Great Experience on Virgin Voyages
Have been on 15 cruises--first time on Virgin Voyages--it definitely won't be my last! Loved the electronic bracelets that allowed access to everything--a definite improvement vs lanyards and ID cards used on other cruise lines. The food in every venue was delicious, and the crew was personable and professional. Didn't have to stand in long lines for anything, and the ship was immaculate. Loved that it was for adults only!
Great experience!
The cruise was beautiful! We had an amazing time on board. And the crew was awesome, the guys from entertainment are great! We loved the Diva!! Special mention to Dawid at the Spanish restaurant :)
We can’t wait to go back!
Service was awful
Service was awful, food was basically a food truck on the water bed was a futon. No value for what you pay here as you pay a premium.
Virgin Voyage have changed for the worse
Just returned from our second Virgin Voyage cruise. Disappointed is the nicest word I can use for this cruise. It all started before we got on the ship with a threatening letter that we owed $10 and if not paid in 24 hours, they may cancel – this was after we received notification we were paid in full. And, paid in full included the extra charge for tips we paid for – everything all included as Virgin Facebook ads boast even today is no longer true. Then, Virgin put us in the cabin from hell. We paid extra for an XL Sea Terrace. This room was in the bow of the ship – we had a steel wall balcony limiting our view, and our room was over the crew area used to dock and undock the ship – horrible noises from the hydraulic pumps, docking rope machines, and steel doors opening and closing under our feet. Not to mention crew chatter we could hear. It was way over and above the normal docking noises everyone hears on the ship when docking/undocking. This banging, clanking and hydraulic whines were right under our feet. The horrible noise would start as early as 4:30am. When we asked for help, Virgin customer service offered us a smaller room in a different area of the ship as the only alternative and with no offer to refund us the extra we paid for the XL cabin to a downgraded cabin they were offering. It was insulting. The CS was trying to save a dollar with this insulting offer, but this will cost them 10 fold as we will never come back. We were excited to book our second Virgin cruise, but as much as we enjoyed the first, we hated the second ever more. We are frequent cruisers, but this will be our last on Virgin.
Virgin is the best ever!
Just back from 11 nights in the Caribbean. Ports were Aruba, Ocho Rios, Cartagena & Grand Cayman. The whole cruise was fantastic! My only suggestion is that if weather won’t permit Scarlet Night to be outdoors PLEASE postpone for a night that will allow. Moving to Red Room is just not good and no one can really enjoy it. Way too crowded!
The staff was exceptional in every setting from the Galley, restaurants, bars, grounds too, and especially the cabin stewards. We had Lizzy on Brilliant Lady as our steward and she was amazing! Millie in Grounds Too also top notch! Artem in Extra Virgin was exceptional! Would have loved only 1 night in Cartagena and 2 in Grand Cayman since it was such a short port day. All the Social Club activities were great as was the Up With A Twist dinner show. The debark process was a bit of a cluster with having to clear customs but the Virgin team was cheerful and worked hard to get everyone through in orderly fashion. Hands down Virgin again has exceeded all expectations! LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!
Just not our cup of tea!
From start to finish everything we encountered, that was supposed to run smoothly, went wrong. Too many to address.
Room changed-last minute without notifying us. Took several attempts at sailor services to get explanation-BTW-Matt really tried to make things better, but unfortunately with all the technology we were forced to use, communication for our requests, was useless.
Food was way too spicy to be palatable (why couldn't a plain croissant be available at Razzle (Not) Dazzle instead of a Jalapeño cheese one? Just not a great experience, (there's too many things to say. but I'll run out of room)
Our trip with friends on Virgin
Our trip with friends on Virgin was perfect! Excellent food, great entertainment and our time at the spa exceeded our expectations! We’ll be back again for sure!
Virgin ship resilient lady avoid !!!!
Virgin ship resilient lady
Room 14229Z
Loud noise from above deck
Everywhere is a sales pitch
Korean bbq is awful
Acts are basic and slightly better than amateurs
Basically in uk it used to be called a 18-30 holiday
Although no kids it’s just as crackers with noises from older kids who have never been allowed out before with a grown up
Food is average at best
There is a thing in performance/ events that you use volume to make up for content and that’s what happens all over the ship they make it loud to give the impression it’s exciting oldest trick in the book
Some events they even charge for !! But they advertise as all inclusive , they basically try and charge you at every opportunity
It’s a slight of hand when they say £500 onboard credit , when you are in your cabin it’s then split between onboard sales stuff and bar so not quite what they elude to, as a non drinker it’s wasted on me ,as a drinker the amount is only half of the £500 sly really !
The talent is somewhere between local pub and karaoke except for the Mis behaving show , she at least had talent the rest were shockingly bad and some couldn’t even hold a note which really rubs the wrong way when you think of the cost of the trip
Would never recommend ever
Can't wait to do it again.
We loved everything about this cruise. In particular, the food was amazing at every venue. The ratings and comments are read and reacted to within twenty four hours. We're looking forward to our next Virgin Voyage.
Disappointing Entertainment Experience and Poor Communication
We have sailed with Virgin Voyages before and have consistently been strong ambassadors for the brand. One of the primary reasons we recommend Virgin to friends and clients is the entertainment. Virgin’s approach to cruise ship production has always felt innovative, modern, and refreshingly different from traditional cruise lines.
On this sailing, however, the entertainment experience was deeply disappointing.
We traveled with a group of 17 additional guests, many of whom work in the entertainment industry and were excited to experience the programming we had spoken so highly about. Unfortunately, the voyage was plagued with repeated entertainment scheduling issues that significantly impacted our experience.
Throughout the cruise, events appeared and disappeared from the app, conflicting information was provided by crew members, and in one instance multiple events were scheduled at the same time in the same venue. Two highly anticipated events, Persephone and Drag Bingo, were listed on the schedule later in the week and then removed entirely. Our group had planned our week around these offerings, and they were never rescheduled.
When we reached out to Sailor Services for clarification, we were given incorrect information about drag performances onboard. We were told there were no additional drag shows, only to later stumble into one already in progress at On the Rocks. Because we were unaware it was happening, we arrived mid-performance and were unable to find seating or even standing room without obstructing other guests.
Multiple crew members later shared that the disruption was related to a new cast rehearsing onboard. While we understand that entertainment transitions happen, rehearsals and cast changeovers are planned well in advance and should never meaningfully disrupt advertised guest programming without clear communication or some form of recovery.
This was not a weather cancellation or artist illness. It was a preventable internal issue that was compounded by poor communication and no meaningful service recovery.
The overall quantity of large production shows on this sailing also felt noticeably reduced compared to previous Virgin voyages. When the programming that did exist was further mishandled, it amplified the disappointment for our entire group.
Cruise ships are complex operations and we are generally very flexible travelers. However, what we experienced felt like a breakdown in coordination and guest communication that Virgin simply did not address.
We have long loved Virgin Voyages for its creativity, inclusivity, and bold entertainment programming. This sailing unfortunately did not reflect the standard we have experienced in the past, and we hope the company takes these issues seriously and works to ensure future voyages deliver on the brand promise that originally made Virgin stand out.
Best in class onboard, woefully lacking on land.
I hate having to do this. I’ve been lucky enough to sail with Virgin a couple of times and it has been incredible. Onboard, they’re the best cruise line by a country mile. This one star review is because of my frustrating experience communicating with them by email. I am locked out of my account. It doesn’t matter how many times I change my password, I am still locked out. I have been sending screenshots and detail back and forth for two months now. I wait days and weeks between emails only for them to lose my previous comms and the whole thing starts again.
I only want to find my sailor number so I can transfer a booking and sail with Virgin again. Why is it this difficult?!
The irony is that after every failed interaction, they send a glib customer satisfaction survey that is on a dead link that you can’t complete!
If you’re going to claim to do things differently, don’t translate that into worst in class customer service. I expect much, much better from Virgin and you have let me down very badly.
Truly disappointing.
Virgin Voyage the Best
The entire voyage was fabulous. The Food, The Service, The Entertainment, The DJs.
The Best Cruise Line.
Our First Virgin Voyage...Fantastic Experience
What a fantastic cruise! We'd never tried an adults-only experience before, and now we're officially Virgin Voyages sailors for life.
The ship was impeccably clean, safe, and well-maintained, with an incredibly attentive and friendly staff everywhere you turned. The food stood out above anything we've had on other cruises—freshly prepared to order, never that partially frozen, reheated stuff you often get elsewhere. Every meal felt special.
Our cabin was super comfortable, and we absolutely loved the hammock on the balcony—it became our favorite spot to relax and watch the sea.
Honestly, I can't find much to complain about. From the excellent restaurants and dining options to the fast Wi-Fi, super-quick elevators, and chill, relaxing atmosphere throughout the ship, everything hit the mark. We also enjoyed the free vintage arcade games and the packed schedule of daily events and fitness classes.
We've already booked our next sailing and are scrambling to squeeze in another one this summer. Highly recommend—Virgin Voyages is in a league of its own!
I don't have issues with the cruise…
I don't have issues with the cruise ship itself, but the processes of using a first mate and the customer service of VV leaves a lot to be desired. The experience onboard is fine, not amazing but it is still a good time. Food quality is subjective and for me, it isn't amazing. But that's not what keeps me coming back, however, after my most recent experience, the last few cruises booked with VV will probably be our last. We changed first mate from our last cruise because the company used was very poor. For the new company, all great, booked immediately as the customer service was fantastic, even assuring me if the cost of the cruise came down, they would call VV and get it sorted, either as a refund or as onboard credit.
When it came to it, the first mate changed the goal posts, and to cut a long story short I am down a good chunk of money and VV will not, cannot do anything about it. To me, it feels like the former. I was given misleading information and changed their stance on the whole assurances, and it reflects badly not only on the company I booked with but also VV. So disappointed with the whole situation.
A real mix
Liked: hammock on balcony, live music in small venues, food at Galley and Dock.
Didn’t like: food in restaurants (way oversalted to the point you couldn’t taste anything else), loud piped muzak almost everywhere in public areas.
Service: inconsistent. Would be concerned if this staff could handle any emergency situation.
Ship: Ikea meets Ibis Styles.
VV “brand” entertainment: Cheerleading squad mates with drama club.
This was my first cruise as well as my…
This was my first cruise as well as my children’s first cruise, my husband has crud many times, however not on virgin. Our experience was fantastic. We had a great time. The food was phenomenal. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The only downside I found was there washrooms weren’t clearly marked, also you have to close the lid in order to flush, which means you also have to open the lid every time you use it if there was a small handle on the top, it would be more hygienic than lifting from the toilet seat that somebody just sat on. I love the fact that it was adults only we had a very luxurious relaxing vacation.
Wanted to Love This Cruise, but Lost Trust (and My Property)
I’m genuinely disappointed to be leaving a negative review, because Virgin Voyages get so many things right. The ship, the crew, the food, the atmosphere — all of that lived up to expectations.
However, the lasting memory of my 11‑night cruise is that Virgin Voyages lost my drone. It was handed into the security team, exactly as required by their policy, and I was given a receipt. Yet at disembarkation, it simply wasn’t there. No explanation, no recovery, just “lost” — leaving me £500 out of pocket.
Regardless of how good the rest of the cruise was, being able to trust the security team with your belongings should be a basic expectation. When you follow the rules and hand over a valuable item in good faith, you shouldn’t end your holiday chasing a missing possession. It’s a sour note on what should have been a great experience.
Below Average
Below average in food, drinks, & service. Carpets around elevators spelled like urine on day one and got progressively worse as the trip went on; carpets all over the ship are in need of deep cleaning and/or replacement. The staff appears inexperienced in bartending, serving, and familiarity of the ship. Very disappointed with the overall experience, maybe a step up from Carnival, which is not a compliment.
Very bad customer service from booking dept
We have a cruise booked with 24 people for our wedding in Italy. We have sailed with Virgin 3 times before, 2 of which in Rockstar suites.
We have had nothing but issue after issue with their customer service team. You get a different answer every time you call! Noe we have asked to add a 3rd person to an existing room and after an hour and a half in the phone we have got a yes and we asked for an email confirmation which we got. Now we just called to book it and they are saying it can’t be done!
We have about 150k worth of combined bookings and we have booked the flights for this additional person and we are stuck with no room for them now.
Great when you’re on the ship but customer service is inconsistent and some of the worst I’ve ever seen!!!
Richard Branson you should be embarrassed!!
Virgin Virgins
Our recent honeymoon cruise was our very first cruise with Virgin Voyages on Brilliant Lady and it truly exceeded every expectation. From start to finish, it was an incredible experience and the perfect way to celebrate such a special occasion.
The food was absolutely outstanding. Every restaurant delivered not only amazing flavors but also a memorable dining experience. Even though I got a bit seasick on day three and the weather was slightly unseasonal at the start of the trip, it didn’t take away from what was ultimately an epic and unforgettable cruise.
What made the experience truly exceptional, though, was the crew. A special shout-out to Shinna and Rham at Pink Agave, Arcie at Test Kitchen, Javier at On the Rocks, and Febrian at Extra Virgin. Each of them went above and beyond to make our honeymoon feel extra special.
The two people who impressed us the most were Rishab, who we saw at The Manor but mostly at On the Rocks, and to Ton, our room attendant (cabin 14154A). Their warmth, attentiveness and genuine care made a lasting impression and truly elevated our entire experience.
If there’s one small suggestion for improvement, it would be for Hot Off The Press to introduce buzzers for orders to make the process even smoother.
Overall, we couldn’t have asked for a better cruise or honeymoon. We’ll absolutely be back!
