New to workfront
Let me start off by saying that I'm very open minded about new software. I was hoping to leverage workfront as a project management tool and an IT-Help Desk work request tool. Three basic key elements, I was looking for in my review was:
1. Ease of use for user and admin
2. Easy to manage projects work and requests at a glance
3. Quick reporting tools to track project status/hours or work request status/hours
Perhaps I need to play around with my customize views a little more or it’s just a software limitation, but coming from an IT Help Desk environment in my previous place that uses BMC Track-It and CRM software heavily, I find workfront has room to improve. Perhaps in the next version we can have information all displayed in one central screen and users can customize what they don't want to see.

Missing features.
Agile needs a lot of work, group status should be allowed on agile boards. Need to be able to embed images into the updates.
Great experience!
We have had a great experience with Workfront so far. We are 3 years in, and are still getting prompt and professional support if and when we need it. Having met up a few times with other users now, we realise any difficulties we have (i.e., user adoption) are mainly the same as everyone else, so we can share tips and best practice.
Using Workfront has made our working lives so so much easier.

Falls Short For Agile
Fortunately, if you're in tech chances are that you run your projects in some form of Agile.
Unfortunately for you, this is where WF falls incredibly short. While it's incredibly flexible and allows you to do many things the more experienced you become with it, I can't help but feel that WF was built for something else. It seems like it was a MS Project competitor that was adapted for Agile work.
The most mundane tasks like issue/bug creating and story pointing can turn from simple things into a complex exploratory mission in a UI that's been slapped together without thinking of intuitiveness and UX. If it was up to me I'd honestly use JIRA, but WF is ok.
Solid, useful tool
Being a die hard MS Project user for many years I was skeptical regarding Workfront. After having used the tool now for several years now I find myself missing MS Project only occasionally. I have grown to appreciate the simplicity of Workfront and the effectiveness of the communication tools in the system. My team members are neophytes in the area of project management but have been able to learn the tool quite easily. The tool enables me to communicate project status with leadership at the push of a button and that makes them very happy.

Fantastic PMO tool
Fantastic PMO tool.
We use this extensively within IT but others outside of IT are also seeing the benefits and want to use Workfront.

A good and customisable work management system. A particular marketing focus for the past year or so has detracted in terms of product development for general PPM. Hoping to see this more balanced in the future. Overall, still a good bunch of people to deal with.

I was annoyed with the fact that I was on the leader board as 1st place and didn't win anything - as that is what impression I had from share and win but I may have missed a trick? Otherwise the rest of it was outstanding!

High cost and complexity / little value
Have been using for about a year and still not operational. Users avoid the system, management resents the waste of money, my reputation as a PMO builder is damaged.
Reporting is abysmal - provides little info, can't combine info, looks horrible, need to spend hours leaning "reporting" to make up for lack of polish and development by the workfront team, can't control colors or order of display, can't email charts, can't email dashboards, ugly time stamp at the top of everything, can't report on agile burndown, could go on forever.
Takes a ton of complexity to get back the simplest information.
It's a system of many parts that don't integrate with each other. Scorecards can't be reported on, custom forms can only hold custom fields, the Portfolio Optimizer provides no value beyond the first day of planning for a year and doesn't take actual information into account and can't be customized to do so.
Creating project plans is unnecessarily difficult. Have to refresh the screen after every drag/drop to make sure it's displaying correctly, things go into the wrong place, the indenting is confusing, it's slow, can't bulk edit, and can't undo.
CAN'T LEVEL RESOURCES ACROSS PROJECTS? Don't call yourself an enterprise project management system.
Have to make SO MANY reports because the system can't support dynamic input. Need tons of variations of the same report and then have to give them different names, even though they're the same report - or have the same name and can't find what you need. Report and dashboard management is horrible.
Instead of learning how to write/program/configure views, reports, filters, etc. I could have spent the time building a system from scratch that would have delivered what I needed and that's what I tell colleagues looking for a recommendation on a system.
I don't think the workfront team uses workfront or manages projects at an enterprise level. I know you're not using workfront to manage requests in the Idea Exchange. What are you using to manage projects, portfolios, and teams?

Satisfied with one request
I am very satisfied with using Workfront. I am only missing the risk analysis better, more developed sheet, where I could estimate a risk of project in one place/sheet.

The product is easy to use, the people are committed to the users having a positive experience with the product, and the community is the best source of quick help.
