UK Roof Surveys 

In the process of buying a house. The Level 3 RICS survey recommended getting an independent roof survey done. I tried some local companies which were not reliable and didn't give me confidence in obtaining a proper report.
Ashley was very professional and his team liaised with the owners to get this booked in as soon as possible. I had a detailed report with photographs within a couple of days. Ashley was also helpful in answering my questions and concerns on the phone afterwards. He addressed the concerns raised by the level 3 RICS survey. We are pleased that we used UK Roof Surveys for this and I would definitely recommend to others.

After years of worrying about the state of the roof, I finally ordered an independent roof survey with these guys, I was worried a roofer would have me doing work that wasn’t necessary needed. Great company to deal with, survey carried out within a few days, Ashley Dowsing attended and he was great, friendly, knowledgeable and very thorough, checking all areas of the roof, using ladders and a drone, report received was clear and set out exactly what was needed, very happy, would definitely recommend

We needed an independent surveyor to advise us about the roofing work we were having done. We had some worries about particular aspects of the work, so we asked for that to be a special focus.

Our surveyor was extremely helpful, not just during the considerately-arranged inspection visit itself and in the detailed report he gave us, but in the fact that he followed this up by remaining available to advise us in the following days and weeks as we continued to work with our builders. In particular, his knowledge and advice gave us greater confidence and helped us to be clearer about what what was important and what we needed to do to move our situation on.

Staff on the phone in the office were also very friendly and helpful. The survey was arranged very quickly.

Altogether, the company proved to be excellent value for money. I would certainly recommend them.

We were part way through the process of buying a house when spray foam was discovered. The lender then required a specialist roof survey to proceed and we chose UK Roof Surveys after searching for surveyors in the Nottingham area.

Ashley provided a reasonable quote, which was then followed up by their admin. They were very understanding of the fact that we needed to check with our Broker (and lender) beforehand to ensure the survey is what the lender required.

Once we got the greenlight, the roof survey was booked in for 29/04/2026 and the report was received 2 days later - 01/05/2026, which seems very reasonable.

The report was detailed, easy to understand and straight to the point in each section. Information was backed up with interior photos and external drone photos, which give a very clear and wide view of any external roof issues. A risk assessment and costings breakdown were also included for spray foam removal and roof repairs, which is what our lender requires.

The survey has also uncovered other roof issues that we were completely unaware of, but were clearly visible in the drone photos.

Lastly, a massive thank you to Ashley, who carried out the survey.

It's highly likely we'll be using UK Roof Surveys again in the near-future, regardless of whether we end up completing the purchase on our house, or it falls through due to the lender rejecting because of the spray foam and roof condition.

I absolutely recommend this company. Ashley is amazing. Nothing was too much trouble. I was buying a property and was advised to get a roof survey done.

I requested a call back in the first instance and was surprised when when he called within half an hour. He gave me a clear explanation of what he would do and the great thing about it was there was no sales pitch! He explained the company only did surveys. They do not do roofing, or any roofing repairs.

Although I was not at the property, I have been told he arrived on time and was considerate to the seller.

The survey report I received was easy for me to understand with no technical garbage. I am sure this will help me when I move in to the property to help me find a genuine roofer and not a cowboy.

It was, in my opinion, an honest review. He explains what should be done as a matter of urgency and also what is not required which I found really helpful. To back up his comments he supplies full photographic evidence. The survey also gives you price guidelines which I will find helpful when getting quotes for work that needs doing.
