They sent the wrong colour item
I bought a garden chair as a gift for…
I bought a garden chair as a gift for my wife, when the item arrived it had missing parts (nuts and bolts to be able to assemble the item) , the frame was half black and half grey (grey was ordered) and the frame was rusty.
I was offered a discount. I asked if that would also include sending the the correct colored section of frame or at least the fixings to put the item together. I was told that I would not be sent anything. I then asked for a refund, I was given an RMA number and asked to contact them when I was ready to arrange collection.
The following text was included in the email:
"Please note that the couriers only offer an all day collection service from 9-7 so someone will need to be available during those hours.
As the service is an all day and any time between 9-7 we are unable to book this unless you can confirm someone will be at the property during these hours.
The reason being is that we get charged a high premium for failed collections and we would have to pass this charge on to yourself should the issue arise that you are not in for the collection when the driver turns up.
Obviously we do not want you to incur any charges which is why we are adamant to make sure you confirm someone will be in before we arrange your collection.
Alternatively, we can arrange collection from another address if this is more suitable.
Please let me know so I can get this sorted for you ASAP.

Due to this I took some time (8 weeks) to be able to arrange a date to advise them I could be at home and to also find a replacement box large enough for the item to return it safely (the original box was too damaged when it was delivered and they sate "Please package the egg chair in suitable packaging".)
I have now been told that they will not accept a return, my issue with this is that at no point in any of the communication was I told I had a finite amount of time to have the item returned. If this had been stated to me as part of the email exchange then I would have made every effort to meet the timeline. By not telling me it feels like this was done on purpose and now I am told the company policy is that I had to return it within 30 days.
Not good customer service at all.
Communication is key, people need the full information to be able to act.
Please think twice before using this company if you may need to return the item.
