I am not a serial reviewer but feel compelled to share my negative experience for others considering this service. I booked a deep clean of my whole house before travelling overseas, which came in at around $300, meaning it was quite a considered purchase that I had to budget in.

The professional allocated through the platform had bad reviews and I lodged a request for this to be reviewed and reassigned if possible. When that same professional turned up, I was sure to give thorough instructions instead. She did an average surface clean at best — no where near the deep clean I paid for, which is priced by area. She left crumbs and coffee in the kitchen, food stains on the kitchen tiles, dog hair on the floors that were supposedly hoovered and mopped, the list goes on. I had to ask her to clean the bathtub and toilet and Hoover the stairs, despite this being part of the booking process.

I entered a complaint through the app promptly and then flew immediately to London, so was without internet access to provide any more information. When I emailed through the details of my complaint, including offering to send photos, I was informed too much time had elapsed as per their T&Cs and that they would have needed to send someone to check the house. I was told they had no evidence and offered to send time-stamped photos, but was told this makes no difference as the window had now closed and the cleaner paid.

The most they would offer is a $100 voucher, which I declined as I refuse to use their services again and do not trust that their professionals are trained. I was also assured that the person who cleaned my house had been removed from the platform due to consistent bad reviews, but it looked like I paid $300 for the pleasure of Urban Company learning this, as I was repeatedly told there was nothing they could do to give me a partial refund (I did not request a whole refund) in spite of two different operatives telling me it sounded like a terrible experience.

As this is the first professional clean I have ever booked, and as someone who works for large customer-facing business, I think this is shocking and short-sighted customer service approach for a company that has just opened up to Melbourne and promises well-trained cleaners you can trust. As someone with a young family who had to budget this in to give myself a break, I could have done a better job myself — and did have to start mopping the floors when my 1 year old crawled around and still had black hands. Thoroughly disappointed.

Unfortunately due to traffic, cleaner was late, however was very prompt in letting me know. Clean was thorough. Will book again.

Love Urban Company cleaning services. Always on time and always do a thorough job! Gives me time to do the things I need to do! Can’t wait to get them back!!

Please be wary, their masseurs will touch you inappropriately and when you file a complaint against them, Urban, LOL, will offer you a refund and a few days to accept it, otherwise, they consider the matter closed.

I have been using the service for almost 2 years and I am amazed to see how each of their professionals do a perfect cleaning job.

I’ve had 2 cleaners through the app now. Both were amazing however after the first i was advised that there weren’t any that could work in our suburb. After a few months break we now have a regular cleaner that we love and trust!

We just started working for this company as cleaners. We checked three times and provided them with the right bank account number. Apparently​ they input wrong account number and deposited our payment to a wrong person and blaimed us for it. We have never got the payment.

They refused to contact their bank to reverse the transaction or pay us, told us to contact our bank. The bank told us that only Urban Company as the sender can contact the bank to reverse the transaction. We have rang and texted Urban Company many many times, however, their staffs have shown no interest to fix it, almost likes they have done this on purpose.

We don't know if this is their way to keep the money and don't pay the cleaners but they are very irresponsible and are not trust worthy.

First time I booked for my house clean I checked my app to see if it was confirmed, it was, but it was a man assigned to the job. I called and explained that I did not want a man in my home, I was told that it is company policy that they do not discriminate….
Okay, that is wonderful…. but as a paying customer I have the right to decide if a male or female comes into my home…. I threatened to cancel when senior manager called and organised for a female to attend.
She was lovely and did a great job! I called them told them as much and requested that she be my assigned cleaner every fortnight.
I was promised that she was now assigned to me every fortnight and I did not have to worry!
Yeah right!!! What a load of B#LL S#!T!!!
It’s been nothing but trouble ever since.
Next scheduled clean they assigned another male… I spent ages on the phone again going through the same CRAP…..managed to get my preferred cleaner again but on another day.
Now just checked my app for Tuesday’s clean and they have assigned someone else (female), but not my assigned cleaner.
Now she might be great… but that’s not the point… I pay for what I want, you promise I can have that, and that’s what I should get!
I called them AGAIN, was told AGAIN how sorry they are and will assign my assigned cleaner and they would call me in 10 minutes….. was called back 6 hours later!
NEEDLESS TO SAY!!!! I AM OVER IT…
When you call, they are always so sorry but sorry just does not cut it.
Get your act together.
And the influencers you pay or give free cleans to, should also know they are advertising a crap company.
STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!!!
Also FORGET ABOUT CHANGING YOUR CLEANING CART…. YOU CAN ONLY ADD ITEMS NOT REMOVE THEM…. Called them a week ago regarding this, they said they will comeback to me and NOTHING, still waiting on that call!!

Just feel sorry for the lovely lady that did come those few times and assured me she was happy to return when I asked her if I could get her permanently assigned to my cleans.

The service was apt . Id recommend urban company to others as it’s easy and transparent.

I booked the services today at 11.45 pm. The slot chosen was 5pm.
I was waiting for them to assign a professional. However at 5.10 pm I receive a call from URBAN COMPANY cx executive "Tanya" saying she does not have any professional. Her tone was very rude and she was taking things for granted.
Upon asking her to let me speak to a higher authority she did not let me speak. She was very rude and it felt like they were taking this whole thing for granted.
I had to suffer as i had an event tonight. Was not able to go.
Everytime I asked her a question she only had one answer "THIS IS AGAINST COMPANY POLICY"
I asked her to let me speak to her manager. She outright denied saying "THIS IS AGAINST COMPANY POLICY".
What kind of customer service is that??
I will post a review regarding this so no one gets scammed and waste their time.

Urban Company are incredibly easy to use. This is my third service now and each time my assigned cleaner has been punctual and efficient. I will definitely use again.
