Pressure sale tactics and still ringing me 18mths later
Arranged an appointment for someone to visit and quote for me for one patio door after they knocked on the door saying they were in the area. When he arrived he sat on my sofa nearly 90mins & more than overstayed his welcome trying to get me to agree to the work. Even ignored me getting my dinner out of the oven. I should have spoken up but felt uncomfortable. Pressure selling - pretending to ring office and get big discounts if I agreed to have work done in so many weeks. It was all totally unbelievable and still wasn't a competitive price. All this was early autumn 2025. When they have called me since I've said I've had the work done by another company, please remove my details/ don't call again but had another call today 12 February 2026! I will report them to the Information Commissioners Office if they contact me again
Pressure selling to people in there 80s
Good afternoon
I did not realise companies still did pressure selling until I meet your rep Barry at my in-laws he spent three hours trying to sell them a garage door i found his manner very aggressive and rude . my in-laws are in there late 80s as we arrived at there house he was getting my mother in law to sign for the door and he had already taken £800 from them
I will be interested in what you think of this person working for your company
Regards a very concerned mr r Williams
Doors
Doors, I was very pleased with the doors we ordered, we were looking for some good secure doors for our home and we found them with this company, The fitter was very friendly and a hard worker also tidy too. I throughly recommend them. A good job from start to finish. Also the sales side prasant was very helpful too. Thank you.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS. RUDE, PUSHY, OVERSTAY THEIR WELCOME
Young guy comes round with his sales pitch stating they are doing work around the corner (2 roads away) which we know was incorrect.
Sales guy who came overstayed his welcome. Ended up being in the house for 1 and a half hours. Very rude and abrupt. Makes you feel small and tries to be intimidating. Quotes a very expensive price, states we can get it discounted if we start sooner. Calls his boss to get a reduction - £6500 initial quote changes to £5500. Then gets further reduction to £4950. I’ve already discredited the company based on this reduction and it doesn’t show genuine value on the service they were going to offer as they want to overcharge in the first instance. They then proceed to offer finance. From initially stating 10% deposit required, it then changes to £100 in which we said we’ll think about. Sales guy is looking at me like I’m dumb not proceeding. Extremely pushy, and thinks he can bully people into proceeding.
AVOID!

A very unpleasant sales experience
A pleasant young man knocked on my door to ask if I was thinking of getting my windows replaced. I told I am but not for a while yet but I'd like a rough idea of the cost. I had a call back the same day from quite a pushy man and agreed for him to pop over and provide a quote the next day.
When the salesman arrived he was a bit overly friendly and familiar which made me a little uncomfortable. He then explained that he would measure up all of the windows I wanted to replace and proceeded to do so. This took much longer than I expected as he was very chatty. I assumed he would go away, do his calculations and contact me with a price. Instead he got equipment out front his car and went into a LOT of detail about how the windows are made etc. This is all fine but he had been in my house for over an hour at this point and I had work to do.
After over an hour and a half he provided a price that was way out of my budget. I explained that I am a single parent and need to stick to a tight budget. He then proceeds to discuss finance options and associated discounts if I sign up today. Again, I reminded him that I'm not planning on replacing windows just yet and in any case I would need time to consider whether I could afford the monthly repayments. At this point he was getting really pushy and made 3 calls to the office to authorise further discounts that I could only have if I signed up and pay a deposit today. Everytime i said I won't sign up he would find a way to reduce the price further. I asked for time to think about the offer but he was adamant that I sign up NOW!
I told him I wasn't willing to commit to over £10,000 of finance without considering first. At this point his tone and demeanour changed when he realised I wouldn't be bullied into signing up. I asked what would happen if I wanted time to think about it and was told that he would leave. So he did, in quite an unpleasant way.
Before agreeing to a quote,be prepared to put aside over 2 hours of your time. I would also suggest having another person with you, especially if you are in any way vulnerable or not confident in speaking up to bullies. They are very, very, very pushy and don't take no for an answer.I dread to think what a financial mess some people may find themselves in after being pushed into taking on a large financial commitment.
The whole experience was very uncomfortable, especially towards the end of the visit when the salesman's anger was apparent. I also lost over 2 hours of my work day as I work from home.

Recommended by a former neighbour. Excellent from start to finish. Not pushy salesman. The fitters were excellent and left my house tidy. Would recommend.

Canvassed our neighbourhood with a well rehearsed speech about doing work around the corner (which they weren’t) and had loads of neighbours asking about their great work (which they weren’t) and that they had special prices available for a limited period of time (which constitutes pressure selling). Don’t like their tactics and won’t be using them.

Lovely windows. Two experienced lads. Nice and tidy. Very polite as well. Great experience from start to finish. I have placed a new order for our back patio doors
