Voipo stole my cash

Just before Voipo abruptly got out of business, without any warning, they repeatedly charged me multiple times for renew subscriptions, without my authorization.

So I advised them of the situation, but they took note of the situation, but they didn't take any further action. So in fact, they stole my money.

So to all of you honest customers, please pay very close attention to all the actions that takes place in your account,

Therefore, I want all of you sincere customers to closely monitor everything that happens in your account and turn off any automatic renewal subscriptions.

sadly Ive too been victim of over charges. Voipo has over charged my account about $1600. Sadly I didnt check my bank as all my payments are on auto pay. I only found out about the fraud recently as I googled information trying to contact Voipo becuase they werent answering and I needed a PIN to port over my numbers to a different carrier. I saw all the complains got a gut feeling I might be a victim too. Sure enough, I go back thru my bank statements and they overcharged me approx $1600. Someone needs to be in jail. I have a feeling there are THOUSANDS of VOIPO VICTIMS

Complaint Regarding Unfair Business Practices by voipo.com

voipo.com repeatedly charged my credit card without my authorization—this occurred two years in a row, sometimes more than once in a year. Each time, I was forced to spend time tracking down a refund, which was inconsistently provided. On several occasions, instead of refunding my money, voipo.com offered only to apply a credit toward future service.

In March 2025, I was charged again without authorization and despite multiple attempts from March through August 2025, I was unable to obtain a refund. Shortly thereafter, the company ceased operations entirely. Given the timing and the widespread likelihood that many customers experienced the same treatment, it raises the concern that this may have been part of a deliberate business plan: collecting prepaid funds from customers before shutting down, then deflecting responsibility by claiming refund issues with credit card processors.

This constitutes unfair and potentially deceptive business practices. Because of this, I strongly recommend that voipo.com’s referral to voip.ms for porting migration not be relied upon. Customers deserve to know that similar unfair practices may occur, particularly if there is any ongoing business or ownership relationship between voipo.com and voip.ms.

VOIPO Rip Off

I had VOIPO service for several years and have been far less than impressed. There has been no customer service during their outages. You had to rely on sending an email for support. If you were lucky, you might get a generic email response. No matter what the problem was, the stock response was "unplug all your devices.". This worked once in ten years. Now, all of the VOIPO customers have received an email giving them six to eight days to find another provider because there complaints against them and their credit card processing rating is evidently so bad that they have lost their accreditation as a company. How they have done this? A couple weeks ago they were l still asking for payments a year or more in advance and probably and pushing online sales pitches while their finances we're tanking. This is, at best, border line criminal, and certainly total incompetence. I have sent multiple emails about a refund for services that will never be rendered and I get no response. No response?! That says it all.

Fraudulent

For years I tolerated VOIP poor service because its price was attractive. Recently, VOIPO kept sending out emails inviting customers to pre-purchase their future services. These emails continued coming until late in July. Then abruptly on August 1, VOIPO announced that it will cease service immediately, and that the customers should seek service elsewhere. Then, VOIPO stopped service, and stopped responding to emails.

As things are, I am paid up until the end of 2029. Clearly, that was not one of my smartest decisions. VOIPO now owes me $410 in services or in refund.

Last year VOIPO charged my credit…

Last year VOIPO charged my credit without my authorization. After my request, they refunded.
But, they did again this year: charged its services to 2029...
Now it is ceasing business. That is criminal activity!

Poor customer service

Poor customer service; poor phone quality etc. Everything poor. Lines were down for two days recently and luckily I found another company and started porting my phone number. It should be done 8/4/25.
Like most, I did not receive any notification that Voipo was going out of business. I just happened across it when I tried to log on to the website. Porting may not be possible for some customers with such short notice.
However, when the phones were down recently, I did speak with someone at the California PUC. They will try and assist anyone with problems with Voipo. We may not all be totally screwed.

Suddenly shutting down leaving those who paid ahead out their money.

After putting up with being billed awhile back for over $900 that they did finally refund after months, I suddenly get an email with 6 days notice that they are going out of business. I'm paid ahead for over two years and just got another email the other day telling me can sign up for longer for less money. Should have known - this is totally criminal!

Company is closing down with 9 days…

Company is closing down with 9 days notice. Preferred porting carrier is voip.ms which has sketchy reviews here. They auto-billed for two years even though I had pre-paid to two years already. Finally credit card companies pulled funds back and they are closing because the credit card processor has cut them off. No surprise. Now I can't get a porting PIN and they block porting without it.

Criminals

they were great for years but now it is a mess, I escaped and took my numbers with me. cancel your credit or debit card or they will try to hammer it...I closed my bank account to be on safe side and opened a new account. they only got me for a extra 36 bucks by double billing me i feel lucky compared to some of you folks...here is a email i just sent them.I do not have any numbers with you anymore...I ported them away from you because the voipo company has been hacked by criminals and they are hitting all of your customers bank accounts....I had to cancel my bank account with you because of this....read the current reviews on google reviews it is a very well known problem.... I can not see Voipo staying in business much longer...yes cancel any numbers or accounts you think you have with me...which is zero...and you owe me $36 for over charging my bank account which you can send to me If I do not receive my refund within 30 days of this email I will report you to the attorney general and the fcc and the ftc...I am considering starting a class action lawsuit against Voipo for the security breach.

Stay away

2 years ago, they charged me twice for renew subscription that I didn't ask for. took 2 months to get refunds. This March, they did the same thing. It's been over 4 months, 2 customer service tickets, and even a direct inquiry to the CEO Timothy D, and still have not gotten a refund. No communication from them at all. Every time I try contacting Support, I keep getting told Billing will handle it when they get through their queue. It doesn't take over 4 months to get a refund. They stole my money, it looks like.

The company's web site went down weeks…

The company's web site went down weeks ago and I lost phone service. I have made numinous attempts to contact them without result. They will not answer emails or phone calls. When I attempt to call them, they will put me on forever hold. I noticed that they have my IP address and know why I am calling and that is the reason they keep me on hold and never answer. They have my money, and I have nothing from them. I had to pay another VOIP service because I needed a phone. I will call the Better Business Buerer in California and file a complaint. Stay away, far away from this company.

VOIPo is BROKE!!! Don't deal with them

VOIPo took my money for a 2 year signup, with an automated message that said an account login detail would be forwarded. Nothing has arrived. 4 emails to customer service are unanswered. The company is based in Lake Forest, CA and calls are immediately disconnected --not answered. This company has gone busted. Do not buy anything from it unless you have money to throw away

The are a scum company

The are a scum company. They used to be good, but several years ago they started engaging in scammy practices. They charged me for renewal without permission 4 times. The first time, I thought it was a genuine mistake and I just accepted the 2 year renewal because I figured I would have renewed anyway in a year. But then they did it again. I contacted them and they never acted on it. I had to do a chargeback with my credit card company. Then they did it again!!! Again, I had to do a chargeback with my credit card company. Now, with one year to go for phone service, they have done something to stop incoming and outgoing calls. I was going to cancel my service once the renewal was coming up, but screw this scamming company. It's not worth trying to fight this. I am notifying them I an cancelling immediately.

Never answer calls They just keep you on the phone until you hang up. They use to be good. I could never get a customer service agent to help me pay a small monthly fee. SEVEN Unauthorized Charges

Another customer that was billed SEVEN additional times ($185/each) for a total of $1,295 in 2024. Two of those charges came in a single month. I only noticed it when my original 2 year term was nearing it's end and I logged in to renew--that's when I saw all those invoices. I opened a ticket, they apologized and said they forwarded my case to billing. After not hearing anything I emailed billing directly with my case number and still haven't heard back. The charges should be reversed the same day--it's not hard to verify the overcharges. I'm furious because I'm going to have to cancel my credit card and update all of my auto pay providers. :(
