Absolute scam! Avoid this at all cost. Had to pay an extra £200 since my credit card had my initial instead of my full first name. I've rented a lot of cars and never had this. It is a pathetically weak excuse to barely conceal their scam.

Was worried after reading some of the terrible reviews. Was picked up just down from Liverpool airport within 5 minutes, and taken to the nearby depot. The driver and office manager Sam was very friendly, and the rental and paperwork very straightforward. We were back on the road, in an almost new car, within 10 minutes. Couldn’t fault them in any way.

The worst rental car ever ! at frankfurt airport, they changed the car we booked online, and the deposite is 900 euros, and where we take back to car, there was a very minor scratch on the wheel, they said that is damage and charged as for this, plus 50euros for administrative part only ! so please avoid this company since they are made to still money from you in any way.

I have booked 5 cars through enterprise this past year without any problems. My partner booked a car with Wheego through a 3rd party booking company. We ended up having to pay an extra third of the price because our plane arrived at Liverpool Airport late and we didn’t get to their offices by 1810.
The manager Saleem that I dealt blamed the company’s procedures!!
Rip off from start to finish - DO NOT GO NEAR THEM - there are lots of decent car hire companies out there. I hope the guy in the office (Mo) can get a job somewhere else because he tried his best and seems like a decent sort.
Let’s see if Wheego’s customer service does anything about my complaint…4 days later - nothing back from Wheego. Their standard response is obviously a just a brush-off - what a truly awful company.
Well that closes that episode - two week car hire finished, car returned and not a single word from Wheego’s Customer Service. WHAT A BUNCH OF COWBOYS!!

My experience with Wheego was the worst I have ever had with a car rental company.
I booked and paid for a Skoda Octavia (IDMR class) through Auto Europe at Cologne Airport. When I arrived, I was told to sign all the rental documents and the vehicle condition report around 30 minutes before I even saw the actual car. I was given a completely different car: a Skoda Scala Combi, which is a smaller / lower category vehicle than what I had reserved. No one informed me, no discount, no explanation.
At the desk I was pressured to buy their local insurance package and told to pay ~€300 to Wheego for their casco. I refused. I was explicitly warned that if I didn’t accept their offer, any scratch would cost me €900 and they would charge me accordingly. This felt like intimidation to force customers into paying extra on the spot.
When I finally saw the car, the rear bumper already had multiple dents and scratches. Some minor damage was mentioned in the paperwork, but other obvious damage — including a visible dent on the upper part of the bumper — was not documented at all. I immediately took photos and video before driving to prove that this damage was pre-existing.
When I returned the car, I asked if everything was fine and I was told “yes, everything is fine.” I was not asked to sign any return inspection, and nobody mentioned any new damage. Hours later I received a claim accusing me of causing damage and, even worse, their report said I had “refused to sign.” That is completely false. In fact, about a week later they sent me that same form and asked me to sign it, which proves their initial statement was invented.
I provided Wheego with photo and video evidence clearly showing that the bumper damage existed before I ever drove the car. They ignored it, didn’t download the files, and still kept €900 of my money blocked for weeks with no resolution.
So to summarize:
• I paid for an Octavia and was given a cheaper Scala Combi.
• I was forced to sign paperwork before seeing the car.
• The car was already damaged and not fully documented at pick-up.
• Staff pressured me at the desk about insurance/excess and threatened large charges.
• They later tried to blame me for the pre-existing damage and falsified return notes.
• They have kept €900 of my money for weeks.
This company acts dishonestly and manipulatively. They delay, they pressure customers, and they refuse to take responsibility. Avoid Wheego at all costs. I would never rent from them again.

Renter through Carjet iN katowice, they proposed a higher package thant the one booked online and as we did not pay the insurance when we returned the car 2 daysa after they found (I believe it was already there) a minimum bump almost invisible at eyesight (they guy did not insepct all car but "went directly on that spot"). They chargee 550 Eur to repair it. I highly personally recommend to not use them neither car jet.

We rented a car i oktober 2025 at Wheego in Preveza Airport in Greece.
It was very good. We got the car quickly and they took some photos of the car.
When we delivered the car back after a week they made a quick check of the car an concluted that no damages hade been made. After a few minutes we got an email that confirmed that.
Very good service and no problems :-)

Hired a car with Wheego through stressfreecarrental.com
All went amazingly smoothly- picked up the car from Manchester Airport (shuttle service delivered through Clayton hotel)
Hussein served us and was very helpful and kind. The only disadvantage was when I started reading the reviews and thought that I was going to be scammed! I had no issues whatsoever. Brand new car, friendly staff, easy pick up and returns

We booked a hire car via CarJet online, to pick up from Wheego at Manchester airport. We presented the physical credit card we had booked with at the Wheego office.
They said they could not accept the card because my full name is not printed on it (even though this is the card I made the booking with).
They tried to sell me a much more expensive package instead of honouring my original booking. In the end they said they would have to cancel our hire and we would receive a refund in 2 to 3 months. This was our only option. So we are now stranded somewhere near Manchester airport.

They did not accept our ensurence from booking.com. so we had to buy a new one, which were 4 times as expensive.
And they did not mark witch area we couldn't drive, and afterwards we had to pay 500 euro i fee. (They threatened us they would call the police if we did not pay and that we might not would catch our plane)

I booked WHEEGO RENT A CAR through DoYouSPain (a booking consolidator whom I have successfully used over several years).
The last time I booked through YouDoSpain, I had a genuine accident where I damaged the car door in an underground car park. The cost of the damage incurred was £400 c.€460. This compares to €1,488.51 for what can only be described as minor scatches. Given their size and the speed at which these minor scratches were found when I returned the car indicates that they were probably already known to WHEEGO RENT A CAR.
Coupled with the "click bait" charging structure €36.66 and the most expensive tank of fuel known to man, WHEEGO RENT A CAR will significantly negatively impact the YouDoSpain brand. A brand I have trusted for several years.

In 10+ years of renting a car something like every two months on average for business or personal life, I've never had an experience remotely as strange as this one. Renting through a portal giving a competitive price, I must have mis-clicked thinking I rented at one of the big players I have tons of experience with, or I wouldn't have ended up at Wheego Mobility—every newbie in my book gets cross-checked on Trustpilot, and that would have put them out of contention without the mis-click. The car would be 4 stars, the customer relation 1 star, that explains the rating I give them. The car was o.k. overall, albeit with screen wipers in bad shape and surprisingly dirty on the outside, especially in at least two places around the lower frame where you could overlook damage that wasn't on the check-out report. This was Frankfurt Airport, so returning half a mile to the counter and showing them I had done my homework and back to the car took quite some extra time. The pick-up as a whole was disappointing. Being told they would cash in rather than pre-auth the deposit came as a surprise to me—never heard of that before—and my pointing that out sent the agent into a subdued mood seemingly quoting with half a mind from the book he'd been given in training those passages he was himself certain were meant to silence the customer rather than answer his concerns. Also, I was given a paper as to in which area, level, and row I could find the car in the parking lot, with the pre-printed standard Wheego area specifically crossed out and corrected by hand to a new one, while the car was in the crossed-out standard one, as I found out after 15 min of searching. I also never received a check-in report of the car, but immediately an invoice that labeled the deposit as a sum in payment. Plus, a note on the invoice in German Legalese, which luckily I read, required me, if I had to take it seriously, to declare and pay the German value added tax I was paying them, again to my home revenue; which is complete nonsense of course, as the service of providing a rental car is taxable in the country where it's provided. When by e-mail—in German, my mother tongue—I said so and objected to the deposit being called a sum payable, I got an answer only remotely in touch with what I had raised, compounding the sales tax nonsense even more. I then went on showing off that I have a legal background and had a full video of every angle of the car at pick-up and return. This prompted an answer that was a strange mixture of legal text blocks from the hard disk the agent possibly didn't fully grasp herself and a complaint that said I wasn't being constructive and that bordered on the abusive. In the light of what I read here, my guess is that the deposit's being returned to my credit card the very day of the car return has a lot to do with the fact that I had made it very clear that I would go to court in Germany over any funny ideas the company might have which so many users here complain about. So, basically, from the moment that cashing in my deposit took me by surprise to the moment I found it back on my credit card (twice "paying" the foreign-exchange rate that favors may bank rather than me), this was a high-adrenaline rental I am more than unlikely to repeat.

I booked a rental car with Wheego for three days in Alicante through Kayak.com and an agent: BSP-auto.com. The rate was very competitive, as is the case in Alicante, and the terms as communicated by the agent were clear: no additional insurance, full to full fuel policy. When picking picking up the car I was given two options, both different from what I booked: either 1) take additional insurance @ 120 euros, no deposit and full to full policy or 2) no additional insurance, 900 euro deposit and an additional 98 euro fuel charge (no F2F policy). Either way the rental was 100 euros more expensive then expected. When I brought this up, Wheego referred back to the agent BSP-auto.com. Unfortunately their 24/7 phone number did not answer on the 3 occasions I tried to call.

Rented a car from Wheego at Hamburg Airport mid of September.
I did take pictures of the outside of the car. What I unfortunately didn't do, was take pictures of the inside of the car.
When delivering the car, a scratch was found in the inner lower doorframe on the passangerside. During the rental periode I used that door only a couple of times to place a (soft) bag in the footwell area. Nevertheless I can't proove that it wasn't me who caused the damage.
I sent the requested report to the rental company shortly after the car was returned. Since then radio silence - I haven't received a confirmation that the report was received, I have not received any communication on next steps.. Of course, they are still keeping the 900€ for incidentals.
I tried calling them (always routed to the central customer service who can't help), sent numerous emais, but no response.
Guess next step is to get a lawyer involved.

Scam - I was charged more than the double by them because they said my driving license expiring in the next 3 months, my booking was going to end way before it expired. I found out later it was illegal.

Customer service from Sam was exceptional.
Collected us from Liverpool airport on time, hired a brand new car with less than 500 miles on clock from their offside office. Immaculate condition.
Travelled back to London & realised phone was left behind.
Sam went out if his way to return it via post as we were unable to collect.
Professional & very helpful.
I would not hesitate to recommend Wheego - good value for money.

ABSOLUTE SCAM!!!!
Arrived to be told we need to give an extra £1,600 deposit on credit card. Husband doesn’t have a limit on credit card over 1k so that option is out. They would not accept my credit card as security. Our only option is to pay an extra £200 fee on top of the booking fee or cancel the booking without any refund.
NONE of this was in terms & conditions when booking.
Advertised as being in the airport, we were made to walk aimlessly to long stay car park & collected in a car. Driven to an industrial estate and told we will need to pay for a taxi on our way home as they won’t be open after 6pm.
If you are thinking of renting a car from here DON’T!!! Worst rental company we have ever experienced and have been renting cars all over the world.
