I had an early billing experience quickly resolved
I had an early billing experience, as well, and want to credit Tim and Voipo for quickly rectifying it - I have been with Voipo since 2013 and never had an issue before - and this one was handled quickly and I appreciate it. I have a lot of experience with retail customer service and saw good customer service in this instance and am thankful for it.

Same issue as others
Same issue as others, found that I was billed in July and September this year, w/out notice.
Ticket ID: FGI-932-86157
This would be the third time this year. The first time I was sent an invoice.
Cancelled the card today to keep it from happening again.

Customer Service is Poor. Charged Twice.
Low cost but customer service hold times are long, approx. over 20 mins, they charge twice when you sign up to catch the perfect customer sucker who will sign up and forget, be wary.

Repeatedly billed incorrectly
Add me to the list of customers who were repeatedly billed and ignored when a request for a refund was made. They claimed the same billing mistake in a ticket then proceeded to ignore me after I requested the money be returned to my account. It shouldn't take writing a review to get their attention!
Edit: My name is in the review.... Or look at ticket QRQ-355-40390.

Extra billing like others
Tim, if you get this update the case# is WVB-490-61734. 937-704-0004.
Like others, after renewing for another 2 years on Nov 5th in 2023 for $185 I was charge twice more for $185 on Jul 8th and Sep 20th of this year. I contacted support and got an email saying they would refund it, but no refund has been forthcoming. Posting here since it appears that the owner responds to these so I can avoid having to do chargebacks through my CC company.

VOIPO no longer a go-to company.
I've had VOIPO for several years without any real problems. Recently, they have begun billing (and charging my CC) for 2 year renewals ($185) every month! They have not responded to my emails and their phone support is always too busy to take a call. VIa a pre-recorded message they just ask you to call back later or email them (which doesn't get a response.)
Update: Timothy, as owner you should have access to support tickets. Look up XRS-967-74190 for all the information you need. (Still no response as of 08-OCT-2024)

Same multiple billing issues as others…
Same multiple billing issues as others here. I sent the owner an email, no response, so I've disputed the charges with my CC company. I really shouldn't have to do that - and given the obvious billing problems, the company needs to focus on a global fix, not playing whack-a-mole only in response to complaints. (And don't bother calling their 877 number - they're not answering it.) I've been with these guys for years and the service has been pretty decent, but I think it's time to look elsewhere. They've gone WAY downhill in some important areas.

2nd charge of $185.00 and no response to resolve ticket in 6 days. Sent an email which created yet another ticket. No calls seemed to be answered now.

FRAUDULENT Billing
VOIPO is Fraudulently charging it's customers. Check your financial statements! Since February of 2024, we've had 4 instances of unauthorized charges of $185 each. Have reached out to their customer service and have not heard back. We will be filling fraud claims on all unauthorized transactions this week. Looking at other reports online, it's clear that it is repeated and intentional fraudulent activity by VOIPO to rip off the consumer. All customers who have been defrauded by VOIPO should file claims with the Federal Trade Commission and the Commerce Department. It is also time to organize and file a group lawsuit against this company!
Update as of Oct. 18th. 2024: We were contacted by Timothy Dick and we have now received refunds on two of the unauthorized charges and have also received a check (which has now cleared) on a third unauthorized charge. The fourth unauthorized charge was used toward our next renewal. Mr. Dick apologized and stated that all four unauthorized were done by mistake.

Deceptive billing
Just like all of the other reviews here, I've been charged $185 every few months as "accidental" billings. How many people are not noticing these billings?
I've been a long-time customer, but...
Getting a refund is difficult at best. The service tickets seem to be managed by a generic help desk that has canned lines to feed customers.
I've reached out to the CEO via email, so hopefully he'll resolve it.
I highly recommend that after signing up for service, cancel your credit card numbers so they can't extra bill.

Tired of Double or Triple billing
I have been with them since cancelling AT&T several years back. Multiple times, they have double or triple charged me. I have to catch it and then it is hard to get the credit back. Or, I pay for the two years at $185 and then they charge me again the next year, both have happened. Recently, they charged me multiple times in a single year when I had just paid $185 for two years.
Then when I want to cancel service, they slow walk me, don't respond, etc.. Finally they respond, not to appologize and correct charges (couple of months later and they still haven't offered that) but to tell me I have to fill out a form to cancel service when their email says I can ask them to do it, which I already had. Then they say service can't be cancelled until I return the 10cent adapter that I have had for years.
System seems to work fine.
Customer service sucks.
Price is good until they start double or triple charging you - then it is a battle.

Long term customer overcharged then made good.
I have had Voipo for around 5 years (even when they went down for a few months) and liked the service, especially the log log which allows me to block telemarketers.
However, I paid for two years in Oct 2023 and was re-billed another $185 in May 2024 and another $185 in August 2024.
These "Billing mistakes" sound more like dishonest charging and with no attempt to refund the amounts.
Given this and other complaints I see here, would not recommend them anymore.
UPDATE: after this review. Tim (Voipo Owner) contacted me personally and refunded all overcharges to my credit card. This fast resolution was appreciated and I can now vouch for the concern given to the matter.

VOIPO long time customer, but may not any more
I have used VOIPO for long time. I noticed the renew of 2 years without authorization in June, 2024. I thought it's OK. Then, it happened again last week. I could not stand that any more. I requested both refund and disputed the June one with my credit card. They refunded the June one right the way and ignore the August charge. Now, I'm going to go after the August one and re-evaluate this company.

Really Happy but had 2 unauthorized renewals in < 90 days...
I have been a VOIPO customer since approximately 2011, and I am very happy with the reliability and responsiveness of VOIPO including the time that I factory reset my newly replaced grandstream device after a hardware failure. They also converted a one year renewal to their standard two year offer after I requested per their email offers.
Support was very gracious in explaining what I did wrong at the time and had me fixed in very short order.
*UPDATE:* My concern _Below_ was resolved quickly; Thanks, Tim / Voipo. ;^)
Last week, a problem occurred when I noticed a third 2-year ($185.00) renewal charge extending my service out to 2029. (This also happened on June 7 of this year) and as mentioned on August 12th of this month. I did not request these renewals - my service was previously paid through 2025. I didn't bother disputing or complaining about the first surprise renewal in June --even though it was unauthorized, however someone at VOIPO just extended an additional two years bringing my service out to 2029.
This was a bit too much for me to accept. I called my credit card company and after a few conversations with customer service and fraud departments, they have declared it as a fraudulent transaction and asked me to give VOIPO 48 hours to fix this.
Tim - I love your service and responiveness on this forum: Please fix this ?

Bad Customer Service & Policy
Bad Customer Service & Policy
I called them today to inquire about their service, turns out the information provided to me on the first call was incorrect so I was glad I called back a second time to validate.
1) "We care about you" is a hollow statement as they really don't!
2) "30 days money back guarantee" is also not true if you are porting your number. Your service starts the minute you order and charged BEFORE you get your equipment and includes the time you ship the equipment back at your cost. So between their shipping their equipment to you and you sending it back, that potentially can take a week to 10 days depending on who you use to ship at your cost. Then, if you are porting your number over, you won't really know until your current provider releases your number and they have no incentive to do that quickly. Between the shipping time and the time your current provider releases your number, your 30 days is up.
So right there is a huge red flag for me and I decided to not sign up on top of all the bad reviews I'm reading here and they are recent reviews!

Crappy Service
I’ve been a customer with VOIPo for the last 10 years, and while the service was decent in the first few years, this past year the company has severely gone downhill.
Just as other reviews mentioned, I was automatically billed for renewals without my approval; even though I’m paid several years in advance. This happened twice this year!! The response from VOIPo was this was an error that affected a “small batch”. Then when I requested a refund and it did not post within a few days, the response was this could take 10 days due to a “high volume” of request. So, what was it...a small batch or high volume? And why did this happen twice? Why didn’t the company notify me of the error? It seems the company was being dishonest and hoping I would not notice the charges on my credit card and then did not want to credit me back.
Also this year, I started receiving multiple random phones calls daily. These were not telemarketers or scammers, but people trying to call another number. The call log on VOIPo even showed that these calls were not to my number, but another unknown number. The calls that left messages was from a guy in Washington DC locked out of his apartment, a lady leaving a message for her friend in New York, an elderly lady looking for her daughter in Ohio. The initial response from VOIPo was just block all incoming calls and “sorry for the inconvenience”. It seemed VOIPo did not care about the problem I was having.
Even though I’m paid several years in advance, I’m now looking for other options. The attitude I have received from VOIPo on my problems is unacceptable of any company.
Steer clear of VOIPo, it’s become nothing but problems.

Corrupt Company.
Voipo is a total mess of a phone service. We have been with them for many years. They constantly send E-Mails to extend your service even when you have extended it. When our credit card was about to expire, they let us know even though we were extended years ahead. Without our permission they billed us for 185.00. When I brought this to their attention, they said they would refund us but that was over a month ago. Someone needs to investigate this company and bring them to justice.

They double charge you and hope you don't notice
Be warned & check your credit card statements! They offer you the ability to renew in advance - but when you do that, they STILL charge you when your initial period ended. Basically, they charge you twice. And even if though I pointed this out to them and they promised to reverse their incorrect charge - weeks have gone by and they still have not done it. Sounds like a scam. Recommend you stay away.

Overcharged, no refund
Have 800 service at $36 a year paid annually. Now they are charging me very 3 mos. So far they've overcharged me $72. Messaged support to get the overcharges refunded. They said takes up to 7 days. Its been over 2 weeks and no refund. Wrote to support again to cancel service. In checking for their response I discover they erased all the support tickets going back to 2019!! This company is a scam. I will be reporting them to the appropriate govt agencies.

Service was fine, customer support horrible
Service was fine, some international calling issues over the past few years. Fraudulent billing is an issue. We are canceling our service due to a lack of response in correcting their billing errors. They have billed one year after a two-year billing cycle and are billing twice in the same year. No response other than to "extend" our contract. Terrible customer service. The only way to contact them is via their service desk email, no phones are answered.
