I am very pleased with the service and care I received from Vision Care. The results of my laser eye surgery are fantastic and I now don’t need to wear glasses after 25 years of use. Would highly recommend

Professional and caring from start to finish. Would highly recommend Mr Darcy, and the whole team, for anyone considering lens replacement surgery.

Where do I start? Mr Darcy and his team are quite simply……outstanding!

My wife and I had Lenticular Extraction (SMILE) back in early October 2025, x3 months later we both have better than 20/20 and could not be happier with the outcome.

I can quite honestly say that the Vision Care Team are the best in the country.
I had been wearing glasses for distance vision since I was in my mid-teens, now in my late 30’s it has been one of the best decisions I have ever made. I also work in aviation, so the relief of not having to wear glasses with a headset on is something than many people don’t realise is quite cumbersome, no long will I need to see the Alps through glasses!

If any of the Vision Care Team are reading this please know……. ‘YOU ARE SIMPLY THE BEST’ (As Tina Turner once said).
From Day 1 you are treated as a person and not a ‘number’.
I want to give particular thanks to; The big man himself - Mr K Darcy, Emily, Olivia, Cheryl, Linda, Nancy and Dan ……. There are others of course - but these are the ones we had specific contact with.

They are all first and foremost; professional, calm and more importantly ‘human’. You won’t regret it.

Had the surgery. Vision now better than 20/20.

I've heard some places do insufficient tests before surgery and leave the patient with avoidable issues, but thankfully with these lot they walk you into a room with like 6 different machines to check your eyes thoroughly.

For me, they delayed my surgery by like 60 days because the tests revealed my meibomian glands were blocked. They showed me how to fix it, and eventually I got the surgery.

Everyone there was friendly and incredibly accommodating, Nancy was my favourite.

Would definitely recommend them, wish their car park was bigger though lol

I started looking into lens replacement as at 52 my eyes would no longer tolerate contact lenses & I had constant dry eyes from them . my experience of vision care has been first class. every member of staff from the initial contact to my 12 week discharge has been friendly, helpful & professional. Having needed glasses since the age of 11 and a contact lens wearer for the last 23 years my lens replacement has been life changing with no need for glasses for anything-
my opticians recommended Mr Darcy as the best surgeon I would meet for this procedure but it took me a few months to pluck up the courage following the initial Tests. if I could have had the surgery the day of the tests I would have, as Mr Darcy was really reassuring & honest about outcomes, the tests are incredibly reassuring & thorough so you know everything has been checked. it was reading all the information after the appointment that made me hesitate. on the day of the surgery at Cardiff all the team were very caring & answered any question I had. Mr Darcy explained every step of the operation as it happpened & there was no discomfort it is just is a strange experience! there is a course of drops - lots & lots of drops - in the first few weeks but even within hours of the operation I could not believe the result it was way beyond my expectations - I was reading small print in 48hrs and the afternoon of the op I could see distance really well. my colours were a bit off for a few days but I had no discomfort or side effects. to me my vision is incredible I have better than 20/20 but I do have a slight prescription in one eye & have been offered laser to correct this if I felt I wanted to in the future but currently I am 100% delighted with the result & recommend Mr Darcy & his team to anyone considering this procedure

The operation went so smoothly and quickly I did not realize it had been done! The aftercare was superb: several appointments with detailed tests and photographs. The result was even better than I expected. I now do not need glasses and my vision is excellent. The staff are friendly, the presiding surgeon is first class and supported by a very able team of opticians.

The whole process was clear and professionally carried out on all levels from start to finish. The final result re vision improvements exceeded expectations

Incredibly positive life changing surgery - With a great team from Kieren, Magda, Linda, Caroline, Cheryl and all others. Having had Keratoconus in both the left and right eyes and having worn special contact lens, with eyesight slowly becoming poorer and attending the eye hospital in Bristol for over 10 years. I reached out to the team at Vision Care Clinic and had the laser surgery to improve the shape of the cornea (ultimately in both eyes), which was a little scary, but Kieren and the team gave me great confidence that it would go well. It did. I then had replacement lens in both eyes (as had cataracts). My vision now is so good (20/20) that i do not need lens or spectacles. It has been truly one of the best decisions of my life. I would have no hesitation in recommending Kieren and the team.

I went to Vision Care on a recommendation from a friend .
Since last year I had been suffering from Recurrent Corneal Erosions.
My local hospital were at a loss of how to treat me as I had a genetic disorder associated to this condition which was as a result of Dry Eye Syndrome .
As soon as I saw Keiren Darcy he knew immediately what the issue was and started treatment .
In January 25 I underwent a procedure called PTK , phototherapeutic keratectomy .
It was a quick and painless procedure using laser technology .
I have to say it was uncomfortable in recovery for a few days but Keiren and his team explained this to me .
I followed my post op meds to the letter and I am totally pain free and I have my sight restored .
Keiren you have a very special gift and I cannot thank you enough for my care and your professionalism .
I would also say a huge thank you to Emily who held my hand throughout .
To Linda , Cheryl , Magda , Ruth and Nancy you are all brilliant and your kindness and empathy to me as a patient has been second to none .

I was keen to reduce my reliance on reading glasses and consulted with Kieran Darcy on my options. After assessing my particular situation, including dry eyes, strong far-sightedness in one eye that we didn't want to compromise, and other considerations, he recommended a lens replacement in one eye. His professionalism and clear medical rationale for this option provided me with the confidence I needed to proceed. After a short surgery and easy recovery, I can now read even very small print without glasses. I'm so pleased! The whole team, including Nancie who performed my follow up visits, are wonderful. My introductory meeting with the surgeon immediately turned into an appointment for significant eye surgery. Through this rapid journey I have built considerable trust in my surgeon and the team around him. I did have some post Op complications but these have been resolved effectively. Having moved from an eye surgeon who I had been seeing for over twenty years, the change was a big deal for me, however, I feel I have found a new home for my glaucoma care. There is a friendly reassuring and efficient service of care

I had laser surgery with Kieran Darcy and was subsequently looked after by lovely Magda. The whole team were so professional, kind and caring, particularly Magda and Linda. It turns out that I have a genetic eye condition I didn’t know about prior to surgery which means that my eyes take way longer to heal than most. I was concerned that my vision hadn’t corrected after surgery but the team held onto me for a year patiently checking me every month to begin with then every few months, and sure enough, my vision corrected without the need for further surgery as they predicted. They were just great and another notable thing to me was that they didn’t keep charging me for every follow up visit which is a big deal to me as this is unlike a recent experience with a thoracic surgeon I’ve had surgery with, who charged for every additional appointment even when he made a surgical error, it leaves a bad feeling with patients. So the Vision Care Clinic are really superb and I would highly recommend them for any eye problems of for sight correction surgery.
