Seller demanded paid expert report for warranty claim
The ice maker stopped working completely after approximately 17 months, no cooling and no water feed to the ice maker.
When I contacted the seller, they refused to process the warranty claim unless I paid for an independent expert report to prove an original defect.
Under Swedish and EU consumer law, defects that appear within the first two years are presumed to be the seller’s responsibility, and consumers may not be required to pay for such reports.
The seller instead relied on German law (§477 BGB) and declined to handle the claim further.
The matter had to be escalated via Amazon.
