a morning return, scheduled departure 9 am, only to depart at 1 pm.

I have no words to describe how terrible they are, they have missed two connections from Milan to Hong Kong, with thousands of euros spent on changing flights. Absolutely terrible!

Avoid this airline at all costs

Avoid this airline at all costs. Cancelled our flights, never issued a refund. Lost $600. I deeply regret booking with Aero Italia and wish I'd read these reviews first. What seemed like a budget-friendly option turned out to be tantamount to a SCAM. They lure you with low-cost bait and change flights at the last minute. THEY DO NOT ISSUE REFUNDS. Avoid, avoid, avoid.

Rubbish airline

Rubbish airline. Very old planes that have literally plasters to keep things in place. Inexistent service and rude cabin crew. Why are they even allowed to fly?! Hopefully, bankruptcy will come soon.

Unprofessionalism!

Upon my arrival at Rome Fiumicino Airport, following a six-hour Emirates flight from Dubai, on the 27 September 2025, I was informed by the check-in staff that I could not be issued boarding passes, Rome-Cagliari. To my surprise, after a long night of travel, I was told that my booking was not valid due to my non-residency in Sardinia, and that I would have to purchase new tickets at full fare, without the option to pay the fare difference or a surcharge to correct what was a genuine mistake.
As I was traveling with my wife and my four-year-old son, who is autistic, I had no alternative but to immediately purchase a new booking at an additional cost of EUR 727.96 (already paid EUR 534.25) Total cost 2 adults and a 4 Years Old: 1,2622.21, return tickets.
Unfortunately, the check-in staff were unhelpful and discourteous, providing no explanation or apology for the situation. I would, however, like to commend the gentleman who assisted me in issuing the new tickets for his professionalism and courtesy.
On my return, Cagliari-Rome, Elmas airport, the airline ground staff directly informed me that I had booked no a new ticket and that I had to pay again to which I was extremely furious. After a serious heated conversation, they found the reservation and extended free of charge my luggages which I had some KG's extra. Unprofessionalism and way below other international or national airlines. I live abroad from 32 years and this airline should be banned from operating,

Absolutely no customer service …

After booking a flight on Aeroitalia from Rome to Milan, the airline sent a message saying that it had changed the departure time from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm. My flight from the states arrived in at 7:35 AM. They said if this change wasn’t agreeable I was to fill out a form for a complete refund. The letter Aldo stated that if I didn’t hear back from someone within 48 hrs to call them. I filled out the form. As a matter of fact zi filled out the form 3 different times! And then I decided to call the number that was listed. No answer. I never received a refund for my travel partner and myself and never received a response. This airline is a scam and their ability to respond is non-existent!

Not worth the extra for priority boarding

It was a good flight from Cagliari to Rome and left within 20 minutes of the suggested time. We purchased priority tickets which were a waste of time as after the children and disabled all other passengers were able to pass through to the plane. It was not well organised.

Relieving

So most people seemed to be having a bad experience here, but mine was just fine. Super smooth flying and procedures on both the initial and return flight - no major issues.

It has been mentioned by others that they are very specific and annoying about baggage but in my experience they weren’t too rigid. Solid.

Still chasing €329.98 refund for them cancelling flight; 2 months later!!

My flight booked with AeroItalia was cancelled by the operator on the 1st June. We were given the option of selecting the proposed alternative flight date and time, accepting vouchers or a full refund. I selected full refund. This was early June.

Waited for the refund of €329.98 to come through. Nothing. So I called AeroItalia to chase payment in Mid-July and was told the payment would be processed shortly. NOTHING. 7th August I emailed them to chase payment and raise complaint. NOTHING. It is now 27th August and I am still without the refund of €329.98!!

Tried to call them today, rang for 30 minutes before the phone was automatically ended. Not only does AeroItalia have SHOCKING CUSTOMER SERVICE but they are also thieves. Not to be trusted with your money!!

The support doesn't even answer to your emails, they make changes to your flights without caring about ruining your plans, their workers are careless.

Hell no, bad one!

DO NOT TRAVEL WITH THESE THIEVES

I traveled with Aeroitalia as an unaccompanied minor, and the experience was honestly terrible. First of all, they added a hidden fee of €100 per flight just because I was a minor traveling alone. This wasn’t clearly mentioned anywhere during the booking process.

Because of this, I couldn’t check in online. When I left from Romania on June 19, I was lucky that they didn’t charge me for the in-person check-in. But when I returned on July 19, I was forced to pay a €35 fee because the check-in was already closed three hours before the flight—which I think is completely unreasonable.

Also, at the airport in Rome, the check-in staff spoke only Italian, no English at all. I had to get help from an airport assistant just to understand what they were saying. Then, when it came to payment, they only accepted cards. I had a Romanian card that didn’t support euros, so the payment didn’t go through. In the end, I had to borrow money from another Romanian passenger just to be able to fly.

What shocked me most was how the flight to Bacău (Rome–Bacău) was treated. It was the last flight of the day, on the last gate in the terminal, and the last plane on the runway. We had to ride a bus for nearly 20 minutes just to reach the aircraft, which was old and worn-out. Compared to other flights boarding near the terminal, it really felt like Aeroitalia treated this Romanian route with disrespect, almost like a subtle form of discrimination or bias against Romania.

Overall, I had a stressful, frustrating, and disappointing experience. I do not recommend Aeroitalia, especially for minors or anyone flying to Romania.
