A local company a was very important to me. I did not want to buy from a national company who would just subcontract the installation out to another company or person. From quote to finished installation, all the people worked for the company, and were fantastic to work with.

Fabulous company to deal with.
After getting quotes from many national and local companies. Ben at AB was the only installer who looked to add panels on the lower part of my chalet style roof. After reading a number of horror stories of scaffolders not turning up etc I was attracted to AB due to being local ish to me. Ben didn't try and upwell and was very patient with my many questions.
Once id pulled the pin, Flo at the office was so efficient in getting the paperwork sorted and DNO application. About 10 days before install the electrican gave me a call and made some enquiries using the photos I'd supplied.
Come install week everyone turned up when they should. The scaffolders were great. On install day, three great guys arrived just after 7am and cracked on, not finishing until gone 6. The site was left clean, tidy and the app to control everything explained.
By next day my MCS certificate was issued and printed copies arrived a couple of days later.

A week or so later I received a call to check all was OK.
I cant fault AB, they did what they said they would, when the would for a very competitive price. The installation team were fantastic and scaffolding was cleared quickly.

We had AB Renewables install a 7.5Kw system with a Tesla Powerwall on our new build home in July 2024.
Ben was our main contact and he was, simply, brilliant to deal with. The system was installed quickly and efficiently, and commissioned without incident.
We have had a couple of issues since installation, mainly weather related, and Ben and his team sorted them immediately.

I recently purchased a diy solar PV system 0.8kw with g98 inverter from AB Renewables. Was impressed with the help I have received. I had a few issues which was down to my house to outbuilding wiring which is now resolved. The output of the solar panels is better than I was expecting and can see clear results on their app and my smart meter. Normal daily running without solar is 14pph now -6 to 4pph with solar. Projected payback is around 18 months including install costs, I was anticipating twice this.

We recently had Aiko solar panels and a Tesla Powerwall 3 with Gateway installed by AB Renewables, and the entire experience has been outstanding.

This company installed free cavity wall and loft insulation with heating controls at our property on Greenwood Road, Oldbury, and I couldn't be happier with the work. Our house is now much warmer, and the bills have gone down.

I contacted Ben at AB Renewables in November 2023 after my original solar installation company went into administration. From the start, Ben was incredibly responsive, providing several options tailored to my budget. After careful consideration, I opted for a solar system, two Tesla Powerwall 2 batteries, and a Zappi Charger. The system was successfully installed in February 2024, and I cannot fault the process. A new G99 application was submitted with an 18kWh export limit, which was approved by the DNO. I also received a comprehensive handover pack with all the necessary documents, including the MCS Certification, Building Control Notification, and Electrical Installation Certificate.

I held off writing this review initially because of my previous experience with another provider and to ensure the after-sales service matched the exceptional pre-sales support. I’m happy to say that AB Renewables exceeded my expectations. While I didn’t encounter any major issues with the system, the inverter occasionally tripped, and I wanted the system fine-tuned so that the house load wouldn’t draw from the battery unnecessarily. Ten months after the installation, I reached out to Ben, and he promptly arranged for one of his team to check the system. They replaced a breaker and adjusted the EV Charger setup so that the Powerwall no longer interacts with the charger—preventing my car from accidentally draining the batteries.

In contrast with their competitors, you get a very knowledgeable and personalised service as you deal directly with the owners of the business. This makes a huge difference as issues are easily dealt with and in our case a relatively complex installation was achieved with minimal hassle. Highly recommended.

After getting a number of quotes for our solar installation, we decided on AB Renewables. The price was very competitive and the paperwork straight forward. The friendly team arrived on the arranged day, and on time. The installation took less than a day and was neat and tidy. I would recommend them if thinking of having solar panels fitted.

I wanted an additional Tesla battery installed to my solar system that had been installed by a different company. I had a quoted for the work from the original company and had placed the order with them. After 6 months waiting and continually phoning for an installation date without success, I decided to try elsewhere. I had several quotes online from large Energy Suppliers who quoted silly money. I came across AB Renewable online. I asked them for a quote, they came back to me quickly with a better price than the original quote answered all my questions and said they could do the installation in two weeks if I gave them them go ahead.
I agreed the job with them cancelled my order with the original company. The battery was installed on the agreed date. They now have another very happy customer. I just wish I had discovered AB Renewables sooner. I found the experience with AB Renewables excellent.

Went with AB renewables after getting over 10 quotes for my Solar panel with battery installation. This was the most competitive quote I received and included an EV charger and Eddie. From start to finish and commissioning I cannot fault AB renewables. Ben was always available to discuss the initial plans and what was needed. Once a decision was made the installation was scheduled on my timetable. I had a change of thought four days prior to installation and I wanted to go with Tesla battery and this was accommodated without any fuss. Installation was smooth. The electrical engineer did an excellent job of finishing the cabling etc without affecting the appearance with a great finish. Been commissioned now and all working. Ben was available throughout the entire process and was responsive to telephone calls and emails. Great job well done.

We've been researching Solar for around four months and had a pretty good idea what we wanted. After speaking with a number of different companies, both recommended and found via Google, we eventually got in touch with Ben from AB Renewables. He was highly knowledgeable, very friendly, not at all pushy and the system, price, date of install were all absolutely brilliant. In fact they managed to beat our best quote by over a thousand pounds. Our certificates were delt with promptly and we started to prepare for the install. We emailed Ben on the Sunday before install with a couple of last minute questions and was very pleasantly surprised to receive a reply within the hour. The installers arrived early on the Monday morning and set to work. They were a friendly group of lads and we were hugely impressed by how professional they all were. The next day we got to meet the electrician, Remi - He was also highly professional, friendly and so happy to answer any questions we had about the system. So with solar installed we had to get our head round the app...that's where Ben stepped in again, he popped round the house to give us a personal walkthrough of the settings and has been able to change things remotely twice since our install to optimise the system. I can't give the team enough praise for their work and support...I genuinely wish all companies could operate like this. A huge thank you from us to Ben and his excellent team.

I'm not going to comment on prices as they're far too volatile, but I got a fabulous deal. Substantially less then my opposite neighbour for a larger system, optimisers and dual batteries.
