We took a Virgin Cruise this December…
We took a Virgin Cruise this December for our birthdays as we do every year. But Virgin is completely overrated and overpriced. I call this ships the IKEA ships. Very hard chairs and beds. Hot tubs with no jets. Shows very low quality. Bad drinks, Party crowds and lots of drinking. No buffet so you will have lines to get any food in the main area specially for breakfast. Crowded. The food is good but that is all but small portions and they don’t care much about giving you more is like they want to save every where. Cheap decor and cheap quality drinks. Maybe a good cruise for young party people but not for someone that expects quality and great service. Very disappointed.
No Stars for Virgin Voyages
We have a history of cruising aboard Princess, NCL, other cruise lines, and Virgin was the worst by far. Ikea grade furniture throughout the ship. Public spaces furniture was falling apart. Staff in public spaces was very uncourteous and on their cell phones constantly. not enough Bathrooms and only at the Fore and Aft of the ship. I could go on and on ... But even if the cruise was offered for free I would pass.
No KIDS is the WIN
The one thing that stands out and is most beneficial with Virgin is the ADULT ONLY concept! They have nailed this and it's amazing. We enjoyed our trip but there are few things missing when you compare to the other cruise lines like more shows, more food variety in the galley, the taco stand staying open. Our favorite restaurants were Pink Agave and Korean BBQ restaurant! Phenomenal. The bartender Dania was our favorite and the the servers in the restaurants were very nice. I fell unfortunately on the wood floor in The Wake and went to medical center and the doctor was very short, not courteous and kind of rude which was unfortunate as a representation of the cruise line and his bed side manner with me was less than comforting and almost as if he didn't believe the pain i was in. It was a put off for my husband and I both. Outside of this, we did enjoy our trip with no kids, the ship was nice, rooms decent, food decent and we would return for that reason but Virgin would not be our first choice cruising if we were looking for more variety.
INDUSTRY DISRUPTORS? YES PLEASE!
If you're not having a good time on a Virgin cruise - you're doing it wrong. Forget what you know about cruising and enjoy this new interpretation of fun at sea. Eclectic food choices, cutting edge entertainment, tech infused cabins and - most of all - socially responsible. It is go with the flow on a Virgin Cruise. My only fear is that the competitive industry will induce Virgin to sacrifice some of its prime features. They've already doubled back on their 'no tipping' policy and their 'disembark at your leisure' system. What's next? Kids? Premium dining? All Virgin's lady ships are similar, so book the one that best suits you. It costs a bit more but I found it was worth it for a unique experience. After 50 years of cruising, I decline to iterate the small challenges that come with travel and recommend giving something new (now not so much!) a try.
Great Food. Loyalty/Issues not important
his was our third Virgin for 2025 (six total cruises for for the year). The food/dining (as well as adults only) was great, and what drew us back. However, recent changes to loyalty program and the commitment of what was not impacted for pre-booked travel prior to that change (trying to deal with what was effected on board for pre-booked), will make this our last Virgin Cruise. Minor thing for most, but major for us (especially due to remote work). The desire to resolve issues onboard are always (as with second cruise) deferred to "corporate" for something that was committed for all cruises that were pre-booked was not acceptable to, and inferring I was not being truthful about the previous cruises (telling me I had upgraded wifi previously, when I didn't) really impacted me. I knew the next time I would have to upgrade internet (due to their change), but not for this one. I even chatted online reservations two weeks prior to ensure I understood the communication. Again, understand this is not major for most, but it is for us (as often as we cruise). I know for this issue (I also had another one related to loyalty level, but they don't care of that) could have been easily resolved paying the $210 to upgrade internet, but it was the principal. For that reason, we will not travel Virgin again.
Just i can say an Amazing trip
Just i can say an Amazing trip, the crew, the quality of the food is top, the ship is great, we will back again soon, and the price is fair too.
Virgin Voyages Perfect Cruise
Cabin, service, food, friendliness, entertainment, itinerary, cleanliness, value. Everything exceeded out expectations.
Virgin Voyages Cruise Experience
This cruise is an amazing cruise and my second in 2 years. The majority of passengers are open-minded, accepting, and genuinely nice people. You have people from all walks of life and the world that are on the cruise to have fun and meet people. The cruise is very LGBTQ, couples, family, and everything in-between friendly. The dining, nightlife, island excursions, etc. are all spectacular. There is little to no conflict, fights, etc. on these cruises also. If you are an open-minded person who is looking to relax and have fun, this is the cruise for you.
Great ship
Great ship, great food, shore excursions were terrible , loads of queuing, very expensive and low quality . Avoid them do your own thing.

More options, time to book restaurants especially for those that work. Lucky Brian was able to accommodate
Korean BBQ restaurant was so fun and entertaining, nice way to meet other people
Please add chicken breast instead of only chicken thighs for your chicken source
Yarnell was so high energy and interesting
Crew was polite, friendly, and service oriented
This was a great pre-cruise for our first experience
Second and Last Voyage with Virgin Voyages
I really wanted to like this cruise, but it was a total letdown. Here’s why:
* Wi-Fi: Terrible. Slow and unreliable, like stepping back in time.
* App: Clunky and frustrating to use, like an escape room with no exit.
* Shore Excursions: Overpriced and not worth the money.
* Gift Shop: Charged double what you'd pay on land for the same stuff.
* Food: Major disappointment. Bland and underwhelming, even at the specialty restaurants.
The only positive? No kids. But that’s not enough to make up for everything else.
Virgin Voyages trades style for substance. Lesson learned. 🚢✌️
Zero disease control
The food and cabin room are ok, but the biggest issue is that the cruise has zero control on disease (e.g flu and cold) spread. There was a health check on their APP at the very beginning, but it was totally meaningless, as it was just self report. As the trip progressed, more and more passengers started to cough and sneez. No measurement was taken to stop this situation.
We started to show symptoms of flu on Day4 (headache, fever, loss of appetite, fatigue, etc). It ruined everything and made this trip a disaster. We are still suffering from it until today.
Also, the disembarkation was terrible. It was not smooth at all. And there was no efficient transportation to send people to a place where they can easily get a taxi. We ended up spending 2 hours waiting for someone pick us up. Will never choose virgin voyage again.
The staff were very useless
The staff were very useless. They did not seem interested in helping the customers. The drinks were overpriced and food was horrible. The entertainment catered to one group of people. The seats in the smoking area were hard and uncomfortable. The casino was designed for people to lose their money. I spent over $500 and nothing hit. I wanted love this cruise based on previous reviews. But it was difficult trying to entertain yourself with game board and video games for 7 days.
Virgin is the way to go
Virgin is the way to go! No kids! Boarding and disembarking was surprisingly organized and expedient. Lots of options for food and entertainment and service was first class. All of the restaurants had a laid back/fine dining combo which was a really nice. The excursions booked through Virgin ensured a good time and made sure you were back to board in time (only wish they left a little more time to walk around port - but that's a minor thing). Snorkeling in St. Thomas was the pinnacle of our trip and we highly recommend it. Staff goes over and above for you and you chat with them every day - it was like seeing a friend every day. Deck top with the pool was awesome and just the experience of walking around was a delight. We highly recommend Virgin for a lovely get away. I can't wait for our next trip!
Our favorite way to vacation
Our favorite way to vacation. Relaxed itinerary, great staff, food choices, shows and all and all a wonderful experience.
Christmas Cruise 2025
I love sailing on Virgin voyages. I went for the week before Christmas and came back on Christmas Eve last week 12/19/25-12/24/2025. It was my mom's first time on Virgin and she loved the cruise. This would have been my third cruise with Virgin Voyages. I'm looking to schedule another. The only thing that I can say about this cruise, that could be better is that when I used my debit card, I was told that the transactions would not be released on my card until the final day on 12/24/25, which was not true. I charged a couple of $100 to the casino, and my transactions were immediately taken out of my bank. Then, about 3 days after the cruise. I had some more transactions come out. The last day of my cruise, my full amount came out. Now, I have a pending $300 since 12/26/2025 in my checking account right now after the initial amount was taken out on 12/24/2025. It's 12/29/25 and the $300 is still pending.
Extremely poor experience before we’ve even boarded!
We booked a Virgin Voyages cruise to celebrate our anniversary and, unfortunately, the experience has been terrible — and we haven’t even been on the cruise yet.
From the outset, the Virgin Voyages app has been extremely difficult to use. It is hard to navigate, regularly gets stuck on screens, and offers no clear or accessible way to ask for help. On top of this, it appears to suffer from frequent technical glitches. One such “glitch” resulted in our on-shore excursions being cancelled without notice. My wife cannot even log in using her own account, as the app claims it doesn’t exist. She can only access the booking using the reference number and date of birth. Overall, the app is not user-friendly and feels unreliable.
The main reason for this poor review relates to a beach club bed we booked — an excursion with extremely limited availability. We booked this over a month ago, as soon as shore excursions went live. At the time of booking, we received an on-screen confirmation, and the second sailor also received confirmation in their app showing the shore things had been successfully booked.
Due to both of us undergoing surgery, we were unable to regularly check the app or bank statements. When we checked again recently, we discovered that all four shore excursions had been cancelled. We received no emails, notifications, or warnings about these cancellations. We were able to rebook three of them, but the beach club bed — the most important one — is now sold out.
When I contacted customer support via live chat, I was repeatedly told this was due to a “technical glitch” and that nothing could be done because the excursion is now sold out. I was also made to feel as though this was my fault because I did not have email confirmations — despite having cancellation confirmations. I tried to explain that something cannot be cancelled if it was never booked in the first place, but this point was dismissed. I was told that because no refund is pending, it must never have been booked, which directly contradicts the cancellation records shown in the app.
This is extremely poor customer service. We have spent thousands of pounds on this cruise for a special anniversary and chose Virgin Voyages for our very first cruise because of their strong online reputation. Instead, we feel pushed aside and unsupported when something clearly went wrong on their end.
If a payment fails, a system glitch occurs, or an excursion is oversold, customers should receive immediate and clear communication — especially when bookings are cancelled. That did not happen here.
My advice to anyone booking with Virgin Voyages: screenshot and save confirmations for absolutely everything, because if something goes wrong, you may be left without support or accountability.
This has been a hugely disappointing experience and has already overshadowed what should have been a memorable anniversary trip.
Repeated Marijuana Smoking and Drug Policy Violations
I chose Virgin Voyages expecting an adults-only experience where onboard rules—especially those affecting other guests—are consistently enforced. Unfortunately, that has not been our experience.
Throughout this trip, our neighboring cabin has repeatedly smoked weed on their terrace. The smell consistently drifts into our cabin and surrounding outdoor areas, making it impossible for us to enjoy our own terrace or even keep the balcony door open to get fresh air and a breeze. This has significantly impacted our comfort and our ability to use the cabin we paid for.
We have reported this issue to Sailor Services five separate times. While the guests in question deny smoking when approached, the smell remains persistent and unmistakable, and we have personally witnessed the behavior. Regardless of denial, the impact on neighboring cabins continues.
As I am writing this review, we are still onboard, and the same behavior is still happening. Despite multiple reports, no effective enforcement or resolution has been provided. As guests, we have been left feeling powerless while a clear policy violation continues to affect our stay in real time.
An adults-only cruise should not mean that rules are optional or unenforceable—especially when one guest’s behavior directly interferes with another guest’s ability to enjoy their private space. Being unable to use your terrace or ventilate your cabin due to ongoing policy violations is not acceptable on a premium cruise.
I wanted to love this experience, but the lack of accountability and guest support has overshadowed it. I sincerely hope Virgin Voyages reevaluates how it enforces its own rules, because without enforcement, those rules lose their meaning.
First time on a cruise as a passenger I…
First time on a cruise as a passenger I have worked on many cruises and I have to say Virgin for myself was incredible!
The staff were so friendly and helpful through the cruise! The way Virgin have done it is so quick and easy to embark and disembark from
The ship! The wrist bands are an amazing idea also. The rooms were great I stayed in a balcony room which has the hammock! It was great to sit in and watch the boat sail away! All the passengers were super friendly and up for a laugh and a party! The food was amazing!!!!!! The shows were fantastic! If I could give it more stars I would. Looking at booking another one now.
Sailor Services Review Only
Sailor Services Review Only
One of the poorest customer service experiences I had had the displeasure of dealing with.
Response time to emails is typically 10 days plus, lack of resolution, not answering questions, unable to clarify payment discrepancies, unwilling to issue refunds for cancelled services cancelled months ago. Now having to instruct my credit card company to reclaim the money.
Good job the cruises are better than Sailor Services.
