LOVE IT. But wish they'd honour my lifetime licence 4EVA!
LOVE IT! Have used this Wondershare UniConverter software for YEARS! I'm a pro content creator/editor and it's hands down the most seedless, well thought out software - plus has recently included a stack of cool nu AI tools. If you need to concert ANYTHING to ANY FORMAT, reduce a good size but keep quality, download YT clips, etc - get it. Worth it. Only lost a star as I originally bought a perpetual lifelong licence - and they're only honouring it until the last version. Still works well but as a loyal customer, I feel lifetime - means forever free, no matter what updates they dream up.

Why Wouldn't You
I am an 80 year old individual. I have been retired for the past 14 years. Leading up to my retirement, I started purchasing equipment to allow me to follow my passion. For the last 40 years of my working life...I was a sales traveller...covering the whole South Island of New Zealand. and the Wellington region in the North Island.
I always carried my camera...taking photos of all sorts of landscapes, and things that took my eye as I travelled around. Upon my retirement, I gravitated towards video, as I enjoyed movement of people and things...which led me into starting my own youtube channel and posting footage of some of those travels. Editing of those videos was involved in that process. I tried a number of editing programs , which included Wondershare Filmora. After a short time I found it to be relatively easy to work with. At that point I moved away from Adoble Premiere, Movavi...and a couple of others and concentrated on Filmora. When uploading my editied videos to youtube....at the end of my videos I declare what editing program I use...which can be seen on my youtube channel

everything works, but an update request shows every time I open the program. That gets annoying.

Favorite Video Editor
I've personally had the best workflow using this editor. Before using Filmora, I've had experience with Premier Pro, Final Cut, and Davinci Resolve, but I personally found this editor to be the most intuitive and works best for my device seeing as the others require a bit of a higher end device. Keep up the great work team Wondershare!

Disappointing Experience with Wondershare's Uniconverter 12 perpetual Lifetime License
To anyone considering Wondershare products with lifetime licenses or subscriptions, I want to share a lesson I recently learned.I purchased a lifetime perpetual license for Wondershare UniConverter 12, but the software is now unusable. The company refuses to assist me in fixing it, instead pressuring me to pay CAD 50 for an upgrade. For the same price, other reputable vendors in this industry offer software with lifetime updates included. Wondershare's customer service has been unhelpful, taking 10–12 hours to respond to emails and offering no phone support—only AI bots that provide no real solutions.After five days of email correspondence, Wondershare still insists I pay for an upgrade, despite their promise of lifetime usability for UniConverter 12. I have no interest in upgrading; I simply want the software I paid for to work as promised. This approach feels unprofessional, as the company fails to honor its commitments and instead pushes additional costs onto customers.Below are excerpts from Wondershare’s communications:Communication 1 (Olivia, Wondershare Customer Service):
"We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. We still offer you lifetime rights to version 12, but we no longer spend manpower and financial resources to maintain this version."Communication 2:
"We apologize for the inconvenience. We have already explained to you that we no longer provide technical support for the old version."Communication 3 (Ryan, Wondershare, Jul 2, 2025, 17:15 GMT+8):
"Thank you so much for reaching out to us! ... While you can enjoy using UniConverter 12 for life, we want to let you know that we no longer provide maintenance or updates for this version. Unfortunately, this means we’re unable to assist with the technical issues you’re facing at the moment. We hope you can appreciate that while we promised perpetual usage, we can’t guarantee ongoing maintenance for this product, similar to other items you might purchase."When a company fails to honor its promises, can it be considered trustworthy? I advise caution when considering Wondershare products, as their "lifetime license" may not deliver the value or support you expect.

The product delivers.
Upgrades are reasonable for repeat users. The product continues to do what I purchased it for. I am not aware of an app that does this, or as well.
