I just love everything about vinted

I just love everything about vinted.
You can negotiate, sell and buy.
Everything depends on how you present your products, not on who you are and it’s fantastic.
Negotiations are fluid and i love the timelines we have to post our products

Zero customer service

Someone purchased an item, which I duly sent off. They didn't collect it. The item was "returned" to a pick up point 250km from where I live, and I was told there is nothing Vinted can do about it, and I have to travel 500km in order to get my item back.

I contacted customer service, and they said it wasn't there problem. When I repeatedly asked how to make a complaint, they refused to respond.

Utterly abysmal service, and I will be deleting my account.

Received fake leather shoes - 48-Hour Window is Insufficient for Counterfeit Detection

I bought a pair of Birkenstock sandals on this platform for €70 advertised as 'Suede', and instead recevied a pair of fake leather Birkinstock sandals with the logo misprinted on the side.

When I received them, something felt a bit wierd, but I didn't really clock they were fake leather until a while later when I asked someone what they thought about the shoes, and then did further research into this matter. After some research, I understood that these were indeed not real leather. Unfortunately the 2 day window they allow for registering complaints, had now passed.

I wrote to Vinted telling them my situation, and explaining that their 48-hour "everything is okay" window, was unfair fairness in cases of counterfeit goods. Identifying high-quality synthetic leather as a non-expert takes time, research, and often a second opinion. By the time I confirmed these were not genuine, the window had closed. A two-day timeframe is an unreasonable expectation for a consumer to perform "due diligence" on material authenticity.

I was fobbed off with AI virutal assistants, then human ones (I think - can't be sure!) which ran scripted responses which were rigidly sticking to their 48hr complaint window policy. Felt very unsympathetic and unsupportive to the buyer / customer.

Just look at how bad Vinted's current policy compares other major second-hand and peer-to-peer marketplaces protect their buyers:

i) EBAY- Up to 30 days after delivery (Money Back Guarantee).
ii) ETSY- Up to 100 days to file a case for items not as described.
iii) AMAZON(Pre-owned) - Usually 30 days under the A-to-z Guarantee.
iV) PAYPAL (Typical Payment) - Up to 180 days for "Significantly Not as Described" claims.
v) VINTED- 2 DAYS!

As you can see Vinted looks pathetically bad compared to the other major second hand websites in terms of buyer protection!

Vinted offers the LEAST consumer protection of any major global marketplace, YET THEY CHARGE A MANDOTORY 'BUYER'S PROTECTION FEE' for every purchase, it's not optional!!
If this fee does not protect a buyer from being sold counterfeit, synthetic goods misrepresented as "Genuine Suede," then what is its purpose?

A policy that defaults to the seller's benefit after a mere 48 hours is not "Buyer Protection"—it is a liability shield for the platform.

What un unsympathetic greedy company, only looking after it's own profit.

After this experience, I'm deleting my account and making sure I'm telling as many people as I can about this!

Item lost, no compensation, no accountability from Vinted

My item was lost during shipment arranged by Vinted.

After nearly two months, I was told they take no responsibility. No investigation, no solution, no compensation.

So I am left with nothing !
no item, no money !?
because of a failure within their system.

This platform offers no real protection for sellers. If something goes wrong, you are left alone to deal with the consequences.

I have reported this case to consumer authorities and will continue to pursue it.

Can be used for good

Vinted is a private company, its objective is to make money, let's not forget that. However, if used well, this is a good system or a good start to move to a more circular economy and slow the damages caused by (ultra) fast fashion, all over the planet (even if far from our occidental eyes).

Worst customer service E V E R

Worst customer service E V E R! They all are incredibly ridiculous!
You send them all the proof requested (I said ALL invoice from the brand included) as an item I’ve listed they judge it as counterfeit.
After 10 days (🤣yes 10 days, not a joke!) they respond as if they haven't even looked at a single piece of evidence, telling you that your item is probably fake to them and that if I repost it, they'll block my account! I repeat... an item where I sent 20 photos plus the purchase invoice. You all deserve to fail, one by one! You're a disgrace.

If it all goes well and you are lucky

If it all goes well and you are lucky: this is a superb tool.
However, if you do not get the right item or parcel is lost ir your stuff is counterfeit, then you have to deal on your own!
No support. A prenetending chat bot that does nit answer and no phone number y
to call or live chat easily accessible.
This is really a shame and should be considered as a trustfull platform.
To avoid if you have a few more bucks to spend but want a simple deal....
Such a shame....

Be careful when you send any item

Be careful when you send any item. If it’s get damaged or lost you are going to pay for it. They don’t take any responsibility. There is no customer service to solve any issue. I would think twice before selling anything expensive.
