SIM card wasnt working on IPHONE 11 I thought it was due to location being set to LA I change Ip and location to my current being Dublin, Ireland to my surprise still not working. I call CS this is 2 weeks ago from today Mon 12th Jan 2 weeks later, 8 phone calls, 8 different agents, 2 cases and case numbers, a whole new SIM card which came within a day that was impressive and still not working was just told to wait another 24hours as the team is working on it after have been told that the team worked on it oñ Friday and that it should be usable and working by Monday shameful.
Worst Customer service going
The customer service is one of the worst I've ever experienced, it's really become the worst service from a company
Overpriced, terrible customer service, refuse to cancel
Do, not, choose Virgin. Ever. Overpriced, choppy broadband connection. Held a monopoly on our copper line for years.
When trying to cancel after switching to another provider (who provides 2x the speed by adding fiber to the house at 60% the monthly cost), had to wait in line for 30 minutes, only to be told they had account issues on their end and couldn't cancel my contract.
Seems like a white lie, and it's a complete waste of time for me. Their online complaints form is broken. Go figure.
EU Right to Cancel legislation is due in 5 months, and you can tell Virgin Media is just dragging their greedy feet as long as they can. Absolute horrible service. To cancel you need to call, go through 30 mins of IVR nonsense (asks for account number, and then the rep still asks for it. Why ask for it in the first place???).
I used to work as an ISP support rep in a different country and I don't envy their day to day jobs, but no one should be using Virgin Media, or working for them.
This company clearly has no real…
This company clearly has no real interest providing anything resembling what could be described as customer service. It just does not exist with Virgin. We lost TV coverage almost two months ago. Despite repeated attempts to get Virgin to engage and deal with the issue they have failed to respond repeatedly saying they will attend to deal with the fault and never turning up.
Don't sign up very bad
Signed up for fibre broadband in Nov and I think I've had it for a week since then keeps going off red light on router and then have to wait weeks for someone to call I've had same man out 3 times and got told its very sensitive try not to go near Box or wire 5 days later gone again which means no tv cause need broadband for tv to work so it's been a nightmare, not one call of support to say what problem is but plenty of texts about paying my bill
SCAM
My wife opened an account for broadband. Along with that they issued 2 extra sim cards which she never ordered or activated. Soon after, they started charging her for them and the activity on those 2 phone numbers. It was really a type of scam that we would never expect from them. Advice: stay away from Virgin Media. We definitely will.
Recording most things no longer possible
I don’t think it’s Virgin Media’s fault as I think it’s a licensing issue but it’s so frustrating that you cannot record most channels. This is a big part of why I pay for TV; it really makes me want to cancel it.
Absolute rip off
Absolute rip off, we are moving to Vodafone as got a much better deal. Customer service is non existent also, they double charged me and can’t get answers. Will never deal with virgin again.
Virgin Tec Team A Pure Joke
Unfortunately I'm forced to leave a 1 ⭐ if it was possible to leave a minus 50 ⭐ I definitely would, for the past two (2) months I've been in Spain, and I can't ring Irish landlines, all I get is invalid numbers, ie my doctor, hospital, bank solicitor etc, even though that's all covered in my Virgin bundle, I have complained almost every 3rd day for the past 2 months, on each occasion I'm I fed the same rubbish/lies reply, your complaint has been escalated and I'm given a Case number for me to follow it's progress in my account, yet when I log into my account it says no escalated cases and no complaints listed, When I queried this, the reply was, must be something wrong with the Virgin website?? That's obviously a pack of lies also, as there doesn't seem to have any issues with their website when it comes to showing my bills and activities etc. Virgin Ireland staff must think their loyal Irish customers are pure stupid by giving them the same brain dead useless answers on each occasion, is it any wonder Virgin have only a 1 ⭐ rating on Trust pilot, my honest opinion is and judging by my own personal experience in dealing with Virgin Ireland they wouldn't even have that 1 ⭐ as you can't leave a minus star rating in order to place a review, My advice to potential Virgin Ireland customers is do your homework first on who you finally choose as you're mobile provider ie customer reviews after sales service etc.
I find it extremely odd that that a senior member of the Virgin staff , haven't posted a response to me or all the other complaints on TripAdvisor re the appalling Virgin customer service, honestly they won't respond because they are indefensible, and basically giving my honest opinion of Virgin Ireland+their technical team, They Are As Useful As An Ashtray On Motorbike and I challenge any member of Virgin Ireland from the basic grade to senior management, to post a credible reply to my thread. So come on Virgin this is your opportunity to defend the indefensible, instead of taking people's money under false pretences,by not providing the service they signed up for.
Avoid VM at all costs
Avoid VM at all costs. Not only are they overpriced, their "customer service" is the worst I've ever experienced in my life. I got keys to our new home Dec 4th, advised VM of the move on Dec 2nd. Engineer came out to put in new box and cables 3wks ago. Today is Dec 30th and still no TV or Internet!! Had to stay on my mothers floor all Christmas with the kids as we couldn't move into the new home without TV & WIFI ( as I WFH) VM couldn't have cared less that because of them our Christmas plans were upended. All because some dope didn't put the correct modem number into their system, a ridiculous typo that should have been fixed wks ago!! Spoke to 16 people in total and nobody could have be bothered. Don't go near VM worst company ever to deal with.
NO TV FOR 30 DAYS…
My TV had stopped being able to tape anything. Rang virgin media 2 weeks later they sent out some dope who hadn't a clue. Had someone in 9 days later he got the box working but no picture on TV. Now they say it's an outside matter so another tech is needed. So far I've had no TV FOR 30 DAYS.NO TV OVER CHRISTMAS. I SO ANGRY. Always paid my bills on time & still you get treated like a stupid person. Very poor customer care. Actually terrible customer care
Had to choose another BB provider as…
Had to choose another BB provider as the waiting time for a technician was more than 10 days. Poor internet, constant connectivity disruption. Overpriced service. AVOID
Terrible!
The absolute worst Tecnical support I ever received! Left 10 days without tv after calling them around 10 times over the last 10 days and passed onto a different person each time where I had to go through the same rigmarole again and again. Its still not sorted . I requested to speak with a manager and was told it would be 9 to 10 days wait. Avoid by all means!
Avoid..
This company has got to be rated as the worst service provider I have ever had the misfortune to deal with...useless customer services...when you eventually get hold of someone...left them behind for overchargeing me...will never go back to them even if they cut there prices by half of any competitor...
VIrgin Media Ireland -
Paid for gigabyte of broadband, contract expiry date in mid January 2026.
Had few glitches over the months even though linked to Virgin Media hub and found sometimes on speed check I was getting less than half of gigabyte paid for. Sort of thing I pass over.
However, Funny/unfunny they offered me new packages, half the speed I was paying for already “nine months half price and three at full price!” in other words annual saving of €20 annually for new package offering less than half speed I was currently paying for….and not always getting.
Three times they tried to sign me up to a “50% offer” and three times I wrote looking for contract terms. Half what price?????
Regulatory and advertising watchdogs can do better surely. Moreso in any service which attracts public funding.
Only when I logged formal complaint did I get written response, stating that it was €80 a month with six months at half price, €40, ie my ‘exclusive’ offer was moving from €540 to €720. Pensioner now but haven’t forgotten how to do basic maths.
While waiting on this hard info on one-way email re my ‘exclusive’ deal I bypassed offers publicised by two other Irish broadband companies.
For a company in “communications” industry, Virgin Media does not seem to have a monitored email to deal with contract queries. In second quarter of 21st century surely that is minimum that should be there.
Again, at random and you can be lucky/unlucky tried their ‘customer’ line and had to give up waiting. Surely regulator needs to say on behalf of customers that such ‘on hold’ lines should be more specific, you are 20,30,40,50 in line and/or expected waiting time is guesstimated.
My overall observation is no great effort to retain customers in most Irish broadband service suppliers except to pump profits.
Media, especially State funded TV, maybe needs to throw a regular eye over the service industry in industry……from customer viewpoint.
No internet, no help, not worth your money, time, sanity
I've had no internet since the 21st of November, I've spent 9.3 hours on the phone with them over the last few weeks.
On the 10th of Dec a technician called out to verify there is no wifi in the house. He told me a 2nd line Tech would be out the next day to fix it.
No Tech arrived, after numerous calls I had to log a call to speak to a manager...the person on the phone forgot to log that call so I had to call again to arrange that...again.
Then a second line technician showed up to my house (on the 19th) without calling or texting or even arranging a call out. I was in work so he knocked on my door, realized I wasn't home and left (I was told I didn't need to be here as the issue was outside my house) They then logged another date for the tech to call out but actually informed me of the callout (Sat 8-12). No Text, No Call and No Technician showed up.
3 hours on the phone today for more of absolutely nothing.
Honestly wish I never had anything to do with them.
Wish I could give 0 stars.
Virgin Media Customer (dis)service…
Virgin Media Customer (dis)service Review No2. So following my previous review there was a response from Virgin Media here on Trustpilot. They wrongly, stated that there had been a 'service outage in my area'. This is untrue.
They then offered me a visit slot from a fault fixing engineer on Tuesday 9th, which was unacceptable as I was in the middle of a 2 week block of work. I rescheduled the appointment to Tuesday 23rd. In the meantime my broadband service was recommenced sometime on Monday 15th. I discovered this happy fact when I got home from work. They didn't think to contact me to say it had been reconnected!!
I called them on Tuesday 14th during a break in work to let them know my broadband had been reconnected & to ask them to tell me why I'd been disconnected in the first place. Michael from Technical Support said & I quote 'there was a problem with the account'!! This was news to me because at NO TIME have I received any communication from Virgin Media about issues with my account & as I make a payment most weeks it is IN CREDIT!!. I pointed this out to Michael & asked what was the 'problem' with my account that caused Virgin Media to disconnect me without any prior warning!
He then back-tracked & said the problem with my account was at their end!
I am still no wiser about why I was disconnected & why Technical Support took 18 days to reconnect me & why during that time I received no contact from them regarding this 'problem' with my account. I am still waiting for them to have the common decency to respond to my query as to what the issue(s) were.
This merely reinforces my utter dissatisfaction with their treatment of my case by their systems. The people manning their phone lines are pleasant, polite, patient & obviously well trained but the flaws in the systems in which they operate are I fear, deeply rooted and systemic & I have no faith that Virgin Media Ireland are in any way prepared to address them. So I cannot in all honesty recommend this company to anyone.
Switching from sky already have siro
Switching from sky already have siro. Told a date for switch over and equipment then took a day off work and noting. Have been on the phone over two weeks to them for over 6 hours being told something different every time. Now almost Christmas and still no equipment or confirmation if an installer is needed. Tried to call today to cancel - waited an hour to get through to a nice guy trying to sort it. He put me on hold then the call dropped and leaves me having to join the 1 hour + wait queue again! Every step from the initial sales call (where the order wasn't put through correctly) to now has been terrible. Don't put yourself through it. I'm trying to cancel and can't even do that!!
Worst experience ever
Worst experience ever, after been cancelling my service for 3 months in a row because they were not capable to find my payment, after long claims and wasted my time, they send an email confirming they found the payment and my service would be activated in 24 hours…. Shame on virgin I still with no service all because they are useless and incompetent!
Incompetence at its finest.
Changing address, contacted Virgin Media to transfer my account, was told a technician would be in contact within 24 - 48 hours, here I am 8 days later, 6 days after my move in date, which I cannot do because I work from home so my new home is lying idle while I overstay in my current house. Multiple phone calls, told the same thing over and over again that it would be 24 - 48 hours. Have given them 24 hours to rectify before cancelling and going with another company. A ridiculous way to lose a customer.
