All fine but the pricing is high

All fine but the pricing is high. Now, we know good things are not free but I would say, they overcharge because they are best in the business :( Otherwise, all fine & first-class

I love this app!

I love this app. I run my entire agency invoicing through this and i like the way it automates both domain and hosting renewals.

If you are new to hosting and billing automation software, WHMCS support is amazing!

I run multiple Plesk servers and wanted a billing system that worked with the least amount of setup and I didn’t want compromises. I tried a few other systems (upmind, FOSSBilling), and considered other paid solutions but there was always something missing or a strange quirk; one system wouldn’t allow me to backdate a package or void an invoice and remove it completely from the billing system.

After searching Reddit and Plesk’s community and seeing a lot of positive information about WHMCS, I contacted their support to see if my workflow would fit with their software. The pre-sales (and post-sales) support has been amazing and I’ve always received a quick response that is very clear to me (being so very new to this). Sure, their software isn’t the cheapest and they recently had another price increase BUT, after spending weeks fiddling with all the other systems out there, I was able to get WHMCS up and running in hours, and that is worth the extra expense alone!!!

I am still working on tweaking and adjusting things the way I want them to work but with WHMCS, I can do this and there are no compromises!

Owned License become bricks

I bought whmcs Owned License because its lifetime, when I invest them they were still "small" potential company", but now they've grown, they no longer value their loyal customerw anymore.

Addition info: my account no login for long time, now my account show nothing about the "Owned license“ I have purchased, neither old/legacy whmcs version nor transaction history! they have removed everything!!

Hi Stephen,
Thanks for taking the time to write your review.

Please rest assured that you can continue to use the version of the WHMCS software purchased with your Owned license ago plus any subsequent updates purchased thereafter indefinitely, as we have honoured all Support & Update packages to their conclusion. Software maintenance and security updates are provided in line with our published Long Term Support policy: https://docs.whmcs.com/Long_Term_Support

We transitioned to a monthly pricing model in 2016 and if you wish to update to benefit from the latest updates and new features, it would be necessary to migrate to monthly billing, so that all users are paying the same amount for the same product and 24x7 service. We're pleased to have had you as a customer from the early days and so have a generous discount available to make the switch.

Please don't hesitate to get in touch with our Customer Service team if we can clarify anything further: https://www.whmcs.com/submit-a-ticket/

From Good to really bad!

From Good to really bad!
We use WHMCS since many years and quite a while ago the price suddenly spiked by 10 times as what we paid prior.

In addition, if you need urgent help when migrating as we did, you wait days for a ticket reply and live chat tells you to move to ticket as it is too "complicated" for them.

Needless to say the pricing for hundreds of dollars and lack of support sucks big time.

But as they have no real competition they will continue to milk businesses until hopefully, someone comes along with a better product to a better price.

We currently considering switching to Wordpress and writing a backend ourselves as this is just more the bad.

Hi there,
Thanks for taking the time to leave your share your experience with our support team. I've reviewed your account and I can see the average response time to your tickets during 2024 has been 1.22 hours, which is within our standard support SLA.

In this particular case, our support team performed initial assessment immediately via live chat and determined that we'd need to access your systems to analyse your database directly, so transferred to a ticket to securely collect access credentials.
I see that in the meantime you were able to restore the table that was initially suggested might be the cause of the problem in live chat, and resolve the issue.

We understand that timely support is important for a business-critical system like WHMCS, and we are pleased to offer a range of support options and SLAs to meet everybody's needs, something our competitors cannot. This includes things like live chat support and enhanced ticket response time SLAs.

Please don't hesitate to get in touch with our Customer Service team if you'd like to discuss how we can customise our support offering to best meet your requirements: https://www.whmcs.com/submit-a-ticket/

It was a great product that came with…

It was a great product that came with good support. I purchased an owned licence to show my dedication and also because It was a good deal having a smaller amount to pay only for suport and updates. This initial funding allowed them to grow and sell themselves to webpros, a sharky bunch caring only for profits, cancelling support for owned license holders, even if this was promised on their website. Now they want clients to pay more if the small hosting company has more clients, but they do not offer any extra services it's the same license, just an arbitrary number above which you have to pay more. Also constant price increases yearly to make sure their profits are up, which people should not pay. There needs to be some rebalancing in this the more clients you have the more the license costs. For what? I recommend other much cheaper alternatives that have a long term support and pricing promise.

Exorbitant pricing for long-term customers

Since WebPros acquired WHMCS, pricing has skyrocketed by an eye-popping 1000%. As a long-term customer, we're now stuck with a license that's no longer upgradeable.

Here's the math: They charge $1 USD per customer per month. So, if a domain generates $1 USD in earnings, the entire profit is consumed by the license fees. It's unsustainable and feels like a cash grab, especially for those of us who have been loyal customers for years.

Disappointment as a lifetime license holder

As a lifetime license holder, this company did me dirty now that I can't update. I was happy to pay each year to access the upgrades, now I don't have that option. Keeping secure software is now not an option, so the lifetime license is useless.

Been great for a few years, but the new price increases is not fair.

Been great for a few years, once you get to know the bugs and how the system works, it works well. However the price increases, especially this years going up 20% is too much for small hosting companies such as my self who already run on tight margins.

Poor support.

I am a new client to WHMCS, but not new in this industry, and i have to say that asking money for extra support ( for priority it`s not a good practice ). At the value of the subscription i think we should get response to our tickets in max 1-2 hours. Other companies, that offers subscription for similar products, have a better response rate, for a lower price, on WHMCS you have to wait with hours. The persons who says they have a good experience with their support, either use the highest tier of subscription or are fake reviews. It`s not the first time when i get response after almost 12-20 hours after i opened the ticket... Terrible support. In my opinion they can offer a better reponse time for the value they ask us to pay, or either reduce the costs of the license, and add support as a paid extra functionality.
