Here at WGU, we believe that talent is universal—even if opportunity isn't. Higher education is the best way to bridge that gap, but traditional higher ed wasn't built for the realities facing many of today's students. So we created a university focused on expanding access to education around the country. We've innovated with students in mind, giving them the flexibility and freedom they need to succeed in today's workplace.

If you actually want to learn something, DO NOT go to this school. They pretty much just drop a textbook in front of you and tell you to figure it out. Out of all so-called "teachers" I had, only one of them actually cared about answering questions I had. The others just gave me some version of "look it up." It was an overall terrible and stressful experience, from which I feel like I did not learn anything. The only plus for this school is that it's cheap, but they obviously do not care at all about the students. I recommend you look somewhere else.

I have never been to a graduation that was enjoyable. I could see that a lot of strategic thought was set into our special moment. It is memorable and makes me want to continue my education where I need to be and that’s WGU. Thank you for a beautiful graduation. ✨

WGU puts significant attention and effort into each individual student. You're assigned a program mentor for the duration of your program who guides you through your educational journey and helps keep you accountable. They provide support, encouragement, and of course assists you in any way possible to help you succeed. I truly felt that WGU was committed to my success and went above and beyond to provide me the resources I needed to graduate. WGU also does an outstanding job at hosting their Alumni Celebration event and Commencement Ceremony. I had a truly memorable experience that brough me so much pride and joy. I would recommend WGU to anyone seeking to continue their educational and professional journey.

Because WGU is competency-based, I completed a two-year master's degree program in four and a half months. I worked my tail off, but it is doable. Because I did this, I only paid for one semester, which was so affordable! Every employee I encountered was friendly and went out of their way to help. I especially appreciated my enrollment counselor, program mentor, and primary professor.

WGU is a very complicated college of education when it comes to Praxis Exams, Licensure, and communication with licensing "specialists". Also, it can be VERY difficult to get in touch with people who work there. While the coursework is easy, I do think that for education, there are better options out there.

WGU offers flexible, affordable online degrees with a self-paced, competency-based model that works well for motivated learners. But the new proctoring service is frustrating and intrusive—definitely a step down.

At WGU programs are set up very user-friendly and easy to follow. Your program mentors are always your biggest fans and supporters. I was able to receive a bachelor degree in 14 months with no prior credits. I had so many personal life, setbacks and emergencies through throughout my studies, but with the ability to work at my own pace, I was able to work through any setbacks and also not miss any of my families important events. I begin my program in my mid 30s but did not feel overwhelmed starting a program after not being in school for so many years. If I’m able to do it, anyone can.

I am thankful for WGU and the opportunity to finish my degree. I work full time and was able to complete my degree in 1.5 years. I couldn't have done it this quickly anyplace else. I so appreciated my advisor and her help. She guided me and encouraged me the whole way through. After many years of putting off finishing - I completed it and graduated as the first generation of college graduates in my family.

I had a fantastic experience with WGU. Having built in support with a mentor made a huge difference in my success and being able to work at my pace and according to my schedule made things much more manageable and ultimately led to my success.

WGU worked with me to enable me to study at my pace - there were no penalties for completing early or progressing through my degree faster, no hidden fees at all - they made sure I met with my mentor almost weekly to track progress and helped me when I faced any challenges with skilled course intructors who could help me understand the material in my way - would definitely recommend

I completed 2 Masters Degrees while teaching in under a year. I loved being able to work at my pace and accelerate. WGU is affordable and I loved that terms started the first of every month. Felt great to not have to wait for a new semester to start and it provides you the ability to plan around your schedule. Every I communicated with was knowledgeable, helpful, and a pleasure to talk with. WGU is not for you if you need due dates to keep you motivated!

WGU was an amazing choice. I was able to do my work at my own pace. The courses were challenging and applicable to my teaching of mathematics. The textbooks were chosen well. Any instructor I reached out too was very helpful, and did all they could do to help. I was able to further my career with the knowledge I learned from WGU.

I would not recommend this school to anyone looking for real learning and support. The program is essentially self-taught, with little to no direct instruction available. The content is designed purely for passing tests rather than actually retaining knowledge. Proctored exams are inconvenient, adding unnecessary hassle to an already frustrating experience.
Communication from the school is disappointing, often pushing students to rush through courses without providing meaningful assistance. When reaching out to instructors for help, they are unpleasant and seem more interested in getting you off the phone than actually addressing concerns. Overall, this school feels more like an assembly line for test-taking than an institution that genuinely cares about student success.
Would not recommend.

WGU is a great school. The courses, the ability to manage yourself, and the completion pace are all on you.
The opportunity is the proctoring process. However, No degree, No company, No Process works so well that you want to do it every day for the rest of your life.
