I'm using Webstudio for creating landing pages for my friends for free. I have a free license that is very generous btw, so my friends doesn't have to pay a single $ for the website itself.

The Webstudio builder tool is fast with a very good UX/DX. Everyone who have some HTML/CSS knowledge can start building stuff from scratch or using one of their templates.

Overall I'm happy with the package what I'm getting for my money (0$) and recommend for everyone who wants to build stunning websites fast.

To give you some background, I've been using Webflow for over 4 years & more recently started using Framer for smaller/simpler projects. But, I must admit I've been loving Webstudio since I got their Lifetime deal just less than 8 months ago.

The amount of progress the team has made in such a short span of time is commendable. So many Quality of life improvements over the last few months, and the fact Webstudio remains Open source is just another reason to not feel that you're locked into an ecosystem.

The Webstudio builder tool is relatively fast, and personally I feel that their UX is streamlined. Folks who have some background with HTML/CSS can feel right at home with the visual design approach. The publishing could be a little faster, but nonetheless I enjoy the no-bloat clean-code that is produced when the website is up and running on your domain. Did I mention, they offer one of the most generous free tiers in the industry? No reason not to give it a shot.

Excellent open source web builder. What you get for the cost beats the competition.

Great dedicated team, supportive community. You can go with one of their plans and always have the option to go self hosted later - thats what was crucial for me as Plan B - so you are never vendor locked. But I am pretty positive I will be happy to continue paying for a plan to have solid worldwide performance hosting - powered by edge servers. Superb future ahead - wishing the team all the best.

Easier than Webflow and open source so what's not to love. Just wish it had analytics without setting it up yourself. And maybe an automatic blog function.

Webstudio is great! (with flaws)

I've been using this --Open Source-- website builder for some time now. I've gathered some opinions here.

It's relatively fast and slick, however I always encounter errors while in the editor.

Publishing is fast... But not Webflow fast. It can take up to a minute which just slows everything down.

The community is amazing! No flaws there. Everyone's nice and welcoming.

The subscription model or Freemium model Webstudio uses is very generous with their free tier. They don't make you pay to embed code either.

You can add custom domains... FOR FREE! Never seen that but woohoo!

My conclusion is that it's a pretty complex web developement tool that I and many others use. It's fast but not blazing fast and I can encounter bugs. The people are awesome and it's really good for being free.

I've followed Webstudio and their growth for a year. At this pace, the progress the team keeps making will position Webstudio as a serious contender with the likes of Webflow or Framer. The fact that it's Open Source and that you will never be locked into the platform is a serious game-changer in today's SaaS world.

I'll keep supporting the tool as long as the team stays on track with their vision. Give it a try!

Webstudio is looking promising and a great contender to Webflow, however it is missing critical overlooked features that being: a Client side editor mode, Collaboration is one thing however we build websites for clients and they need a simple way to make edits to both CMS and static data easily, CSS variables are on their way soon which is great to hear and I hope we have have native file uploads in forms to help build and intergrate truley dynamic platforms and databases within Webstudio natively, these features alone would be the ultimate game changer.

Their platform, while young and lacking some features so far, is very promising and already incredible. It really is and is shaping even more to be an alternative to Webflow. However, the community support is not good. They offer community support in their Discord server, but from my experience, they've (employees of the company on the forum, who are the only ones who have ever answered me) simply ignored me when I misunderstood what their product offered. Only when I replied for a second time, saying I realized my mistake but would have preferred them to have pointed it out instead of ignoring me (leaving me to figure it out 2 weeks later), did they get back to me. They explained my error, but didn't acknowledge they completely ignored me. They offer more direct and consistent support to people who have experience like them, and aren't afraid to be blunt and unwelcoming to those they don't want to prioritize.

I think they are not used to speaking to people with a lesser experience, so if you are someone who isn't an experienced developer, I wouldn't try to speak with them because they aren't willing to branch out like that and provide credible community support. They will mention your "state of knowledge" while bluntly discouraging you from attempting to do the thing you are seeking their help with (rude people, really).

Not only do they categorize and tailor quality of support to their perception of your experience, but they are cold with anyone, regardless of how their perceive your intelligence and experience. I’m open to trying again with them, and Webstudio really is incredible, but at the moment, there is no support community/team for Webstudio I feel welcomed to talk to; the support community forum has discouraged me from following my dreams by not giving myself and others like myself the equal attention we need to learn and become more experienced (oh, and use their product).

Great open source tool that I'm using for my newly launch single person S corp! I needed a website for Stripe Atlas and this is doing the trick.

I haven’t created websites in many years and have never been able to program. I’ve always felt that if I made something, it was half-baked sites with poor code. Now that I need to deliver websites, I talked to someone who codes websites and he recommended Webstudio. Delivering 100% on Google Lighthouse time and time again and realizing my design in an easy way feels fantastic. What sets Webstudio apart the most is the team that develops it. I feel 100% confident in everything they deliver. You feel involved in the development, and the support is almost absurdly good. I highly recommend Webstudio.

Webstudio is a fantastic site builder with a very responsive small team ready to offer support. It's in very rapid development. Any issues that pop up are quickly addressed as it gains more functionality. It's such a delight to be able to build without a framework's opinions interrupting how I choose to implement site structure, styling, and scripting.

Here are the main reasons why Webstudio is my production web builder of choice:
1. Open-source: Transparent development on Github.
2. Experienced team: They have deep experience with web development and visual tools.
3. Rapid, well-reasoned development. There's a guiding vision based on a plan to stay profitable.
4. Hosted on Cloudfare: It's fast. Also, you can export to self-host (e.g., on Vercel and Netlify), which provides future-proofing.
5. Integrate with any CMS: Bind data and dynamically generate pages from Airtable, Hygraph, Notion, Strapi, WordPress, etc.
6. Great community: Active and helpful Discord forum lets you contribute to Webstudio's development.

Greate alternative to Webflow and easy to understand pricing plans 😀. The editor is so quick and intuitive, and a pleasure to use. Highly recommend.
