Great experience with U Save Bari office

We have nothing to complain about.

We rented the car directly from their website site, took the Premium version with their full insurance and 2 free of charge add ons. This is an option we would recommend anyone as you do not have to worry about anything.
Security deposit was ONLY 150€ and was returned to us immediately when we dropped the car.
No additional fee was demanded from us, this happens if you rent a car via some other dealer.

We were nicely welcomed in their office which is cca 3minutes drive from the airport Bari. This is the place where cars are handed over and where you return them, they are not located at the airport /but this information is provided few times.

We were given a brand new Toyota.

The staff is so kind and helpful and answered to all our questions.
Before and during the rental we were in communication with them via WhatsApp and they replied to our questions very fast.

To summarise, we recommend this company to rent a car BUT rent it direct from them as you avoid additional dealer fees and with Premium option if possible, to be fully insured and without any worries during your trip!

SCAM WARNING

SCAM WARNING: Deceptive Document Traps & Unjustified Money Grabs!
Avoid U-Save and Green Motion at Bologna completely! They use predatory tactics to steal your prepayment. Before arriving, their online check-in system asked me to upload my Turkish passport and Turkish driving license. Their system accepted them. But when I arrived at the desk, they suddenly claimed I needed an International Driving Permit (IDP) because I am "Non-EU," canceled my prepaid booking, and kept 100% of my money!
Their terms contradict Italian law. To prove this: right after they refused me, I walked directly opposite to the Felirent desk. Felirent accepted my exact same driving license instantly, confirmed Italian law does NOT require an IDP for it, and gave me a car in 10 minutes.
U-Save deliberately approves your documents online to lock in your money, then uses buried, legally inaccurate clauses at the desk to refuse service and keep your cash. I have initiated a bank chargeback and filed reports with Italian and UK Consumer Authorities. Do not trust them with your money!

The requirement for an International Driving Permit (IDP) for non‑EU licence holders in Italy is not a company preference or a “money‑grab” tactic.

It is an insurance requirement set by the insurance provider used by Green Motion Italy. This requirement is clearly stated in our Terms & Conditions, which are accepted at the time of booking.

While our pre‑registration system allows customers to upload documents in advance, it also clearly states that successful upload does not guarantee acceptance at the counter if the Terms & Conditions and mandatory rental requirements are not met. This is standard practice across the car‑rental industry.

In your case, the rental could not proceed because the required documentation was not presented. Despite this, and as a gesture of goodwill, your booking was refunded in full, even though the Terms & Conditions did not oblige us to do so.

We appreciate that different rental companies may apply different insurance rules, but this does not change the requirements of our own insurance provider, nor does it make our Terms & Conditions “illegal” or “deceptive.”

Very disappointing experience

Very disappointing experience with U-Save. The biggest issue was that it was nowhere near clear enough that you NEED a CREDIT card — not a debit card — if you want to decline their insurance. Because of this, we were suddenly forced to pay an extra 550€ for insurance we did not even need, since we are already covered through our own insurance at home. It genuinely felt misleading and like we were trapped into paying additional fees at the desk.

To make matters worse, the car we received was clearly worse than the one we booked and were promised. Smaller, lower quality, and not equivalent to the category advertised. When you book and pay for a certain type of car, you expect to actually receive something comparable — not just “whatever is available.”

Overall, the whole experience felt unprofessional and focused on upselling and hidden conditions rather than customer service. I would strongly recommend reading every tiny detail before booking with U-Save, because the final price and experience may be very different from what you expect.

U Save car rental in Naples is simply a scam



U Save car rental in Naples is simply a scam. The staff are rude to the point of being outright offensive and intimidating. It is in an offsite location and they effectively pick you up on the street. The pick point has no signage and neither does the shuttle bus. When we returned the car we got the same aggressive and intimidating service from the female staff member that served us when we collected the car. Following her inspection of the vehicle which had been parked in our hotel’s garage for the duration of the hire period and not used I was informed that a small stone chip on the lower rear bumper would be charged for and that it didn’t matter as I had purchased the additional insurance. Only after protesting strongly and threatening to cancel my card and take legal action did she and her manager back down. My wife and I felt very intimidated and threatened having been told that we have no power to do anything.
Reading their reviews on line, this is clearly a tactic used to extort money. The rental was cheap but they use tactics like this to make up for the low initial rental price. In future I will just use the regular rental brands that operate form the airport and pay the higher fee.

There process is unique and highly…

There check-in process is unique and highly automated. I was intrigued by the price which was lower than any for the area.if you have children, I think they will like this experience.

When you arrive, a machine scans your license. You are then guided into a private booth where you check-in virtually.

Knowing your car insurance coverage and credit card coverage is important. This was one of the most pushy experiences when it comes to getting into the car. Check your credit card companies coverages when you rent a car.

They also check your car insurance through an app that connects to your insurance company. You scan a QR code and this is an easy process. But be sure to have an online account otherwise you will add another 15 minutes to your check-out process.

They allow you to check the current prior damage online as well with a link and this is e-mailed to you. This was a forward thinking idea and allows more piece of mind. I will write a review once I receive the final bill as prior reviews are certainly concerning based on questionable practices that others mentioned here. It was raining and I missed a small windshield chip. I called immediately and was able to get this added to my evidence and this also allows electronic dating for clarity.

I will return for another review after I receive the final bill. In addition, to share with my 75,000+ global followers. It is important for me to be honest about my complete full experience.

At the time of the writing, day 6 of 9 days of the rent and the day of this review, I am happy with the process minus the unnecessary and unethical sales pressure to add additional insurance coverage.

I had rented a car from them and and…

I had rented a car from them and and what started out as being a low daily rate after they finished with the transaction it was 5 times more expensive. They refused to accept existing insurance coverage as well causing me to purchase additional coverage and then required an additional $250 deposit because I did not want a sun pass set up (had no need to use tolls). Then on 5/14/26 I went to my parking spot and the car was gone. I called the police to report it stolen and they informed me that the car was not stolen, it was repossessed by Nissan. I tried calling the car rental company the Entire day and the phone number would go to voicemail but say that it was not set up and then it wouldn't go through at all. I also emailed the company it appears they had a miami location as well, and the response back from the email was we would contact you shortly, which they never did. I called the miami number and when I actually got ahold of someone I began to relay the situation and they hung up on me. My bank refuses to revers the charges and says that I need to take the issue up with the rental company which is not reachable and responsive and I am out the money at this point. This clearly is Fraud.

U-SAVE Novotel Stansted Airport

I was allocated a lesser vehicle than the one I purchased. I was offered an upgrade at extra cost when I should have been offered a refund. I accepted a lesser vehicle on the understanding that I would complain on my return. I was even offered to be upsold an MG ZS, which I have been provided on several occasions as a direct substitutefor a Peugeot 2008 without additional cost.
Things started going wrong in summer 2024. I was allocated a Aygo X when I had ordered a Peugeot 2008. The manager laughed, and said "ohh he's a special cusomer". A Peugeot 2008 promptly appeared. I didn't think anything of it at the time, but in the light of what has happened since it took on greater significance. Why do you have to be a so-called "special custome"r to be allocated the car you ordered, or similar, instead of a downgrade. Since that time I have been allocated a lesser vehicle many times. Each time it happens I complain about it to the staff, the manager, and online. But they don't seem to care anymore about good customer service.

Be careful and DO NOT use this company

Be careful and DO NOT use this company! It’s a scam!!

It seems like a good offer, but they WILL rob you! They rent out cars with tiny scratches that is not visible or noticeable when you collect the car. It will even not be visible on the photos you take of the car when you pick it up. On return they will walk right up to the scratch and point it out, and they will charge the shit out of you.

Please be aware that this is a planned and cunning way of scamming people. I do not know how they sleep at night. Keep away from the company. Please go to Hertz or Avis, if you want to have peace of mind, and you don’t want to be fooled.

I’m expecting u-Save to reply on this post, but be aware. They only do it to SEEM profesional and helpful. They are really not. Don’t let them fool you.

Utilized U-Save Car Rental out of Tampa - Total SCAMMERS AND THIEVES!

Utilized U-Save Car Rental out of Tampa Bay Airport per bundling to get savings through Expedia.

HUGE MISTAKE! They try to bait and switch, and do not homnor the price. Say the pricing doesn't cover local taxes, and that you must have insurance from one of their 6 companies to not have to pay for their insurance!

They charged me a $2,000 DEPOSIT which was to be refunded to my credit card within 10 business days of my return of the car in excellent condition (which it was). That was over 90 days ago and I STILL HAVE NOT GOTTEN MY DEPOSIT BACK! THEY ARE THIEVES!! THEY WON'T RETURN CALLS AND WHEN YOU DO REACH SOMEONE THEY PUT YOU ON HOLD AND THEN HANG UP!

I will say it again, U-SAVE IS NOTHING BUT A BUNCH OF THIEVES!! SCAM ALERT! SCAM ALERT!!

Don't touch them

Don't touch them. Dishonest, not upfront about charges, high pressure upselling. Very poor experience, borders on scamming even though what they did was legal.

Italy car rental

I rented a car in Italy for a week and when I returned the car at the airport I was told that I would have to pay €50 as I did not get the car washed before returning it, this was reduced to €20 through negotiation with the potential washer...what a policy!!!!

In Italy, as in several other countries, some locations operate with a “return clean” policy, which means the vehicle must be returned in the same condition in which it was collected, including the exterior. This requirement is stated in the Terms & Conditions provided during the booking process, and it is also explained at the counter when the rental agreement is signed. When a vehicle is returned without being washed, the branch applies a standard cleaning fee to cover the cost of preparing the car for the next customer.

We appreciate that this policy may feel unusual if you are not familiar with it, and we are sorry if it was not as clearly communicated as it should have been. Clearly predatory pricing design

Clearly predatory pricing design: low initial price, but upon pick-up, they refuse to accept the insurance that you own, so the upcharge for their mandatory insurance was triple the cost of the car rental. I showed proof of my own insurance, but they declined. In addition, they requested a 1500 pounds deposit for the car. In addition, the manner of the staff was dismissive and unpleasant. I've rented cars for years, and I've never experienced anything like this. Do not rent from U-Save.
Note: their explanation of their insurance as standard across the industry is nonsensical. I cancelled the reservation, and walked over to rental car village--where a host of other companies exist and where I experienced none of that. They accepted my insurance, and the price quoted was the price I paid.

Third‑party excess‑reimbursement insurance, whether purchased independently or through a broker, does not reduce your financial liability with the rental company. If damage occurs, we are still required to charge the full excess, and you then claim reimbursement from your insurer. Because this type of policy does not replace the deposit or the liability outlined in the rental agreement, it cannot be accepted as a substitute for the coverage offered at the counter. This is standard practice across the industry and is stated in the Terms & Conditions agreed to during the booking process.

The insurance offered at the rental desk is a liability‑reduction product, not a reimbursement policy. It changes the terms of the rental contract itself, reduces or removes the excess directly with us, and in many cases lowers the required deposit. For this reason, it is priced differently and cannot be compared to a low‑cost reimbursement product.

Regarding the £1,500 deposit, this is the standard security amount for customers who choose not to take the full liability‑reduction option. It is held temporarily to cover any potential damage, fuel discrepancies, tolls, or other contractual obligations. The deposit is released in full once the vehicle is returned in the agreed condition.

The location at U-SAVE HOUSTON 5719 Edward Dr Houston, TX 77032. I've made the reservation through Expedia for 4 days. I've paid $158.47 plus $26.45 for Expedia charge.
After returning home I received an email with the following charges:
Rate charge: $104
Busing recovery fee: $ 12.00
Cleaning fee: $200
Toll invoice:$ 10.10
Toll admin fee: $25.00
Vehicle license fee: $4.76
TMV tax: $13.92
TMV taax: $2.53
Rental processing fee: $3.12
Concession recovery fee: $15.31
Concession recovery fee:$0.28
Harris Sports Venue Tax: $5.36
Total charge: $396.38
If this is not a robbery in plain sight, I don't know what it is. They play nice just to scam you right at the end.

Many of the items listed on your invoice are standard, mandatory airport and state‑regulated fees that apply to all rental companies operating at Houston Airport. These include concession recovery fees, vehicle licence fees, airport surcharges, TMV taxes, and the Harris County Sports Venue Tax. These charges are not discretionary and are disclosed in the Terms & Conditions during the booking process on Expedia. They are collected by the rental provider but passed on to the relevant authorities.

The toll charge and administration fee are applied when a toll road is used during the rental period. The toll amount comes directly from the toll authority, and the admin fee covers the processing of the toll notification, which is standard across the rental industry.

The cleaning fee is only applied when a vehicle requires more than routine cleaning upon return. This may include excessive dirt, spills, stains, pet hair, or smoke odour. We cannot discuss the specifics of your rental publicly, but we can review the inspection photos and documentation with you directly so you can see exactly why the fee was applied.
